Ok so I am bravely attempting to set up a new thread for anyone tTC.
Plug in your stats ...
Share the highs of your journey
Limit the lows - yes it's a challenging time but being negative gets you down.
I'm thinking positivity breeds positivity and positive thinking gets positive results -
It may take some of us a little longer than others ... but does that matter? I think not.

New rules - instead of saying af due ... we say bfp due ...

So here goes ... my stats
Age 38
Cycle 3
Bfp due 14/02

Happy V Day lovely ladies! Ah I am so behind! I have been following but haven't had time to respond. I'm not going to try and respond to everyone individually!

Rose - so so sorry for bfn :( but as others have said you're not out til you're out so there's still hope!

I hate this limbo between af and fw - it's such a write off / waste of time! I was thinking earlier we call the last 2 weeks of the cycle the 2ww but what do we call these 2 weeks? Then hippy (?) made a good suggestion earlier (which I now can't remember and can't scroll back on my phone for fear of losing this message!) I'm feeling very frustrated and anxious for some reason - very strange. Much as I hate af if she came every 2 weeks that would give us twice the baby making opportunities ... anyway we dtd earlier tonight so we are on track for the SMEP. I'm on cd 12 so going to start opk'ing tomorrow. My cycles are at least 30 days so not expecting to ov until Sun / Mon but I'm poas happy as someone said above so I can't wait to start peeing on sticks again! It's so boring just having a regular wee these days!! :D

Lots of talk of temping - we've bought a thermometer but I just don't think I want to start doing that yet ... I don't know what it is I'm just not keen.

Bella - we've all been there. I was a mental crazy lunatic on my first ttc cycle. Had butterflies in my tummy and everything! (Which of course I thought was a symptom and Google confirmed argh!!) In 5 and 1/2 years together i don't think we had ever gone unprotected for oh finishing so that was very strange for me and you're always told "have unprotected sex and you'll get pregnant" I thought it was that easy! Apparently not! You're in the right place - lots of ttc oracles on this thread for support and advice :)

Ps Salem I hope you're feeling better :)
Pps I don't craft but I love colouring in :)
Ppps I also wondered about the bold and strike through so thanks to whoever asked / responded hopefully this works

bakingmad83 · 14/02/2017 21:47

Rose I like card making. Have dipped in and out of it for a while, but made most of my Christmas cards last year and trying to make birthday cards for close family and friends this year too. You're right about it being a good distraction, but maybe not so much depending on what you make :) I'm impressed you made some baby clothes though!

Roseandbee · 14/02/2017 21:33

Bella LOL but i hope you informed your husband he's voided his voucher due to improper use. Yes it does drive you a bit up the wall, for me the worst part is, that i seem to struggle to think about much else. I attempted some crafting yesterday to distract me, it kinda worked only i've made baby clothes haha
does any one else like crafting?

BellaMoon · 14/02/2017 21:12

ladies your updates and sharing really is fantastic - iv had a few questions this evening (basal temps) and you're answering them - think we might have a psychotic psychic connection WinkHalo

i have never looked forward to AF in my life - hence 20+yrs of contraception - but this 2WW is driving me mad, hence the completely pointless POAS (twice might i add) today.

this is TTC #1 and cycle #1 for me - jeeeeeezo it's an emotional rollercoaster with mental torment isnt it? Confused

sending lots of positive vibes out to you all-
hope y'all have a lovely romantic val day!

foot note - gave DH a card with a love voucher in it. amongst the options for him to choose were a massage, a snog session, a blow job, DTD, you get the drift. he carefully read through all the options, turned it over pretending to look for more. i said "surely you can pick from that list" and he said "is there not an option for 3 points for my footie team on sat?"

who says romance is dead eh? lol

Roseandbee · 14/02/2017 21:02

Thanks everyone I'll be happy when I get out of the limbo as then I can cheer myself up focusing on the next cycle. Its mostly just my boobies that seem to still have hope at the moment, I'm not sure why they seem to have gotten so over excited this month, perhaps it's all the PMA
I'm the same with my OPKs I like watching them go darker and i get a mini bfp high when I get positive opk

Charley2016 · 14/02/2017 20:34

You're not the only one hippy. Dh won't come near me. Says blood smells metallic and it lingers Hmm thankfully my periods are now 3 days instead of 6-7! I used to be climbing the walls by time my period was done haha!

Anna I definitely agree! Everyone keeps telling me to relax and I do think 'let's just do a month of no trying' but i think I'd still think about it all and I'd kick myself at the end of the month if nothing happened feeling I might have missed a chance.... so hard!

Hippychic79 · 14/02/2017 20:22

Anyway ladies - dp and I are going to watch a film shortly so I hope you all have a lovely evening, get utterly spoilt and have a shagtastic Valentine's Day - and for those you at their peak fertility ... cheers to a valentines baby xxx

OP posts:
Anna2006 · 14/02/2017 20:18

Yes definitely agree Hippy. I think not temping is enough relaxed approach for me now. An I would like to still know when I ovulate to not miss it. I might be relaxed though an not mention it to hubby so he doesn't think too much about it. But at least I will know 😊

Charley DTD just for fun sounds good! Sometimes you forget all about that when your TTC. But I'm sure the relaxed just having fun approach is what's it's all about. I'm positive that's why I somehow fell first cycle cos I wasn't particularly thinking too in depth about anything at all!

Hippychic79 · 14/02/2017 20:16

Hi Charley glad I make you giggle ... these stars and dashes are adding more hecticness to this posting marlarky but I do like them so I'll try and keep it up :))
Glad your enjoying dtd for fun - it's easy to think fuck it it's not fw and I'm knackered :)) I think it's called the smep - sperm meets the egg plan Wink.
I'm hoping to get some just for fun action tonight but af is still lingering and dp isn't keen on making love when she's in town... he says he doesn't like blood ... so he's gonna be useful when I go into labour not sorry couldn't resist that one 😂 Xxx

OP posts:
Hippychic79 · 14/02/2017 20:10

Anna - you're right about the accomplishment feeling knowing that at least the egg(s) are commencing their journey. I think I've mentioned this before so apologies for repetition... but I can't temp even though I did buy a thermometer cuz dp would soon twig what I'm doing and would realise how much I'm tTC ... he doesn't want to start trying properly yet the asshole so I just use opks and poas in private ... I feed him vitamins including zinc to help his swimmers (he doesn't even know why other than overall health) and I put my vitamins in a different carton so he doesn't see they're a multi pregnancy vitamin :)). It's hard being so secretive and so I dropped the opks for a couple of months in an attempt to adopt a more casual approach but in truth it stressed me out as I like to be in control as much as possible ... so what I'm trying to say is ... I would drop the temping as I guess that's a bit relentless but poas for opk with fmu isn't too much hassle for a few days and waiting 4 wks to get to fw ... I personally wouldn't run the risk of missing ovulation ... that said if you ovulate around the same time and your dtd every other day (sadly a privilege I don't have) then maybe a more relax style would work better for you. Good luck with whatever you decide xxx

Right proper catch up now that I'm out the bath Blush

Hippy you have me a proper giggle with all the strike through and bolds haha! Sorry you had another baby bomb. They seem to be everywhere lately!

Salem sorry to hear about your pain. I hope you've been resting all evening and are feeling a little better.

Rose I'm so sorry about bfn. Still not out until AF shows though. I really think it's time we got a BFP on the thread so FX it's your time.

Anna loving the sound of your relaxed cycle. I've never had the motivation to temp. I have enough problems just remembering to take a tablet each morning. I hope you have a lovely chilled month.

Dolly fx the OPKs work for you this month! They can go from negative to positive so quickly it's so easy to miss.

Bella glad works calming down and so happy friends baby is doing better. Sorry to hear about the funeral, but a lovely way to look at it all Flowers

Hippychic79 · 14/02/2017 20:00

Salem - hopefully not opk saddo's forever ... I think with all this positive opk practice we deserve to graduate to pg bfp ... do you hear me universe... bfp's for this thread please asap xxx

OP posts:
Hippychic79 · 14/02/2017 19:57

Bella - your sense of humour is well intact and under such difficult circumstances- I think you've got more PMA than you think. Glad work is on the up, friends baby doing well and Flowers for the funeral ... celebrate their wonderful life xxx

Charley2016 · 14/02/2017 19:13

Hey ladies,

So my busy days done and I'm now in a burning joy bath watching my soaps Smile

6dpo here. Dtd the last two nights for fun! Was lovely to not feel like it HAD to be done! Going to try the SMTE so starting on Thursday at 8DPO and think I'll get my positive OPK roughly a week today. Probably start them around next Monday.

Anna2006 · 14/02/2017 19:13

Ha ladies. I'll join you there in that there is some enjoyment in seeing your OPK line appearing knowing that you actually work and function. It's an accomplishment!

Can't decide on whether to do OPKs this cycle or not. I've given up temping for a break but dunno if cold turkey on it all is too much lol. I won't be due to do them until after my trip away so have a week to decide xx

SalemTheTeenageWitch · 14/02/2017 18:00

Sorry to hear about the funeral Bella but you are right, a celebration of life Flowers. 4DPO isn't that bad! Maybe hold off until a bit later next time so your BFP is stronger Wink.

Hippy there is nothing except that first crisp glass of bubbly that gives me more joy than watching a line on a cheapie OPK. I can't even fathom what I think when I actually get a BFP! OPK Saddos 4ever Wink.

BellaMoon · 14/02/2017 17:51

evening ladies Smile

negative nancy here with her frown slowly turning upside down lol

mega busy project in work almost sorted. friend baby discharged from hospital with everything ok. family funeral on friday BUT it's a celebration of a wonderful life!

anyway, wee question, any1 hold a crazy record for POAS 4/5dpo? hands up! why why why - i think i'm pregnant with kittens hahaha

Hippychic79 · 14/02/2017 17:38

Clearly I was testing the strike not ovulation or pg 😂
Salem thanks for that :))
Yeah your cycle length seems normal however like mine is seems to fluctuate a bit ... I wonder why this is!
Good job your opk'ing early if your starting to get a line already ... I find it interesting to watch the lines getting darker what a saddo I am 😂
Xxx

Oops sorry Hippy & Dolly it is a double dash like this without the . between -.-

My cycles have been 25/28/29/27 so around the 27 day as an average I think, which is pretty normal?

Wow. Ive just got a line on my OPK Shock. It's not dark at all so definitely a negative but I didn't get a readable one until CD16 last month!!!!

Hippychic79 · 14/02/2017 16:26

Oh my strike through didn't work :(

OP posts:
Hippychic79 · 14/02/2017 16:25

Salem - so how long are your cycles? Sorry I've got a memory like a sieve :)
Fx fw lands in 1/2 term that would be ideal for you ... eeeeeek exciting
And if you're sad I'm sad ... I felt the same when I first saw that smiley -and when I keep seeing it each month- it reassures me I'm ovulating which I don't think I was for the first few cycles xxx

OP posts:
SalemTheTeenageWitch · 14/02/2017 16:19

You are welcome Hippy! I had my "peak" smiley on the digital OPK on CD17 but lines began to appear on CD15&16. I am on CD8 (!!!) but I don't want to miss anything? I have a feeling FW is going to coincide with half term Wink!
I agree the digital ones are sooooo expensive but soooooo worth that smiley face!!! It was one of the best feelings when I saw it for the first time sad.
