Anne, I know what you mean about knowing where to draw the line. I'd always had in my mind 4 MCs would be the most I can take but if I do end up having a 4th one I imagine that will change. I guess eventually you get so tired of it all that you don't want to put yourself through it anymore. DH and I have provisionally said if we haven't got a family by the time we're 35 we will think about adoption. By then we will have been trying for 5 years. So 3 more years, but I hope we don't reach that point.

As for the Ubiquinol, I read about it in a book called It Starts with an Egg. Seeing as my last MC was due to a dodgy egg I thought I'd give it a go. I found a lot of the book a bit too much, things like stop using tupperware and wearing nail varnish and perfume to help your eggs, and the evidence is largely from couples going through IVF but it is quite an interesting read. I haven't thrown out my tupperware however!

Oh @AnneLovesGilbert, I really feel for you. I can't imagine what it's like to go through it again and again. I really hope next month is a BFP and a lovely sticky bean for you!

AnneLovesGilbert · 13/02/2017 11:20

So much has happened, I'm still catching up! Miami, I'm so so pleased you had a good appointment, I was thinking of you. A good doctor, tests and hopefully a plan - I'm sure and I hope they look after you well Smile

Do you know what they expect to change or stay the same over a 12 week period between the test?

It's good you can get back to ttc when you're ready, I'm sure they'd have said if you couldn't but def phone them and ask if you want to be sure.

AnneLovesGilbert · 13/02/2017 11:11

I take a pregnancy vitamin and vitamin D. Been looking into Ubiquinol after Turquoise mentioned it but can't find much on the benefits for people under 35, whether TTC or not.

Back at work today. The bleeding's been really heavy so feeling tired and weak, but it's tailing off and the pain is mostly gone. Called the EPU to see if I still need a follow up HCG. Otherwise I'll just hope for a bfn by the end of this week.

We ttc for 7 months emsler, then had early mc, then 12 week MMC, then a month off, and now another early mc. So I've got pregnant first try each time since August, which in itself is a bit mad, so there may be something in what you say. But we had nothing for 7 months beforehand.

My mum asked DH over the weekend what we'll do "if this keeps happening". He doesn't know, I don't know, I'm not sure the Doctor knows....

Those of you with DC already, does it help to know you're not in fact broken and that you can do it and carry a baby to term? Or does it not help because you didn't but then you couldn't?

I've read so many articles about people who had loads of losses, never found out why, but they got their baby in the end. Which is wonderful, obviously better to end up with a baby than not! But it makes me wonder how many more losses and for what reason before we get one which sticks? And assuming there are people out there who had loads of losses and left the forums they were on because they never ended up with a baby, how do you know when to stop putting yourself through it?

I'm not there yet. But what if I get pregnant again next month (fx I guess) and then another one craps out? What then?

Really hope this is your month emsler

Sock, I had a slightly longer cycle than normal post MMC. And someone mentioned boobs - I've had exactly this! Always had a week of sore huge boobs before af and it's completely gone. Started getting sore boobs this month but it wasn't af, it was pregnancy. So weird.

lightgreenglass · 13/02/2017 11:09

Congratulations Amy. Nice to hear a good news story.

I'm taking folic acid and vit D when I remember.

I've got my ultrasound next week, not looking forward to seeing my empty womb. My FW started at the end of last week and I've started using OPKs - the Clear Blue dual hormone ones. I've had 5 days of high fertility now, starting to think the bloody thing is broken. Has anyone else used them before?

emsler · 13/02/2017 11:05

@Swimchick1980, I feel for you. It's really difficult (although like you say, a bit easier when you know the person has also struggled). My two best friends are both pregnant (one due on my birthday, one on what would have been my due date if I hadn't miscarried) - and last week my ex told me that he and his new girlfriend are expecting. Not easy, but FX we're the next ones to be able to share our news, right?

swimchick1980 · 13/02/2017 10:45

I went with the start of a Liam Neeson film (can't even remember what it was called) but fell asleep. Watching Call the Midwife now as need a good cry - another close colleague announced her pregnancy this morning, I honestly can't believe it. Am delighted for her as they thought they would need fertility treatment, so a little miracle, but it's so hard.

I went back to the Pregnacare conception vitamins, wasn't really sure what to do but I just switched from the pregnancy ones back to the conception ones.

emily86 · 13/02/2017 10:15

I just take bog standard folic acid. Tried pregnacare for a while but found they messed with my cycle and I'd spot for 5-7 days before my period started. I too have always had a break from folic acid whenever I've had a miscarriage. After this last one I've started taking Ubiquinol as it can help improve egg quality but it is quite pricey. And take vit D when I manage to remember.

Sometimes I feel like I'm going to be taking folic acid for the rest of my life!

fluffiny31 · 13/02/2017 09:10

Dontbuy i call my body stupid although I have a healthy baby first time my stupid body failed and ejected her early if it had its way would of been earlier but the hospital kept her in for a week and although she was poorly she isn't now. This time round my stupid body couldn't even miscarry properly never mind protect my baby. Hopefully next time my body won't be stupid and will behave itself. My fingers are crossed. Just need it to go back to normal now. Good luck.

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 13/02/2017 08:52

BTW congratulations Amy and well done for getting your ring back Swim!

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 13/02/2017 08:51

I just take folic acid pills and call them my Stupid Womb Pills.
I was taking pregnacare conception when I got pg with DD and this time wasn't taking anything. So I am stupidly clinging to that if I take my SWPs then when my stupid body works again then maybe I'll be ready next time.
Stupid body.

noroomonbroom · 12/02/2017 23:25

Went with Call the Midwife and a cry.
Mouselove I'm having a bit of a break from the preg vits can't see the point at the moment.
Went through a bit of a 'some people seem to do everything wrong and get away with it' moment .
Then felt rubbish for feeling that way.
Think I have turned into the ttc version of a bridezilla.
Not pretty and I don't know where it has come from.
So lovely to hear some positive news.Congratulations Amy.Hope everything goes well for you.

emsler · 12/02/2017 21:05

Amy I'm so pleased for you, congratulations!

Mouselove, I took a break after my miscarriage too, I was so angry and hurt I couldn't bear to take them. I'd go back onto your folic acid and conception vitamins when you're ready. I also take magnesium and Omega 3, 6 and 9, plus high does vitamin D.

MouseLove · 12/02/2017 20:27

Congratulations Amy that's lovely news!!!

Ladies hope you've had a lovely weekend. I have another week off work and then it's back to normal.

I have not been taking any kind of vitamin this past week or so. I'm not sure what to do? I was taking pregnacare original and before that I was taking folic acid / centrum pre-pregnancy vitamins. What would you recommend. (And I know. Bad me for not taking at least a folic acid)

TurquoiseDress · 12/02/2017 20:14

Congratulations Amy!

Your message brought a tear to my eye- fingers crossed this one sticks!

swimchick1980 · 12/02/2017 20:03

Thanks everyone, it is a maybe relief to have found it. DH says I can't wear it out the house any more Grin.

Gees water, it is everywhere. Found it 2 more friends pregnant and due in July. Swithering about whether to watch Call the Midwife and have a good old cry or watch Die Hard 3.......

Waterfeature · 12/02/2017 19:36

Oh my goodness, they're even having a MC storyline on The Archers! (Thereby demonstrating I'm definitely too old to be allowed another baby...)

theotherendofthesockportal · 12/02/2017 17:15

Congratulations Amy and great news swim.

I've just done something that I swore I would never do. I have bought 50 ovulation tests of eBay.

My mmc was 4 weeks ago, stopped bleeding 3 weeks ago. At the hospital just under 2 weeks ago they said they could see I was about to or was about ovulate, no AF yet. I need to know what my body is doing so I can TTC

fluffiny31 · 12/02/2017 16:28

Congratulations amy

And really pleased you managed to get it back swim and he just doesn't get it. I know blokes feel different i fell in love the moment i got a positive test where as he didn't. With my dd he fell in love when she was born not before. Even when she was really poorly after birth he didn't show any emotion or even seem to understand how poorly she was even when ventilation was an option. I think he just doesn't think about things so he doesn't have to worry. I get that's his way i just struggle with no support. Men can't live with them or without Grin

Waterfeature · 12/02/2017 15:16

Lovely news Amy.

What a relief about the ring swim!

Miami81 · 12/02/2017 13:42

Congratulations Amy. Fingers and toes crossed for you.

emily, miserable enough that we haven't gone out at all. Unfortunately since the first post MC AF has arrived, we didn't make the most of it either Hmm

TeamLentil · 12/02/2017 13:28

Great stuff, swim! You must be so relieved.

emily86 · 12/02/2017 13:24

Congratulations Amy, everything crossed for you.

Great news on the ring swim!

How miserable is the weather this weekend?!

swimchick1980 · 12/02/2017 13:10

Congratulations Amy . Keeping everything crossed this is your rainbow.

I got my ring back - unscrewed the u bend and it was in there. Phew phew phew.
