Ok so I am bravely attempting to set up a new thread for anyone tTC.
Plug in your stats ...
Share the highs of your journey
Limit the lows - yes it's a challenging time but being negative gets you down.
I'm thinking positivity breeds positivity and positive thinking gets positive results -
It may take some of us a little longer than others ... but does that matter? I think not.

New rules - instead of saying af due ... we say bfp due ...

So here goes ... my stats
Age 38
Cycle 3
Bfp due 14/02

Thank you! It is especially as my job is very stressful both physically and mentally. My boyfriend is 30 and we decided to start sooner rather than later as there is a few of my family members with fertility problems. Baby dust to all Halo xxx

welcome Zeb :)
I think we all get frustrated with this TTC lark - I think its perfectly normal. PMA - you're 25 years old... you've got time on your side.
Completely empathise on the shift front thing... especially the tiredness that stems from an erratic shift pattern and the effect that has on dtd .... its reassuring to know we're not alone... think lots of us are in the same boat :))

I'm sure all our time will come this year xxx

That's it - I'm shopping for 🍍🍍🍍🍍tomorrow!! Think that's why I've avoided opks for so long - the expense!
@SalemTheTeenageWitch - "upduffed"! Love it! Didn't realise stress spotting was even a thing. The body is capable of crazy (and cruel) things when we are TTCSad Hopefully any subsequent bouts of cramping and spotting are a sure fire sign of your BFP!!

Kaydee2017 · 23/01/2017 21:47

Excellent quotes hippy Grin

SalemTheTeenageWitch · 23/01/2017 21:17

My DH is the same but he is very "understanding" during FW! Ive been eating pineapple this week, woohoo!

I have caved in and bought a digital OPK - £20 for 10, yikes!!!!

sweetcheeks I am the same during 2ww. Last time, I think I had convinced myself l was upduffed to the extent I gave myself stress spotting & consequently thought that was implantation bleeding. Pathetic of me!!!

sweetcheeks24 · 23/01/2017 20:36

Pineapple and bed socks - how random! You'd think bed socks might hamper getting started with dtd Wink Not the sexiest bedroom attire! Haha. If I figure out a way to increase DH's libido, I'll share my findings with you!!! Grin

Hippychic79 · 23/01/2017 20:08

Glad you like the quotes Sweet :)
Acupuncture certainly can help with tTC as can opks ... all I need to do now is find a miracle cure to get my oh's sex drive up and I'll be well away :))))
I've also read on here that pineapple is good to eat to aid fertility and wearing bed socks ....
All tips welcome :)))

I love today's quotes, HippyChic! Smile
Hope everybody has had a good day!
I'm learning so much from this thread already - how have I never heard of fertility acupuncture before?! And I have also never tried opks- no wonder it took me so long first time round....naively thought I didn't need to do anything to help things along! Now I know better!
I'm starting to get those confusing cramps that make me wonder if I'm implanting....had them for the last 3 cycles! Strangely, I don't ever recall having had cramps before AF in the past (always during) - seems my body wants to mess with my mind!! Anybody else starting to feel any "am I or am I not" symptoms during their 2ww??

  • meant to read - a faint squint of a line :) xxx

Hippychic79 · 23/01/2017 18:04

Salem - i would stick with the acupuncture if you can afford to at that price. You're right it is very relaxing :))
I would do what tonks said - hold your wee for 4 hours before testing, don't drink too much water and test twice a day ... if still no result I'd personally switch to clear blue digital but others may disagree... I used cheap ones from savers initially and was pinky getting a very faint spuint of a line. I gave the opks a rest for a month or two, started acupuncture and then moved onto digital clear blue opks.

What does everyone else think?

Glad you like the quotes :)))

I know £35 is really expensive for acupuncture! She put about 9-10 needles in but it was relaxing!

Just did another opk on CD13 and negative! Not even a hint of a line. I know Ive only been off the pill since October but surely I should be getting a feint line on the OPKs?
I'm using the babymad ones from Amazon. Is it worth buying the digital ones?

Last month I could tell I was Ovulating as I did have some ovulation pains. Hmmmmmm.

Sorry for being so stressed!!!! Hope everyone else has had a good day & love the quotes Hippy.

Anne FF gives you an in depth chart which tells you all about your temp & dpo. I think it's good if you track BBT.

AnneLovesGilbert · 23/01/2017 15:11

Interesting to see views on Ovia, what do you not trust Tonks? I have pretty regular cycles and to date the FW predictions have been right, my data coincides with what it says.

I haven't used Fertility Friend but might give it a go. How's it different?

Tonks - it sounds like your cycles are just settling down, I think 23 - 28 is within the range they should be. I know they say 28 days is the ideal, but we're all different, so we all have different cycle lengths. I'm glad mine was a bit shorter this month, the 2ww is shit when you know you're out already cuz you dtd! LOL
Good luck with your acupuncture appointment tonight - SNAP, I've got one tonight too. Wow £45 - I'm guessing your in the london area... try and see if she'll do you a deal on a course of say 6 or 8, I'm not sure 1 will be enough, but i might be wrong... it only takes one sperm after all :))))) xxx

Welcome Kaydee - :) Loving your Monday PMA... wish i was 27 lol .... first cycle ... just relax and have fun ... enjoy the ride (DH and on here :))

Hi ladies, can I join too??

Cycle 2
CD11
No idea when BFP due, last cycle was 30 days so here's hoping Grin

On a couple of other threads but love this idea!! My PMA this cycle is that me & DH are both only 27, and this is 1st 'proper' cycle after 1st 'proper' AF after coming off the pill!

Happy Monday all Brew

Tonks87 · 23/01/2017 13:34

Hippy my luteal phase is 12 days so this cycle will be 23 days, my shortest one since coming off the pill last August. Last month I Ov'd on CD 16 so had a 28 day cycle.

I have my first fertility acupuncture appointment booked for later today (£45 a pop!). FX it will help something stick!

Anne I like Ovia for the facts and use it as a back up for fertility friend but I don't trust anything it says!

Salem do you hold your wee in for 4 hours and limit fluid intake before doing OPK's? That's what I do, I also test at least twice a day. My surge is quick so I can have a negative in the am and a positive by the pm.

Hippychic79 · 23/01/2017 13:20

I like the apps but they are a little contradictory - I use Ovia and Glow and they say slightly different things regarding fw.
Which brand of opks are you using? I was using the cheaper ones where you need to detect the line and they didn't work for me so i moved onto the clear blue digital ones with a blank circle for no and a smiley for yes... they are a little bit expensive but i would definitely recommend them. Two months of using them and I've had a smiley at CD13 and CD14... issue i've had is dtd after the smiley face.... due to oh working loads and last month we both had colds... so frustrating!
Wow £35 is a lot - do you know how many needles you had? I only have 6 sometimes 8 every week. If she's a fertility expert she will definitely be able to help... I'd call her and see if she'll do a deal... PMA :))))

Anne I love Ovia, too. It may not be the most "technical" app but I like reading the tips and looking at my score. I'm glad you had a good rest, as Hippy said, there is nothing as good as a great sleep!

Hippy that is such a good price! I used to have acupuncture for another health concern and it was good. The lady who did it specialised in fertility. It was £35 a session however!

I'm just going to opk tonight when I get home from work. I am confused though because FF has told me I have already ovulated because of my tenpterature. I don't think I have thought as my OPKs have been negative and Ive not had EWCM.
I am positively sticking to Ovia's predictions of Fw!
