Ok so I am bravely attempting to set up a new thread for anyone tTC.
Plug in your stats ...
Share the highs of your journey
Limit the lows - yes it's a challenging time but being negative gets you down.
I'm thinking positivity breeds positivity and positive thinking gets positive results -
It may take some of us a little longer than others ... but does that matter? I think not.

New rules - instead of saying af due ... we say bfp due ...

So here goes ... my stats
Age 38
Cycle 3
Bfp due 14/02

Bellamoon your luteal phase is the length between ovulation and AF. Usually for women it is fairly consistent. Doesn't usually alter an if it does only by a day either side. Ovulation can move which is what determines your cycle length.

Ie. I have a 12 day luteal phase. Occasionally it's 11 days and once or twice been 13 but typically 12. So this means from the point I ovulate. AF arrives 12 days later.

So my first too cycles after mc I ovulated on CD13. So my period arrived CD26 giving me a 25 day cycle. So 12 days later.

This past cycle I ovulated on CD16 so knew my cycle would be slightly longer. An yep AF turned up on CD29 giving me a 28 day cycle. 2 days longer as I ovulated 2 days later...

Hope that makes sense??!! 😊😊

@charley

my cat is a psychopath but i love her! a bit panicky about the whole cats v babies old wives tail thingy. had a friend rehome 2 cats when she was pregnant as she "didn't want to chance it". i'd be devastated Sad

BellaMoon · 15/02/2017 17:03

@MrsB feeling the urge CONSTANTLY myself Confused

BellaMoon · 15/02/2017 16:59

ps - can any1 please explain luteal phase to me in plain english? (only if you've time) xxx

BellaMoon · 15/02/2017 16:56

@magpie - i think we are same DPO. i got my smiley on clear blue thursday evening so i could be 6dpo or i could be 4dpo. gawd knows! do you just take the inbetween and call it 5dpo? Confused

i'm due AF/BFP saturday 25th (i'm assuming in 28day cycle) and i poas twice yesterday - still find this hilarious. actually LOL'ing whilst typing this.

so DH is now borderline refusing to come near my Flowers "incase" i'm pregnant - he's about to get pounced upon Blush i'm getting a lot of "i was reading that..." or "i saw online that..." from him when i get in from work - he's literally spending all day on symptom spotting. great eh? saving me the bother lol

iv had v v v tender BiscuitBiscuit (that's my boobies) since ovulation time. hasn't let up at all!

hope y'all had a great hump day Wink

Hippychic79 · 15/02/2017 11:34

awww MrsB I think its perfectly normal to think about testing the closer you get to your BFP due date :) I started off last cycle with the best of intentions - 'I'm going to wait, I'm not going to cave blah blah blah...' About 10DPO all of a sudden, testing was all i could think about... I caved at 11dpo and af arrived 12dpo .... :( I think its a lot harder to resist when you've got no distractions. Good Luck - keep us posted :)
Enjoy Lego Batman xxx

Half term for me this week so off to cinema to watch lego batman with kids. Then they go to their dads for rest of half term. That's when it will get harder trying not to test til Saturday! I've waited this long what's a few more days. Why am I suddenly thinking about it constantly?? FX for everyone.

Hippychic79 · 15/02/2017 10:18

That's if you want to test early xxx

OP posts:
Hippychic79 · 15/02/2017 10:18

I think testing with a frer at 10dpo is the best bet (humble opinion / based on observations from mn threads) xxx

Morning Magpie
I've read that implantation happens 6-10dpo and remember ovulation happens 24 -36 hours after positive opk (that's the clear blue digital ones not sure about ic's) .....
Eeeeeek I wish i was in 2ww

MissMagpie · 15/02/2017 09:52

I totally agree with the satisfaction felt after seeing the smiley face on the OPKs. It is so reassuring to know something is happening!

My in laws have arrived for a stay so I am glad I am not in FW now. That could have been difficult.

I am 6dpo now and definitely have sore boobs. I know this as my DS kicked me in the chest while rolling around in our bed and it was agony! However, although not every cycle, I have had the whole sore boobs thing before so trying not to read too much into it yet!

If you have 12 day luteal phase, at what point would you implant and make hormones that create symptoms? Because if it's too early, then every twinge has to be due to something else!

Which is also why doing a pg test early is not going to get a bfp, if you can wait a bit longer!!

Hippychic79 · 15/02/2017 09:37

Wow Moo - I'm impressed with you oh too ... lovely idea about the verses too. I've written dp a few poems but I didn't bother this v day ... I wish I had now xxx

Morning Charley
Morning Moo

Cd5 ..... 😴
Another 9 days to go till peak for me .... i think I called it 1wfw - 1 week fertile wait or something like that.
Yeah I wouldn't recommend not using opks ... I think it's quite easy to miss the optimum time if you don't use them and although it would be lovely to just not think about tTC all month and wake up to a bfp ... i think we would miss each other too much :)))

Love the positive picture vibes hippy - thank you :)

The middle one reminds me of a valentines verse I did for oh - I always get him a card and fill it with "roses are red" verses relating to things we have done in the previous year, planning to do etc. So one of this years verses was

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Ttc, af, opk, fw, dtd, 2ww, poas, fmu,
I can't wait to have a baby with you! Grin

I was impressed he knew what they all meant - although he did do research when we started ttc and he was the one getting the opks and telling me to poas so he probably knew what they meant before I did!

Moo31 · 15/02/2017 09:21

Morning all!

Not selfish at all to treat yourself during the post af / waiting for fw time. I've enjoyed a few glasses of Wine

I've heard stories like that too - people who give up and fall pg. I like the idea of not opk'ing etc but in reality I'm a bit of a control freak and would probably go crazy not knowing whether we had got the right time or not. I feel like I want to give myself the best possible opportunity.

Your cat is lovely Bella - oh would love a cat but I'm allergic :s

Charley2016 · 15/02/2017 07:45

Morning ladies. Thanks for the quotes hippy. Positive as always.

Bella I wanted to do a relaxed 'fuck it' month as everyone who knows keeps telling me I 'can't put so much pressure on it' but all I do is OPK and obviously time dtd so I'm just going to do that this month, but do SMEP rather than dtd everyday. Your cat is beautiful! Looks so chilled too!

Rose and hippy, same here with the boobs. Really tingly and hot, more uncomfortable than sore and never normally get that after period.

Ugh wish we could fast forward a week! I totally agree that the week after AF is just a waste haha! Although this weeks gone quite quick so far thankfully!

Hippychic79 · 15/02/2017 07:32

I like that one too Bella :))) I thought it was pretty apt as we all try so hard.

I took the casual approach since I met dp - not exactly resigned myself to it not happening as I would never do that .... goes against my PMA lol ... but casual in that We just had unprotected sex and I thought sooner rather than later I would be upduffed ... I love the example though ... twins would be my preferred choice as I'm 38 and WILL have two children :))

BellaMoon · 15/02/2017 07:02

@hippy - love this one. soooo true!

hope you're on last day of any AF signs and you can do a bit of "treat yourself days" before OPK.

has anyone tried the "resign yourself to be fact it's not going to happen" method and then conceived? my friend did that, after 7yrs of TTC, stopped tracking etc, booked a holiday, went out and had a lot of fun, then discovered at 42 she was preggo with twins!

x

Hippychic79 · 15/02/2017 06:50

Morning Bella - thank you for the pic of your cat ... black cats are lucky :))
I'm exactly the same in terms of giving it my all ... thus all the tTC books and research -I think it's a good thing and shows how much we want it xxx

OP posts:
Hippychic79 · 15/02/2017 06:47

Moo - I can't remember what I called it now but it is soooo boring waiting for af to clear off and fw to arrive... and I'm feeling anxious too .... I think as the months go on it's natural to feel more anxious about it ... my anxiety is very much around timing as dp doesn't know how hard I'm trying so he doesn't realise how important the peak day is ... I need to catch him within 48 hours of that smiley ... and then and I got to hope and pray he can finish dtd .... and that's exactly what I am doing this month ... praying morning noon and night! You're post made me laugh too so thank you ... It's so reassuring to know I'm not alone with some of my feelings and as I can't share how I feel with dp about it, or even my friends ... I really don't know what I would do or how I would get through without you ladies ... so.....
Thank you ladies xxx

OP posts:
BellaMoon · 15/02/2017 06:45

thanks for the reassurance @moo - i knew i'd become obsessed as i'm like that, always give my 100% but by god, this is a mindfield of emotions, stern internal talking to oneself AND having to tell DH that the cat normally does sit on my belly of an evening and no it's not a sign that i'm upduffed even though i did think that myself for a wee while

i thought of my days post AF but pre ovulation as my time to get any guilty pleasures out the way with - sort of "treat myself days" is that selfish? probs is soz 🙈

said cat picture attached - stalker much? lol

OP posts:
Hippychic79 · 15/02/2017 06:40

Bella ... still making me smile... my dp would have said the same about the footie :)). And yeah tTC is definitely an emotional rollercoaster ... at least we've got each other and our dp's to ride it with ... hopefully the ride won't be too much longer :))

OP posts:
Hippychic79 · 15/02/2017 06:34

Charley - nice to hear that I'm not the only one with a dp who won't come near when af is in town. Fortunately she was light last so I had a quick shower and managed to get my wicked way without him noticing - which sorry tmi coming up ... caused a bit of a secondary surge in af this morning :(

Rose - I feel for you I really do, strangely enough my boobies seemed to do the same this month in that they were tender and tingly for almost a week! I know what you mean about limbo ... it's almost like if you're coming af just bloody hurry up (sorry about the pun).
I like crafting but don't do it very often - since you mentioned your house drawing I'm determined to do draw a baby ... I love his idea and got my how to draw book out at the weekend ... dp is working this wk end so I'm hoping to get round to it ... like you it's a bid to take my mind off it ... but then drawing a baby is kind of missing the distraction point 😂
