Thread 24. TTC #1 - It's been a tough start to the year but 2017 is still the year of the BFP

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

It's not been the best start of the year for most but we're still trying to keep it PMA Star

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

That's great you've been referred flash and can get a specialist to look into what's going on. Yes let's hope a BFP intervenes and you don't need the poking and prodding after all

Fx for your swab results EJ
*
Kath* that sounds lovely to me! With DH working away a lot I'm very much used to the telly and sofa and cat all to myself 😊 it's great.

Pyjamas we all need a blow out from time to time, it sounds like you had fun! I don't think it will make a jot of difference either

Good luck chatting to your Mum skipper it can be nerve wracking bringing it up, and I hope she has the reaction you need. My mum often laughs - not in a nasty way but trying to make light of it - still not helpful! And reminds me how easily she conceived four children... again not helpful... and usually tells me not to get stressed and to relax. My biggest TTC pet hate!! Haha thanks Mum.

Hi all I've been out of the loop for ages for some reason I could not log in and when I tried to reset my password it didn't send me the link Angry so set up a new profile now!!
AF still due 31st so who knows. Doubt I'm in this month as we've not dtd that much...we did dtd 2 days before ov but then after that not until 4 days after! It's been one of those months plus I'm kind of trying to get out of the habit of dtd for pure preggo reasons to keep the fires alive still Blush!
Anyways only symptom I've had is really sore boobs right from 4 days after ovulation which doesn't usually happen it's usually 5 days before AF not trying to read into it too much as my cycle is only just starting to settle down after BC. Damn sore though!
I'm going to catch up with the thread to see the news sorry if anyone has had AF or other news and I missed it Flowers

Flash - a referral is a great outcome, you'll get to deal with an expert now. GPS are okay but they generalise and a lot of the time a gynaecologist will pick up things a GP doesn't.

EJ - hope you're feeling a bit better about things after your appointment. Glad it went okay. Xx

Jam - have a lovely time this weekend, I'm going to go over to my mums. Am thinking of spilling the beans about my TTC journey as it will be just us two.

Pyjamas - ahhh so what? I think you're allowed a day of craziness from time to time. Good for you Grin

Flashinthepan · 27/01/2017 11:26

Thanks everyone! Yes I am symptom spotting like crazy at 7dpo. I don't know why, but I can't seem to stop myself. I will not test until at least next Friday, which will be 14 dpo!

MrsRonBurgundy · 27/01/2017 10:50

flash that sounds really positive! Definitely worth getting in the system but as Kath says, hopefully won't be needed!

Kath testing day twins! Fingers crossed for you

Pyjamas81 · 27/01/2017 10:32

Sorry about AF winging - really hope cycle 12 is your lucky one.

Honestly never knew about counting CD1 as the next day if after noon! I usually do get it in the afternoon.

Fx flash - hope it's all ok.

That sounds like a lovely weekend jam!

I'm pretty pissed off with myself today - went to work do and got pretty tipsy (not hammered though) on three glasses of wine and three beers. Just annoyed that we put in so much effort over this week and the first thing I do is something which won't help our chances. DH pretty annoyed with me - am totally in the doghouse. Especially as I came in at 1.30am and woke him up. Grumble grumble...

Kathrino · 27/01/2017 10:27

Cross posted with you Flash but that sounds positive! Good to get in the system for a referral but hopefully you won't actually need it. When I saw my doc earlier this week, he said that the majority of people he refers never actually make it to their referral appointment because they get their BFP almost immediately. FX for you!

Kathrino · 27/01/2017 10:25

Hope the doc is helpful Flash and she can reassure you.

Good luck for the results EJ, I had that last time I had a smear and it was absolutely nothing at all, just one of those things!

Jam, sounds like a lovely weekend and hopefully will keep you suitable occupied so you forget about being in the TWW!

MrsRon, I'm 9 days away from AF too. I am determined not to symptom spot this month. Let's see if I'm saying the same thing this time next week...

We're going out for a fancy lunch with my parents tomorrow. Haven't seen them since Christmas so it will be nice to catch up properly. DH is out with his old school friends tomorrow night too so I'm really looking forward to a solo Saturday night in front of the TV. How sad is that?!

Flashinthepan · 27/01/2017 10:21

So gp has referred me to the gynae. She said she is still not worried as my recent smear was fine and when they did my surgery they check ovaries, uterus etc and said all was fine. She said keep trying as if you get pregnant it will probably solve the bleeding! So if that's not an incentive to get upduffed asap I don't know what it.

Binkybunny13 · 27/01/2017 10:12

Hope it goes ok flash, fx for you it's something easily solved

Ej hope you're feeling ok after your appointment. Good news it doesn't look like its endometriosis

Hope you all have lovely weekends 😊

MrsRonBurgundy · 27/01/2017 10:12

EJ good luck for test results!

Flash hope your appointment goes ok

Jam wedding talk should be a good distraction! Hope it's a lovely weekend.

I'm 9 days away from AF being due and am going to wait until then to test. Trying not to read too much into every little thing and every twinge!

EJ2009 · 27/01/2017 10:06

I joined the ranks of people having fanjis prodded this morning. Went back to gp. She did an internal examination and prodded my tummy a bit. Thinks the prodding would have hurt me more if it was endometriosis.

Apparently my vagina & cervix are ok but i have a lot of discharge which i quote "suprised her" so she's taken some swabs. I get the results next week.

Flashinthepan · 27/01/2017 10:00

jam that sounds nice and just what you need. Hope you have a lovely weekend.

Flashinthepan · 27/01/2017 09:58

I'm sat waiting at the docs. 7dpo. Temp went up today but also have cramps like on first day of af so I'm glad I've come even though the spotting stopped a couple of days ago. Fingers crossed she'll say it's all normal!

Londonjam · 27/01/2017 08:37

Happy Friday girls Brew hope you've got nice weekends plans ahead. We're off up north to see the inlaws. BIL and his fiancé are coming down from Newcastle too so I'm hoping wedding talk will distract attention away from us! They're a lovely family and we've got some nice plans so I'm looking forward to it.

Fx for any testers

User26117 · 26/01/2017 21:50

Geez, this thread does move fast!

SmittenPears, a coincidence indeed. And yes, that sounds like a great plan!

Kwick, from one mermaid to another, your sentence wins the line of the day for me! Ha!

Winging, sorry to hear about AF - onwards and upwards. Flowers

Jam, well done you. All the love and strength coming your way x

EJ2009 · 26/01/2017 21:41

sk1pper kwick so pleased you have both had good outcomes today. I hope you are both resting easy tonight.

Just had a message to say our friends baby was born today. Their second. Getting my brave face ready to meet her.

Londonjam · 26/01/2017 21:21

Kwick don't you make me cry 😭

Really glad to hear it's all going well for you starmist do let us know how the scan goes - I'm sure it will be tip top

Sorry about AF winging I know the disbelief of reaching cycle 12, it sucks. Stay strong 💪🏼 we will get there 🌷

Kathrino · 26/01/2017 21:13

Oh gosh kwick, I have a bath every day (sometimes twice a day!). I don't know how your managing to survive without them!

kwick · 26/01/2017 21:11

sk1pper my clinic always advise me not to bathe after treatment due to risk of infection - probably as the "DTD" is not exactly "natural". I think, all going well, I have to stay away until 12 weeks. And then there will be NO STOPPING ME!!! I will become a mermaid!!!

wingingit Flowers
Tomorrow = cd1
My FC always counted anything after noon as next day

sk1pper · 26/01/2017 20:59

Sorry winging Flowers

Kathrino · 26/01/2017 20:55

So sorry for AF winging, hoping that cycle 12 is the lucky cycle for you Flowers I thought that if AF started after midday, you should count the next day as CD1.

WingingIt83 · 26/01/2017 20:42

So my mantra for cycle 12 is to stop crying, plan a fuck it outing for a few months time and generally get a grip!

Week2 of c25k just done in -2 so that was a good start to the month!

WingingIt83 · 26/01/2017 20:40

Thanks for the positivity ladies but I swear the witch watches me post as twice in a row she's arrived within hours of me posting!

So here we go into cycle 12, not something I ever thought I'd say. 28 days to the hour pretty much, and third month in a row she's arrived around the 5/6pm time. Would you therefore count today or tomorrow as cd 1? Last month I didn't count cd1 until the day after and it occurred to me that would have affected my subsequent cd21 bloods. ...guessing what's essentially half a day can't make much difference?

Starmist · 26/01/2017 20:38

Jam I'm good thank you. 9 weeks now but time goes so slowly waiting for the scan. Only 2 more weeks to wait now (midwife thinks I'm 1 week further along) so I'm glad it's not too much longer. Still lurking on here to check in on you all & wish you lots of luck xx
