Help please; late ovulation

Hi All :)

AF normally arrives on the 5th/6th/7th of the month and lasts 6 or 7 days. Last month it was normal, coming on the 6th.

I normally ovulate 19th/20th of the month, but last month I didn't. I was quite ill so I put it down to that. I thought I was just going to skip a month but I got stretchy fertile quality CM on the 29th. Had a couple of tacky days and then been watery and abundant since. Checked around this morning and its very stretchy and my cervix feels more pointy and hard, and is low. I've had a bit of a pain where my left ovary should be for a few days now, but its gone today.

(Bit of background - I had an implant in for 7yrs - with no periods, and had it removed in February last year. AF arrived in May, skipped june, arrived on time in july, came late on 22nd in Aug then been pretty regular since).

Anyway, what I'd like to know is if I ovulated late, should I expect AF at the normal time or will my period come with the normal amount of days between ovulation & AF, so it will just be later?

What do I do about testing? A hpt needs to wait 2 weeks to show, its been 8 days since I ovulated but they say to test once AF is late. Is my AF late? Nothing will show as its only just about implantation time. Basically I'm confused Confused

If anyone can shed any light, give any insight or share your experiences like this, please do, I'd be very grateful.

Yesterday's symptoms tapered off as the day went on, bleeding gums when I brushed, metallic taste, cramps, nausea, sore boobs. CM was wet but not a lot like it has been.

Today 21dpo & BFN - all I've got is sore boobs really. Although I had a fair bit of blood when I brushed my teeth this morning again. CM is the same as yesterday.

I think I'm out, I think something has gone on & messed up and I'll just get AF when expected next month - either 5/6/7th Feb.

We can see the Dr from next month to start to look into whats going anyway as it will have been a year so I suppose we've got all that to go through now. I was really hoping this was it and we wouldn't need to have loads of tests etc.

I'd like to but I won't get an answer from the Dr before Saturday now so no drinks for me when we go out despite me thinking I'm out, just because you never know.

Very, very frustrating.

20 dpo today. BFN this morning (internet cheapy).

Yesterday I didn't have many symptoms during the day: bleeding gums in the morning, a bit of dizziness and slight nausea once or twice and the odd metallic taste, I was a little bit more hungry though, whereas I've had decreased appetite since last week, sore boobs - but once evening came around it all ramped up quite a bit - dizziness, a couple of episodes of nausea, metallic taste more often. Boobs were a lot more painful. Was really tired and went to bed at about 10. Had 'twinges'? in uterus, not really cramps, not quite a pinching feeling but I could definitely feel it. I don't normally get cramps before AF and once it comes its not normally bad, just a bit of an ache. What it felt like was like when you suck your stomach muscles in, but I wasn't. CM was very abundant and watery in the morning like it has been but dried up throughout the day and is now wet externally and pasty and white on my finger. Cervix is still high and soft.

I'm going to go to the Dr's on my way home tonight I think and see what they say about a blood test. I want to know before Saturday night really as its our anniversary on Monday and we're going out & I want to know if I can have a couple of drinks.

Does anyone know what happens/how long results take if you have a blood test? I assume I go to the Dr's and get a form to take to the hospital and they'll do it and then I have to wait for the results to go back to the Dr's? I won't know by Saturday will I?

19dpo and still BFN this morning.

Still getting symptoms - lots of CM, sore boobs, slight nausea, dizziness, metallic taste, lack of appetite, cramps - all being worse in the evening.

Other half said to book a Dr's app but I might wait until AF is 7 days late then give them a ring, so that will be in two days - Thursday.

Might just stop testing now and just do one once a week, on Monday mornings until AF comes back. I don't think i'm PG now but then i read a load of stuff last night about people who didn't get BFP until 3 weeks after AF was late etc so I really don't know what to think.

The cousin is 6 weeks along and they have been trying for about a year as well, they had started to think it would never happen for them either and that they would have to go down the IVF route so there is hope. I'm over my resentment/jealousy that I had the other day and am really pleased for them now I've come to my senses.

I had my implant out in Feb last year but AF didn't come in until May, been pretty regular so far, August was 2 weeks late, and now this last month has been odd.

I had a positive ovulation test 5 days ago... my withdrawal bleed ended on 26th December so I was about 18 days into a unknown cycle.

Do you think AF will show this Friday? (calculated from old cycle length) or in about 9 days? (from 14 days after comments)*

I don't know, you can never tell really, just have to wait & see what will happen.

Yes it's starting to get hard when I hear of other people announcing their PG's now. I feel awful for that but I also feel sad/jealous/upset/whatever.

Thanks Ashleigh9917 for your advice. Really disheartening when other people fall isn't it, I've been in the same boat. Difficult with the blood test too, I'm mega impatient so I I'll struggle to wait! X

LB89, all the reading I did said AF should come 14 days after the day you ovulated, so if you ovulate late, AF should be later.

Saturday 16dpo/Sunday 17dpo

Been sleeping the sleep of the dead, still getting dizzy spells & metallic taste, was a bit 'gassy', boobs were quite quite sore, had some slight cramps and I think my nipples might have got darker, I've never really taken much notice of the colour before, I think they are darker but I don't know if that's just wishful thinking. Still lots of cm. Not very hungry, slight nausea a couple of times.

Still BFN this morning.

And I just found out that DP's cousin is having a baby. He's the brother of the other cousin that is also having a baby. I didn't ask how far along or anything but I assume she's 12 weeks, they got engaged on Xmas day so I'm assuming they knew and waited to announce it.

DP said this morning about going to the Dr's and getting a blood test - and I know I should - but I don't really want to, in case I'm not, as it stands I'm still in with a chance until AF arrives. If that makes any sense. I know it doesn't because I want to know but I kind of don't if its not good news. Although I know its better to know if i'm not.

They didn't have those in Tesco's, just CB ones. I meant to test again this morning with the other one but I woke up late and didn't remember until i was already doing a wee. Then I remembered its Friday 13th today so I'm not testing today.

Haven't had any other symptoms, other than sleeping from 9/9.30 until gone 8 this morning. I also had a very realistic dream, that I was late for work and didn't wake up until 12pm - and then I got up late lol.

Thank you! I'm starting to get a bit excited now, but trying to reign it in, in case i'm not. I can't quite believe I could be, I'd started to give up hope of it ever happening.

I know that's terrible as there are people that have been trying for a lot longer than us, but I was starting to get quite disheartened really.
