Oh no Dancing was it a midstream one?

confusedat23 · 29/01/2017 10:52

The thing i am most worried about is because i am left on my own on the reception desk for long periods of time what will i so if i get morning sickness?... ladies who have had this... is it very sudden or would i have time for someone to come and cover before i lock myself in the bathroom?

OP posts:
confusedat23 · 29/01/2017 10:47

Parsnips i work in Security so its very male orientated (i am the onlt female and the only receptionist in our team) and so therefore i get a lot of comments and actions from my boss to make me feel uncomfurtable about the fact i want a child... this is all because they don't want to have to work with someone else!

To be honest i think the whole thing is petty! I am only going for 6 months anyway and then provided my job is still there i will be back full time..

How far into TWW are you para?

OP posts:
orangefolly · 29/01/2017 10:40

Parsnips that's excellent - your boss sounds great!

DancingUnicorn · 29/01/2017 10:37

Just managed to waste all my fmu by completely flooding my first hpt. Fail.

Parsnips sounds like a really cringey conversation to me! But at least it has a positive message! No discrimination there!!

confusedat23 · 29/01/2017 10:34

Omg yay flashing smiley!! Grin

**Confused you are so right, it's the 2 ww that feels like 2 months!

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 29/01/2017 10:28

Oh I had such a cringey conversation with my boss this morning. He is planning a holiday with his wife and asked me if I would be concerned with traveling to a Zika area and I said it depends. I said generally I wouldn't be too worried but (since he brought it up) I said if he is planning to have baby number 2 he should be careful as he needs to wait 6 months from being in Zika area. He clearly is planning to as he was quite disappointed with this. Then I said maybe get the private test done when you get back which he was delighted about as he hadn't heard of that. Much awkwardness during conversation as we aren't that close and are clearly chatting about impregnating his wife.

Anyway we were then talking about a promotion I am applying for and he said if I can't get made up this year then it will definitely be the year after - no matter the circumstances and even if I am taking any long periods of leave for whatever reason - cue much embarrassment on my part. I just laughed and said 'ok that's enough Zika chats'. I just found the entire thing so awkward but also quite a relief in that he has clearly considered I might be on mat leave in the next year or so and is supportive of that.

There's only two of us in my team so it will cause a few logistical difficulties with me being off. Has anyone else had any weird work comments. I didn't confirm anything but feel like the game is up. Probably should've played dumb about Zika knowledge!

confusedat23 · 29/01/2017 10:11

Yeah Mummy i completely understand why you don't like it tbh! Even though i havn't done this mornings one i havn't even gotten out of bed yet lool i am still just expecting a negative!

Well Jupiter i say this is my plan... getting DH to go along with it however is another matter!! we DTD last night and he pulled out!?!? Said it was a psychological thing! (Good thing i was using it as a practise run eh! Lol) but if he does it again i wont be happy cry quietly to myself in the bathroom lol

Ooo thats a good idea for making possible AF seem better!... going on Goupon now!

Mummyme87 · 28/01/2017 20:02

I didn't like the CB OPK in the end.. not worth the money. Will stick to the normal ones.... she says 🙄🙈

HeyJupiter · 28/01/2017 19:23

Ohhh DH and I have just booked a couple of nights at a posh hotel (thanks groupon) as a belated valentines thing. The first night there is when AF is due... so might end up testing in the hotel room and if negative can console self with lovely dinner and wine. Like we all said last month, need to have something nice to look forward to if it doesn't happen!

HeyJupiter · 28/01/2017 19:22

Haha confused I'm liking the fact we are DTD-ing in the same way for the next two months. We can set up a research trial - if we both get pregnant at the same time then that's proof (kind of) that a particular method works Grin

CB OPKs are so expensive but I do like them.. although by day five of the flashy smiley face you will want to punch it!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 28/01/2017 18:48

Yeah I saw the thread. Got waxed last pregnancy no problem.

Gonna try neighbour again in the morning!

confusedat23 · 28/01/2017 18:46

I missed a whole load of posts then =S...

jupiterI'm just gonna stick with my origial DTD plan but was hoping CBD OPK would back it up.. i don't think i will be buying anymore though tbh... and i'm the same as you i'm going to do DTD EoD from CD 7 to CD21 once these are gone =)

Para i think first week or 2 in the cycle goes so quick!..

Oh Grumpy did u see that thread about waxing?... i think i would want a nice tidy up before birth too! Lol... your neighbour has had your OPKs for ages!

OP posts:
Mummyme87 · 28/01/2017 18:40

Some nail varnish, shellac, fake nails can affect being able to monitor saturations (oxygen levels)... however this is rare to be fair. You can use toes instead. We get plenty of women with acrylics and can monitor easily.

I feel more positive today now AF has arrived, bring on cycle #3. Fertile week is 3-10th Feb and AF due 23rd Feb.

confused I had 6days of flashing OPK before my static 1st time I used clearblue.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 28/01/2017 18:31

I'm still gonna wax and have shellac! Paranoia modern medicine is not gonna take that away from me!

Red that's interesting.. wish I had my OPKs already! Maybe I can convince DH to DTD tonight.

confusedat23 · 28/01/2017 18:14

You can have gel polish because you can pull it off quite easily if you need to... i thought the whole can't have fake nails due to hospital not being able to monitor Oxigenation levels was rubbish until i was in hospital with fake nails on!

I'm only going by what my preggo friend was told though... i havn't heard about the uv lamp stuff though!!... Mummy you can probably help a bit more with this topic!!!

Please don't say i can't have Shellac either!!! Sad lol

Parastars · 28/01/2017 17:22

Been manic at work so haven't had chance to keep up. So many pages!
Good thing is the busy week means I'm now on CD13, still 'Low' on cbfm but at least getting hopefully closer.

Definitely need to drink more water.

Redpony1 · 28/01/2017 17:17

grumpy i did have sore breasts a few weeks ago but this week my nipples have been super sore and that would coincide with my positive OPK

buzz you are going to be POAS a lot not you have them! Haha

HeyJupiter · 28/01/2017 17:15

Oh and confused I think most people only get a couple of days of flashing faces before the peak face so don't worry if you don't see yours for another few days. In december I had two flashing face days and last month I had five so I think it can vary a lot!

HeyJupiter · 28/01/2017 17:14

Grumpy and Confused I was wondering about nails too. I have a gel lamp kit at home that I like to use but have been told (by the internet) that I can't when I do get pregnant? Seems quite over the top!!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 28/01/2017 16:43

Oh sorry just read that properly confused so shellac is allowed but fake nails aren't? Why?

TheGrumpySquirrel · 28/01/2017 16:42

I am not giving up shellac when pregnant it's just ridiculous the amount of things that are "not allowed" Hmm plenty of pg women in my nail salon!!

I'm still waiting to get my OPK pack as was delivered to a neighbour and they aren't in, I just tried. Waaa!

confusedat23 · 28/01/2017 16:40

Awhhh those baby clothes are beyond cute!... i do agree girls clothes are nicer than boys!

I am really hoping for a girl as SIL has a lovely DS but cant help but feel like if we have a boy they will always be compared...

Buzz did u get the kit like me and Grumpy?

Sorry for AF Mummy

No flashing OPK yet Jupiter if its 5 days of flashing it should start tomorrow!.. looking for peak on Fri and so DTD athon from Mon-Fri (hopefully) but i dont want to burn DH out too early so may start from Tuesday as doubt mondays swimmers would last that long (although with the amount he drank last night they will be pissed!)

Congrats on the coil removal Orange

I got my nails removed today and just shellac'd not because im hopefull of falling preggo abd being banned from fake nails i was getting annoyed with typing!

OP posts:
HeyJupiter · 28/01/2017 16:19

Sorry you're feeling rubbish Dancing, hope you've got nice things planned this weekend to take your mind off it.

Orange totally get where you're coming from. I think homeopathy is generally a placebo effect (which isn't a bad thing!) so you have to be on board really to get a result. I'm still curious so might look into it. Ditto on all the fertility superfood eating. Took me a week to get used to all the leafy greens but I'm loving them now. I do feel physically better for it too. Glad the coil removal went okay for you, nice that the nurse was enthused - it is all very exciting :)

mummyme hope your shift is over soon!
