Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Thanks sk1pper, I will dress accordingly!

And thank you too macs and harriet.

macs, DH's parents do the same and keep bringing boxes of stuff round. Drives me mad because he never bothers to organise it so it just sits in the corner for months!

This is the first parking thread:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2848553-To-cause-a-row-with-the-neighbour-over-parking

There's a link to the second part at the end. Pure gold.

harrietm87 · 08/02/2017 17:02

Just wanted to say good luck with your appointments tomorrow kathrino and kwick!

And really hoping AF stays away for bluebell skipper and pyjamas.

macsworth · 08/02/2017 16:52

Not heard of Designated Survivor flash, I'll add that to the list. Loads of people have recommended The OA so I think that's next for us.

macsworth · 08/02/2017 16:50

I love halloumi pjs! We're out for dinner tonight with the in laws, I'm not sure I can wait after all this food talk.
They're having loads of building work at the mo so they've brought (and dumped in our lounge) loads of boxes of DH's childhood stuff! It's going to take him months to sort it out 😩

Just had a nose at the PMA thread, amazing approach. I'm with you though jam, need a rant every now and again!!

Yeah, where's the parking thread?! I want a good giggle.

Good luck tomorrow kathrino. They will have definitely seen if all before.

alexia if you're about, I really hope you're doing ok.

sk1pper · 08/02/2017 16:43

Kath - just your bottom half. Don't worry, honestly, I've never encountered anything but proffessionalism with all my various internal bits and bobs.

I pm hippy a lot, she's doing well. :)

88claire · 08/02/2017 16:36

Kwick

Deliveroo pick up from 5 guys and deliver it for you where I live now.... Soooo tempting!!

Londonjam · 08/02/2017 16:33

Kwick I am feeling a bit better today thank you, but 100% bit getting there!

Hippychick started another thread I believe with a very positive hippy vibe! I am too ranty for it I think, but I love her approach Halo

Where can I find this parking thread I hear of???

Kathrino · 08/02/2017 16:32

Thanks kwick, the doc did say she'd be happy to do the scans herself if I preferred (I'm not very good with internal stuff due to my history) but she also said that all their sonographers were very nice. I'm v glad you've confirmed that though!

Glad you're feeling better too, nothing beats a parking thread.

Kathrino · 08/02/2017 16:28

Thanks sk1pper, mine is also morning so will be doing something similar. How much stripping do you have to do? Presumably it's similar to a smear...?

I'm so glad that there's somewhere I can ask questions like this, google was not my friend.

kwick · 08/02/2017 16:25

OMG flash just spent last couple of hours reading the 2 parking threads in their entirety: HILARIOUS!!!! Thank you so much - they have really perked me up!!!

88 Five Guys deliver???????

Am feeling quite chipper after reading the parking threads... also stuffed my face with pastry...

hep how are your feet?

jam are you feeling better?

Is it me or did hippychic go AWOL? I seem to have a(nother) memory gap.

kathrino wear a towel. They are very used to doing baseline scans with AF. My favourite sonographers at CRGH are: Chiarra, Elena, a lovely Greek lady and a lovely German lady. But everyone is pretty nice :)

sk1pper · 08/02/2017 16:24

Kath - they literally don't care. I had a really good bath before my appointment (it was in the morning luckily) and it wasn't too bad in the end. But I wore a towel and she got me to strip behind a curtain before the internal so you can hide the dirty towel under your clothes if you like.

Kathrino · 08/02/2017 16:19

Thanks claire, you speak sense and I really appreciate you sharing your experience. I know you're absolutely right and I will try and remember it when I'm freaking out tomorrow morning!

88claire · 08/02/2017 16:10

Kathrino

I had one once during AF and I wore a towel. I apologised to the technician who said something along the lines of 'Oh dont worry if I wasn't ok with blood I wouldn't have gone into this profession'.

I really wouldn't worry I'm sure they have seen it all before. I would go with whatever you are most comfortable with.

Kathrino · 08/02/2017 16:08

So, TMI question for people who have had internal scans during AF...is it okay to wear a tampon that morning? Or is that gross? Is a towel better? Ugh. This is all so icky.

88claire · 08/02/2017 16:08

Miranda

According to OVIA I should test on the 18th. This is the first two week wait I've managed to pinpoint so my mind Is running away with me!

I'm also gonna try to wait for AF but I'm sure curiosity will get the better of me!

Fx for both of us Smile

Londonjam · 08/02/2017 16:06

I need to bring my fanjo out of lockdown about now ... ugh I cannot be bothered to have ANY MORE SEX!

Very glad to see that no more report sightings of AF in these areas. Her days are numbered.

Yes to us all watching Stranger Things 2 with bumps please!!

And kwick get your feet up. Heps recommendation is excellent.

Miranda234 · 08/02/2017 16:01

AF is due 17/18th Claire so will try to wait until after then! AF has got me before I've needed to test on the last few cycles though. Fx for you Smile

88claire · 08/02/2017 15:53

Whoops

Miranda not Mirena

Blush
88claire · 08/02/2017 15:53

Mirena

I'm 5dpo too.

I'm feeling exactly the same as you! Over analysing everything.

When do you plan to test?!

Miranda234 · 08/02/2017 15:49

Haha this food talk is making me hungry! Enjoy your pizza sk1pper!

Really hope AF stays away for you sk1pper, bluebell, pyjamas and anyone else waiting

Hope you have a relaxing afternoon/evening kwick

I'm only 5 dpo and already driving myself crazy. I've been feeling like af is coming since 1dpo but now I'm questioning if I'm imagining it! Getting fed up of wondering if this is how I 'normally' feel. I'm not sure what's normal anymore haha...

Pyjamas81 · 08/02/2017 15:45

You're all making me hungry!! Am making 'sweet potato and halloumi soul bowl' tonight (am on a health kick). Fx I don't discover the potato is having triplets...

No legs spread here mac ha ha - fanjo is on lockdown and nothing is allowed in or out!

Hope you feel better kwick! Have you had any more pain?

sk1pper · 08/02/2017 15:37

5 guys burgers? Sounds awesome will have to look them up. We have just had a gourmet burger restaurant open up in our nearest city, last time I went I had the BEST chicken burger I'e ever eaten covered in satay sauce. I normally avoid chicken because it's dry but trying to cut as much beef out as possible.

Oh and sweet potato fries.....urgh so hungry right now!

88claire · 08/02/2017 15:25

Sk1pper

That would be music to my ears too! Ive currently developed a liking for 5 guys burgers and they've started delivering... Dangerous!

Do love a spontaneous pizza though!!

Flashinthepan · 08/02/2017 15:20

Has anyone else started watching Designated Survivor on Netflix? I've watched the first and I'm hooked! Only 10 episodes but more coming in March.

macsworth · 08/02/2017 15:17

flash you're spot on!!

kwick I hope you're spoiling yourself this afternoon.

skipper, bluebell and pyjamas I've got everything crossed for you (except legs which have to be spread for obvious reasons)

winging finished Stranger Things last night, so watched the trailer for season 2, can't believe we're got to wait until Halloween. We better all be preggers by the time we watch that!
