Hi everyone I'm jumping on Grin

Ttc #3, I have 2 DS's (2+5) and hopeful for a girl this time although a healthy baby is my goal.

My last period was 20th January and my cycle can vary between 26-28 days. Dtd last night after helping DP to ahem finish himself firstBlush and then having sex after. I have been reading a lot online ( I know I know not all true ofc!) and found this technique and the shuttles method works best for a conceiving a girl.. only time will tell though I guess

Lovechild2016 · 30/01/2017 10:21

Welcome emberblu if you are 17PDO have you done a test? The first few cycles off the pill can be a bit hit and miss but fingers crossed!

Arr don't worry yet about BFN mistyB it's early days. I've been looking at the website too coffee3! It's really useful. Encourages me not to test too soon. Sorry you've been poorly, so annoying for you!

Currently 3 DPO and nipples are driving me mad! Obv ovulation related but as I think this is my first month that ive ovulated post-pill it's very encouraging!

I had discounted ovia as it predicted a very late ovulation for me but my OPK matched up so think it was right after all! I just find it useful to keep a record and interpret myself more than to use it for predictions etc tbh.

Emberblu · 30/01/2017 10:10

Hi all!

Hope you don't mind if I join, I'm new here and I need something to take my mind of my ridiculous symptom spotting!
Age: 26
TTC #1
Cycle#1 Blush
CD (cycle day?) 33...Confused
DPO 17

So I've had cramps for the past 3 days and keep expecting to see AF everytime I go to the loo!! So silly since we have only been casually trying for 1 cycle and since I came off the pill (progesterone only) on Xmas day I know it's too soon to hope and I'm just driving myself crazy already! It's nice to read threads like this and know I'm not the only one! If AF not here by Wednesday I will give in and test!

BluePheasant · 30/01/2017 08:53

Yeah I just have the free version of FF, I've got the calendar and a grid chart below. Only had it a couple of weeks though.

Glitterbubble · 30/01/2017 00:32

Oooh thanks for that link coffee I like that!! Grin

Glitterbubble · 30/01/2017 00:24

Phesant ... yep I'm thinking Ovia is about rubbish now too ..fertility friend does seem quite good but I'm not getting any of the charted data any more, it's telling me I need to be a VIP?? I'm pretty sure do didn't say that when I first got it... was it a free trial to begin with or something??

Hhaz ooohh I'm excited to find out if she was right or not now! Going to be looking out for you to report back!! Grin

Coffee3 · 30/01/2017 00:11

Misty don't count yourself out yet; if you're only 7dpo it's way too soon to test! I found an interesting table telling you when to test from and when not to bother, will try to link
www.countdowntopregnancy.com/tools/pregnancy_test_calculator.php
Im in 2ww- (Testing 5/2) but not especially hopefully as I have had a horrible virus since around predicted ovulation date and dh moved into the spare room! We dtd a few times (including 2 days before app predicted ov) but then nada. Only just feeling better today.

BluePheasant · 29/01/2017 23:39

Guess only way to know if you ovulate would be to do OPKs user but that could get expensive. Suppose best thing to do is just have regular sex and see if you get lucky! If really keen to ttc then maybe you will need to reduce breastfeeding to get your cycle to come back?

Ah Misty! Let's just pretend that didn't happen Grin still every chance you will get a bfp in a few days!

Blimey mrsbarnett lots of potential symptoms there! Fingers crossed!

hhaz yep that would get my hopes up too, let's hope she's right Smile

MistyBxx · 29/01/2017 22:41

Well after being all determined earlier, I only went and did a bloody test didn't I 😩🙈 and if was bfn of course! I'm not even due af til at least Thursday! God I'm so impulsive! So I know it's early but I'm sure I'm defo on the Feb bus now. I'm gonna do another test sat morning to be 100% sure but no doubt by then af will have probably arrived. I'm so annoyed with myself!! The most I am is 10dpo coz of my confused opks, the least I am is 7dpo, either way if I was pg I'm sure I'd have at least got a very faint line but nope, it was absolutely crystal clear except the one ominous purple check line 😩 bloodynora. It's put me in a right grump now lol x

harrypotternerd · 29/01/2017 22:36

is anyone else looking at ridiculously cute baby things???????????? or is it just me???

hhaz · 29/01/2017 21:57

DH just got a text from a friend we went out for tea with last week saying his girlf had said my boobs looked huge last week n she thinks I'm pregnant n she's really good at guessing these things. Af due on Thursday and now being driven mad, ppl shouldn't say these things!!

mrsbarnettsbaby · 29/01/2017 21:42

Ha bluepheasant I look pg! Boobs killing, feeling nauseous and hungry all the time. Too scared to test yet though. Good luck to you.

user1485703469 · 29/01/2017 21:24

No periods yet and doesn't feel like I've had any cramps or anything...I would think that if ovulation had started I would feel something...maybe not though

BluePheasant · 29/01/2017 21:16

Well if I'm not pregnant, I'm doing a v good job of looking pregnant! Am so bloated the past 3 days. Am lying on the sofa feeling fat and uncomfortable. I do get bloated before my period but am sure it's not normally this bad! (Not symptom spotting though Blush)

BluePheasant · 29/01/2017 21:07

Yes def possible. A friend at work had a surprise DC2 a lot earlier than planned as they didn't think it could happen while breastfeeding 😬
AFAIK womens fertility will vary a lot while breastfeeding. Some ovulate regularly even while exclusively breastfeeding, whilst others won't ovulate at all until they have completely stopped. Have you had a period yet?

Somethingtotalkabout1982 · 29/01/2017 20:55

One of my friends conceived her 2nd daughter whilst breastfeeding, it was a total shock but yes, definitely possible.

user1485703469 · 29/01/2017 20:30

We are starting ttc for #2, though DS1 is 6mo and breastfeeding so it may take a while. Has anyone got experience of ttc while ebf?

MistyBxx · 29/01/2017 17:49

Hi kungfu, I'm similar to you, jumped on this bus (only joined NM last weekend lol) am in 2ww cd25 and had very achey boobies for 4 days and I'm getting up in the night once to wee which is unusual but I'm either 10/8/7dpo (got opk all wrong this cycle lol) and desperately trying not to symptom spot as I was convinced I was pg last cycle then af arrived dead on time 🙈 had achey boobies a good week before af last cycle too.
I want to test but it's still too early and I sort of don't want to, if you know what I mean, I don't want to burst my own "what if" bubble, I know that sounds sad lol. Plus if it's a bfn now, I will have even longer to wait for my next fw! So going to try to hold out til Feb 3rd as I have a friend's big boozy birthday party Feb 4th so even though it may still be a day early (cycle usually 31 days) I will have to test then because it will determine whether I go to the party or make an excuse as the friend's I have will DEFINITELY not accept me present and not drinking lol 😂 so I'd rather not go at all! Hurry up 5 days!
Although I'm not holding out much hope, no change in sense of smell, nipple colour, implantation bleeding, fatigue or anything else, just sore boobies same as last cycle and an extra wee in the night!
Hope everyone is having a good weekend!x

Kungfubaby · 29/01/2017 17:28

Hi all,
Still no AF here! On CD 27, cycles average 25 days so I may have jumped on the Feb bus a bit too soon. After chemical last month I'm determined not to test until I'm well and truly late though, so I'll try and hold off until 1st Feb. Desperately trying not to symptom spot either, but my boobs are rather veiny...

Bluepheasant, no we haven't had any investigation as yet - was thinking about it in Dec as it had been a year, then got a bfp so were reassured we could conceive. Also we've not been great at DTD enough and at the right time, so I think we could try harder!

Hope everyone's had a good weekend. It's DS's 3rd birthday so we've been busy with that - a good distraction!

Charley2016 · 29/01/2017 16:25

Hey ladies, back from my weekend in London 😊 found out my cousin and uncle are both having little girls! I'm so happy for them both and they are all going to be such amazing little families but I found myself trying to not talk about myself and what I would do etc. Feel awful! So I'm 2dpo now so managed to dtd the 4 days before ovulation and can only keep my fingers crossed! I have a spa day Thursday which I already feel like I shouldn't be going to just in case but my sisters had it planned for ages and I would only be 6dpo if I was, so not sure how that stands!

MistyBxx · 29/01/2017 12:42

That's the folic acid I use too :) I know this isn't overly helpful but my parents had me aged 40 and 41, a whopping 14 and 18 years after my 2 big sisters! Try not to lose hope, it's so easy to say relax and don't think about it til you know you're able to test but I know how hard it is, my boobies are incredibly painful at the mo and I'm not due af til at least next Thursday, I'm constantly hungry also and am getting up in the night to pee which I've never done before, but I'm refusing to test until at least Friday next week. I'm 32 and am bursting to be a mum for the first time 💗💙 but nature will take its own course so do keep us updated and try and stay positive and relaxed, easier said than done I know xx

mrsbarnettsbaby · 29/01/2017 12:30

Thanks misty. I have 2 DD (13,11) and 1 DS (8). With them I took Tesco own folic acid which is what I am doing now. I have been taking ubiquinol but just run out. Have just started taking a multi vit with iron.
Feel so tired, dizzy and hungry all the time now. Boobs feel really heavy too. It's so hard not to convince myself I am pg. But I am too scared to test yet. Also could easily be peri menopausal symptoms. Good luck to everyone else.

BluePheasant · 29/01/2017 12:16

Hi all, just checking in, has been a busy few days.

I'm on 10dpo; nothing to report really. Very emotional yesterday but hard to know if that's horomonal or just because of a family upset that's going on currently (in laws, won't bore you with the details plus don't want to out myself!). Probably a bit of both, as often get like this at the end of my cycle. Situation is causing me to feel rather stressed and I'm sure that's not going to help our chances :(

Anyway, holding off testing early. Would rather see AF than a bfn I think!

Glitter using OPK did exactly the same to my dates on Ovia, it was about a week out! I promptly deleted the app tbh as didn't feel it had been helping. Now using fertile friend just to record things but will carry on using OPK to pinpoint ovulation from now on!

Kungfu have you been to your GP? I would have thought trying for 13 cycles would justify some investigation?

MistyBxx · 29/01/2017 12:08

Mrsbarnett are you taking any supplements? I'm only asking because although my cycles are pretty regular (28/29/30days) I took Pregnacare Conception one month, well not even a whole month, only about a week coz I kept forgetting and had a cycle of 39 days, it totally messed me up! I later read reviews (should have done that first really) and although it doesn't contain any hormones as such and had no ingredient which could scientifically alter cycle length, there's no other explanation, it did me and hundreds of others I read about online! I thought I was doing the right thing by supplementing but it wasn't right for me! Now I just take multi-maca and folic acid which are both natural xx

Mrsbluebell17 · 29/01/2017 11:51

Hi mrsbarnett it must be really hard for you to know when to test based on your long cycles. Personally my cycles are a little irregular (recent have been 33, 27 and 24 days) but I haven't any experience for long cycles. I would say see how you go, and it's got to be down to your gut feeling as to when you test. Fingers crossed for you x
