Tigger hi cycle buddy, I'm due to ovulate Saturday 5th so will be just ahead of you. It's hard as I know we did everything right last time too so am hoping luck will be on our side. DTDing every other day sounds like a good strategy. Fingers crossed for us both!

Tigger83 · 29/01/2017 18:26

Well we're at the start of the journey again. Keeping fingers crossed! It's hard because we know we did everything right last time! Decided on dtd every other day and i guess we'll see what happens this time. Oh is so sweet and I just really hope it works this time. Due to ov on Monday 6th I reckon so I'm really hoping.

HeyJupiter · 29/01/2017 18:23

LovelyDinosaur is absolutely spot on confused, hope you're okay.

Wiggley I routinely put on 4-5lb when AF comes, more so if I've indulged a bit. In fact I can put on 3lb overnight if I've had a salty meal or eaten a bigger portion than usually. Scales are a bit rubbish generally but when I'm dieting I get addicted to ours.

I'm just maintaining at the moment but switching diet to healthier options which is helping.

TheLovelyOtherDinosaur · 29/01/2017 18:18

Oh confused I can see why you'd be upset. I think we all want our DH's to be completely in love with the idea of ttc like we are but I think they get more freaked out and feel the pressure more than we do! I'm sure all will be fine next time. We've not be trying to concieve just yet but I'm sure my DH will need some more reassurance when the time comes!!

Wiggleyfingers · 29/01/2017 17:57

On a weight loss side of things...how much do you estimate you weigh extra during AF? I've just weight myself for the first time since New Year (Scales broke) and I'm about 10lbs heavier!! I nearly fell over!! Now, I know 10lbs is way too much to just be AF, I'm also taking into account I am wearing clothes and it's the evening as I normally weight naked after FMU on an empty stomach. But wowza! That was a shock. Hoicks up serious pants time to hit the diet hard!

HeyJupiter · 29/01/2017 17:28

Wiggley I guess in terms of jobs we'll just have to wait and see. Not going to let unsympathetic managers put me off having a baby. Have invested so much in my career and now it's time to look beyond that (or alongside it!)
It will work out whatever happens.

HeyJupiter · 29/01/2017 17:27

Confused nothing to be ashamed about, it's so hard when you want this SO much and we want our DHs to be exactly the same. I'm sure he really does want a baby but it isn't going to be consuming his thoughts in the way that it is with ours. At least you are communicating. You're allowed to get upset, this is emotional and draining, but it will be worth it in the long run. My DH once said that he can't fall in love with the idea of a baby in the way that I can but he will be in love with a real life baby when he/she does come.
Good advice from Wiggley there too about going on top! Flowers it will be okay on tuesday, he knows the deal now.

Wiggleyfingers · 29/01/2017 17:21

Confused don't feel shame! It's perfectly understandable and he will understand too. There is so much pressure and build up to the fertile week and it must be horrible to dtd just for it all the be waste of time! Well done for talking about it, it feels like there is no end to the craziness sometimes and your reaction was just an expression of that. Maybe next time you can go on top and take control of the situation! Blush

confusedat23 · 29/01/2017 17:14

Grumpy lines depend on you really!.. i pretty much get paper white negatives on my opks until the surge... oddly i still trust them more than CBD!

Well pmt and early preggo can be the same Mrs you're not out yet!

Hmmm well... i think i have reached a new Psycho level... we just dtd and DH pulled out again! I completely lost my shit. I just burst out crying and told him to leave me alone Blush i guess you could be right Jupiter i just had a talk with him about it and he didn't completely realise the smiley face meant cram as many sperms up your foof as you can! He's focussing on next weekend not this weekend and didn't get the memo that its too late. I think i'm going to leave it tomorrow and try again on Tuesday as peak not till Fri (according to last month) but if he pulls out then i am not entirely sure what to do

I am still annoyed with him for his inability to listen to me but that is mixed with the concern that he doesnt want this (he has confirmed again he does but i am a perpetual worrier) and my shame at reacting like i did...

Jupiter my boss would be the same. A colleague of mine recently tried to come back from maternity leave but had to find a new job as they wouldn't give her part time. It was so sad and I can see the same happening when it's my time.

MrsC I get the same doom and gloom pmt mood! Just coming out of it now as AF appeared over night (woke up with an awful leaky feeling at 5am this morning like a teenager)

Para how long are your cycles?! Mine around around 30 days so I got my peak on CD16 and the. AF exactly 14 days later. This was my first month POA-OPK-S so all very new to me!

Buzz are you still around? My DP worked Friday night and I had had a few glasses of wine and started adding lots of gorgeous baby clothes into my John Lewis shopping trolley! Told DP when I got home and he gave me the most concerned look! HmmI think he really thinks I've taken all the biscuits from the crazy box. Blush

HeyJupiter · 29/01/2017 16:28

grumpy thats great about the OPK pack. At least you have some way of measuring whats going on now!

HeyJupiter · 29/01/2017 16:28

confused I guess it was just habit for your DH to pull out. He needs to get used to not having to! I’m sure by the end of the week he’ll be in a new routine :) Oh and yay for flashing smiley! Glad I’m starting my testing tomorrow, will make me feel like I’m doing something positive towards TTC instead of hanging about. Hope your DH is okay, it's easy to make this all about us isn't it!

Parnsips that’s really good of your boss (however strange the conversation). My boss will be super-sweet on the surface but seething inside when I tell her. She is vile. Thank god for the protection the NHS puts in place. If I worked for a different company I would be positive I would be shipped off to work elsewhere, especially as I plan to go part time.

MrsC sorry about the Sunday blues. I can totally empathise, feeling bit miserable this end too. My job is a weird combination of really stressful and really boring. I think being in baby-making mode makes it worse as I keep fantasising about being a mother now and having more of a balance between work and home. This is a big step after years of being so career focused. We’ll get there lovely.

Mummyme87 · 29/01/2017 16:09

I'm enjoying not POAS.

Full of cold.. constantly ill since before Christmas. Enjoying a day off 😀

MrsC2017 · 29/01/2017 15:58

confused I'm an administrator and I work in education.... Its not very rock and roll! The panel I'm on is administration again but in a bigger department with better conditions, progression opportunities etc! Anyway it's fine I'm just moaning and feeling sorry for myself, I think it's pmt, this is how I usually feel in the week before AF and I don't feel remotely pregnant so I reckon come Wednesday or Thursday AF will be in full flow!
para I def find the pre ov weeks worse than the tww, it's really thumb twiddling time!
confused poor DH, I think men do worry about the whole thing but keep it all bottled up!

Parastars · 29/01/2017 15:43

confused I'm not, CD14 but still 'Low' on clearblue fertility monitor. I have a while yet before we can get baby making/2ww waiting Hmm

I understand people's job frustrations and worries. I have the same in mine and already a bit worried about finances, maternity leave and the impact on my career for taking time off. But then I push these to the back of my mind and think that I will just deal with it when the time comes!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 29/01/2017 15:36

Faint line normal throughout cycle apparently (just read the instructions). So I need to see it getting darker to conclude anything

TheGrumpySquirrel · 29/01/2017 15:28

Oooo very faint second line just appeared on the OPK.. that means things are gearing up maybe???

TheGrumpySquirrel · 29/01/2017 15:21

Got my OPK pack! Just did a test and it's negative so no further clue where I am in cycle or if I'm even cycling yet lol. At least this gives me a way to monitor so when something starts happening I'll know!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 29/01/2017 14:39

Confused that is so cute!!!!

confusedat23 · 29/01/2017 14:27

Awhh Mrs sorry to hear about work... what is it you do? Also im very glad its not just my DH! Lol

Its ok Dancing if you get your BFP tomorrow it will be the best Monday ever!

Hmmm Parsnips i am not sure what i will do then! Maybe keep some sick bags by my bin =( lol

So i showed DH the smiley on OPK this morning and he asked me what it meant so i said that it means i'm fertile and he got really sad and said well that means your fertile but what about me?... i think he literally broke my heart... i mean what am i meant to say i did the whole it will be ok i'm sure you are and if not thats ok bit but the look on his face... Sad i guess i get so wrapped up in my fertility and feelings etc that i havn't thought about his!

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 29/01/2017 14:20

I think people just like guessing. It's like when they say "ooh I had a feeling" when you tell them your preggers - they just like to be in the know. I really don't know how anyone conceals it til 12 weeks - I feel like everyone will know before I do at this rate!

MrsC2017 · 29/01/2017 13:15

Hi girls! Had a busy weekend, it flew by, it always does! 7dpo, not a sniff of anything happening!
grumpy I get that too and was also very much on the fence until we decided in the summer!
unicorn oh sugar but maybe it was a sign to wait! Hope it wasn't a fancy test!
parsnips oh God I hate them awkward boss moments! But at least you know he's supportive of your career no matter what, which is the way it should be.
jupiter that's a great idea, the spa day I went on yesterday was bliss and was a steal on Groupon! Great deals to be had!
orange congrats on being cool free, let the fun begin!
confused men... DH went rummaging through the condom drawer and I was like eh.... no need and he said oh ya I forgot 😂
I'm dreading work so much these days, it's just so boring and I'm starting to really resent that, coupled with some colleagues who take the piss constantly that nothing can be done about for various reasons! No sign of the other panel I'm on moving either.... Clearly I have a case of the Sunday blues Sad

TheGrumpySquirrel · 29/01/2017 12:59

When another girl in my office announced her pregnancy the other day everyone was like "it's gonna be you next" and I just laughed it off saying no way I have a very nice life thanks .. they know I have an older DD but also that I'm the main breadwinner so I'm hoping that will make them a little less quick to expect me going off for a year or expect me to do serial mat leaves. Neither of which I would do anyway but I'm worried that they'll think that. It's so annoying just because I got married they suddenly think I'm gonna have a baby. When they know I've been with DH for years and I already have a child. It's crazy! We were very much on the fence about doing it at all until recently!

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 29/01/2017 10:59

Confused from some of my friends tales on morning sickness I doubt you will have time if it's bad. My cousin would literally just throw up - no warning at all! Sounds grim!

DancingUnicorn · 29/01/2017 10:57

Yes it was confused. Feel like such an idiot! Not only for being unable to control myself (only cd 24 of 26, so I should have just waited!!) but for not rent being able to do it right!

My fear at work is that a lot of people at my level are female and around my age. Boss will be up the creek (as you say) if we all get pregnant at the same time! But also feel like work can't dictate what you can and can't do. Hopefully when it happens for you confused they'll all be happy for you!
