I read that earlier Anne. I thought it was a nice little article and good that the BBC is putting something about pregnancy loss up. Sorry you've had such a crappy day.

I was 100% convinced I was going to get TSS when I first started using tampons!

AnneLovesGilbert · 23/02/2017 16:58

Just came across this: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-38602473

Very useful to have a Mum who's a nurse!

Grin at chronic laziness. You and me both love.

Crazyvaperlady · 23/02/2017 16:45

Anne it comes from having a nurse as a mother. I know much more medically than I should, but also not enough to prevent these crazy self diagnoses Grin. I hate what a hypochondriac I am but I just can't help it. My latest thing is that I am CONVINCED that I have an under active thyroid, probably to excuse my chronic laziness and inability to say no to food resulting in me being fat...

AnneLovesGilbert · 23/02/2017 16:39

Crazy Grin I'm very glad you lived. I've never known anyone actually have that, though some girls at school said they did so they got of swimming in PE!

AnneLovesGilbert · 23/02/2017 16:33

I was back on my feet in a few days mulder but it was a useful lesson in looking after myself and listening to my body. I don't know why but once the MVA was done 5 days after we found out I felt like my time for crying and sleeping and generally carrying on was over and I needed to crack on. Absolutely ridiculous. I should never have gone away for the weekend, it was madness Shock

Thank you. The weekend should be nice. I hope af isn't too rough on you. Rest up and look after yourself.

Crazyvaperlady · 23/02/2017 16:32

Anne that sounds bloody terrible, so glad you got sorted! I'm an over thinker, always have been! But it does tend to make me into a drama queen. Last year I had flu, proper flu, for the first time ever. However, because I was on my period, I convinced myself that I was actually dying from TSS and practically begged OH to take me to hospital. (He didn't and I lived, obviously) Grin

MulderitsmeX · 23/02/2017 16:24

anne that sounds awful, so painful.

hope you're done with work soon and can go home and rest up- the weekend is so close!!!

AnneLovesGilbert · 23/02/2017 16:11

Not being funny you two, I think at this juncture a bit of extra vigilance and drama is forgivable xxx

I remember standing in the freezing cold at some stupid family event, miles from home, 3 days after my MVA, thinking shit, this feels like cystitis but I don't want to bother anyone.

A couple of hours later I was doubled over in agony, barely able to breathe and heading to a&e.

Once we there the pain lessened and it felt like I was making a fuss and should wait to see the GP in the morning. I was being a complete muppet because I didn't want to put anyone out.

Turns out, that when you present at a&e with abdominal pain a few days after surgery they take it pretty bloody seriously and a few hours later I was in a bed being prodded by a surgeon. Massive dose of ABs and codeine and I was better in a few days. But it could have been anything.

Had it been up to me I'd have got rapidly worse at home, not making a fuss or bothering anyone, and could have got very very ill.

Thankfully, DH is a persistent pain in the arse and made us get help and drugs!

When something hurts it might be nothing. But any doctor or nurse who doesn't want you to get checked out when you've recently been through a miscarriage is a prick. No one hands out prizes for us choosing to suffer.

Or, crazy, for pretending to be relaxed about something so innately stressful and emotional and fucking traumatic. I doubt you're overreacting x

I'm having a shit day at work and keep getting stabbing in the ovary area. I'm pissed off and tired. Sorry for ranting Flowers

Crazyvaperlady · 23/02/2017 15:03

Thanks Anne don't know whether my cycles buggered or what, I do tend to be a tad over dramatic though and being as my period isn't even due til Saturday I think I may be over reacting Hmm

MulderitsmeX · 23/02/2017 15:02

Erm tbh the pain has kind of gone, it's more just "feelings" but she didn't really know; I may have over reacted a bit on reflection about that. I can't really remember if I used to have those feelings every now and then or not. Will see how I get on after my period.

Ah ok that makes sense, I'm glad I went in that case, she said she could see blood in the cervix so hopefully it hadn't been there for ages waiting for someone to break the seal!

I was so worried about ashermans (I know having a period doesn't mean you definitely don't have it but thinking positively) I was getting really stressed about my period not coming!! Hopefully I can get into the actual TTC bit nowSmile

AnneLovesGilbert · 23/02/2017 14:26

Did she give you any idea what the pain was caused by? Good job for getting it checked out.

If she took a swab from your cervix she'll have agitated/irritated a bit, not in a bad way, and that might have spurred your period on.

MulderitsmeX · 23/02/2017 13:51

Also do you think the nurse started the period?

MulderitsmeX · 23/02/2017 13:51

So i went to get the swab done today to test for infection and the nurse said it looked like my period was about to start. It then started about 1 hour later, probably medium - light flow. cd42- is this normal? Blood is quite red which I think is good

AnneLovesGilbert · 23/02/2017 10:59

Makes sense Crazy, and I'm the opposite! G&Ts for me, and the driest of wines, cheese over chocolate, crisps over sweets, no sugar in my coffee. My god I could eat cheese......

The whole post mc cycle thing is a complete head fuck love. I've never had mid cycle bleeding, ever, in over 20 years, and now that's a thing. Try and distract yourself from thinking about it and just see what happens over the next couple of days? Honestly not sure what else you can do Confused

Weird on the vomming Bertie, hope you're not feeling too rough. Could well be a symptom though, people randomly get morning sickness never having had it in previous pregnancies. Fx for you x

BertieBotts · 23/02/2017 10:25

The best way to tell when you ovulate is opks or BBT. Apps just take an average and won't reflect your true dates unless you put in this data.

It's the part between ovulation and period which stays the same which means your ovulation date will vary when you have varying cycles. This part is called the luteal phase and is usually 10-16 days long (but your own will usually be consistent) so your ovulation could be anywhere from day 14 to day 26. You can narrow it down more by monitoring your fertility signs.

AmandaP86x · 23/02/2017 10:21

Hi girls

Hope ur all well.

I'm on day 16 of my cycle had some clear discharge then some left sided pain. But OPK negative Shock I have two apps I'm using and they both show sepereate fertile weeks.

My cycle last
Month was 30 days & month before 35 so when should I ideally been ovulating? Sorry to be a pain in just a bit confused

Crazyvaperlady · 23/02/2017 10:07

Anne I don't like wine as it's always too dry, even the sweet stuff so cherry/peach lambrini is a sweeter alternative for me. Well AF has disappeared again now and don't know what to think :/ only had slight spotting which in my overactive imagination could be breakthrough bleeding :( aaargh still negative tests though! I'm so confused! Hoping the MC last month hasn't screwed my cycles up!

BertieBotts · 23/02/2017 09:55

NONE. I've only been pregnant three times, not nine!

BertieBotts · 23/02/2017 09:53

I'm pukey all of a sudden at 10dpo. Weird. Nine of my others have been like this, so I'm not sure whether to get excited or just blame the weird dinner DH made last night!

noroomonbroom · 23/02/2017 09:45

Yes officially negetive as of this morning.
Yes poor dp is not going to no what has hit him.
Have started taking folic acid again just in case.
But am expecting nothing this month.
Congratulations on the promotion swim
Have signed up to Ovia just to try and get an idea of what's going on.And mainly to stop the should I test now, tomorrow,a week next Thursday that I had last time because I have a memory like a sieve.

emily86 · 23/02/2017 09:40

Thanks for the pep talk ladies. You're right, I can and will deal with more baby bombs. She doesn't know about the most recent miscarriage as it happened whilst she's been away. And to be fair to her, she has been TTC for 18 months and has severe endometriosis so I would actually be thrilled for her if she is pregnant because otherwise her plan was to start IVF once she got back from travelling.

Great news on the promotion swimchick!

swimchick1980 · 23/02/2017 09:05
  • your situation
swimchick1980 · 23/02/2017 09:05

Thanks Anne, not for a month or so, so I've only been able to tell DH just now, so it's nice to be able to share some good news after a shitty start to the year. Hopefully a sign of good things to come.....

emily, I hope you get on ok with the catch up. If it is what you think, you will do fine. Does she know got situation? You are incredibly strong and even if you get upset, your friend will know you're happy for her Flowers

AnneLovesGilbert · 23/02/2017 08:52

Sounds like a good night Crazy, good work Wine I've never had lambrini, cherry or normal. Might get some!

swim, that's fantastic news! Congratulations! When does your promotion start?

I think I'm 2 or 3 DPO, not completely sure. And exam never really showed this month so it might be a funky cycle. But cervix, twinges and weird spotting make me think it all happened. My first day of LMP was the start of my last mc so not going to get too excited and just going to stay relaxed about it all. Ha! But that's the plan. Ovia says to test in 11 days.

user you can't ov if you're still technically pregnant but I wouldn't worry too much about not having tested. You know your symptoms and I've ovulated straight after mcs so I'd assume that's what's happening Smile

Testing again today noroom?

emily the 2WW sucks. It was the thing I was most chippy about after MMC. Getting back on that crappy horse. Waiting. Wondering. Trying not to do anything bad just in case. Trying not to symptom spot. I'm sure your friend just wants to catch up. But even if it is a baby bomb, you can handle it Think how strong you are and what you've been through. If it happens, just smile and nod and then get home and punch a pillow of whatever would help. It's only happened to me once and it was thankfully by text.

A shock pregnancy, she doesn't seem very happy and she's now cancelled her wedding because of it Confused Also weird that we were pregnant at the same time, and I saw her a couple of weeks after MMC but she wasn't telling anyone prescan.

Anyway, hope you're doing okay today Flowers

swimchick1980 · 22/02/2017 22:06

Cherry lambrini Grin, love it crazy. Sorry AF arrived Sad.

Seriously jealous of the cheese on toast and cake. I'm now in serious weight loss mode - well day two, so I've probably lost 10 grams Grin.

Anne and fluff, I'm in sync with you. I'm 1 DPO according to OPK (ovulated on CD 11, which is early for me.

In good news, I found out I got a big promotion at work today. Will celebrate with a night out with DH at the weekend Wine
