Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

Happy New Year! It's 2017 and it's OUR year Star

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Welcome poochy, may your stay with us be short and sweet!

Peaches I promised myself that I would call the GP yesterday and then chickened out (and justified it to myself because it was the first day back and they'd be really busy...) but I will do it today too. I found it v hard when my best friend had her baby earlier this year although now he's a bit older (9 months), I'm finding it a lot easier because more of his personality is coming through rather than him being, in the nicest way!, a generic baby.

EJ, I agree that the stress may have caused a delay, even if it was right at the start of your cycle. I think that kind of shock to the system takes a while to work itself out. FX for an egg in the next few days!

High five to all my cycle buddies! I doubt very much that I'll be one of the BFPs but I'm rooting for the rest of you.

Peaches8Posies · 04/01/2017 09:56

pug harriet* hope you both had lovely birthdays WineFlowers

Peaches8Posies · 04/01/2017 09:53

sk1p glad your appointment went well. Yeh for moving forward with tests.

fx looks very interesting read the hycosy/tube flushing info. I can have it done privately for £450 (best price near me). I'm with you kathrino it gives me some sense of control. Plus I really cannot afford to loose several months this year waiting on referrals.

Sorry for posting lots of posts my phone is scrolling very slowly this morning. Like us all think it is rather sluggish to get started today Wink.

Peaches8Posies · 04/01/2017 09:46

pyjamas fuck it days sound great! Think I'm going to book a comedy/drinkscan night for end of this cyule, a good laugh and night out sounds just the tonic.

london hope your doing OK Flowers

Lots of newbies, welcome everyone Grin

Peaches8Posies · 04/01/2017 09:44

Wow! How chatty has this thread been Grin

peaches

Started ttc dec 2015
BFP Feb 2016 mc may2016
Not a hint of a bfp since!

Going to call today for gp appointment. Haven't managed to sleep last 2 nights thinking about ttc and it's literally the first thing I think about when I wake up Sad. Have been putting off visiting my friend and her new born, need to get my act together. I'm just rather scared how upset I'll be, silly I know.

Also have started pricing private tests incase NHS is going to take an age. Have convinced myself I have left it too late and will miss out on my illusive bfp.

kwick I had a bit of a read and I have started taking ubiquinol/coq10 last cycle. Fingers welcome back flash I also remember you from earlier threads.

ej maybe the strss/shock of dh accident has thrown your cycle a bit? Bodies do strange things without us realising.

Pyjamas81 · 04/01/2017 09:36

Congrats again mouse! Your story gives me hope as we missed first half of FW due to stupid early ovulation!

Hope you find that egg soon EJ - they play tricks on us sometimes.

EJ2009 · 04/01/2017 09:18

No jam not been poorly. Only thing out of ordinary was DH being in the accident on CD 1 but i'm not convinced thats it. Had EWCM cd 10 / 11 as normal. Maybe i just wont ovulate this month or maybe its late. Just odd as its never happened before.

Londonjam · 04/01/2017 08:39

Flash my UN was slightly different and slightly more revealing to my real identity

Thanks pyjamas I hadn't heard of that one

Welcome poochy hope you've got a BFP imminent!

EJ have you been poorly? That's the only time my egg has been delayed. Keep up the DTD!

Due this week we have me, kathrino, binky, Harriet, pug, bluebird, alexia and orangecloud. I reckon we should have 2 or 3 BFPs out of that, right? Fx for you all girls.

MouseLove · 04/01/2017 08:19

Welcome poochy.
I've been lurking but don't want to baby bomb (even though I don't feel preggers at all) but to give you a little hope. I got a BFN on CD32 and got my BFP on CD34. Only DTD 4 times and possibly 5 days before ovulation. Anything is possible. Invoking Sod's law helps. X

EJ2009 · 04/01/2017 08:13

Its good to hear so many of you getting your tests sorted. We all know how many people get their bfp just as they start tests x

I have a case of the missing egg. Im a day 13/14 ovulater every month. Im on cd 17 now and no +ve opk. No sore boobs which i get without fail after ovulation. My opks are getting lighter if anything. This morning i have af type pains as uncomfortable as if i'm due on. Maybe it will just be a late one. Hey maybe thats a positive... my day 14 eggs didnt make babies so maybe one thats been cooked a bit longer will Hmm

kwick · 04/01/2017 07:49

I knew I could count on you fxskip Grin
I too am trying to talk myself down off MC fear ledge - much the same way you are.

Welcome poochy!!!

On my way to work Angry

kwick · 04/01/2017 07:45

Welcome supper!!!
If you have a normal BMI then you should take 4 iu a day, however if like me your BMI is over 35 (you should check this number) then you should take 5mg daily that is 5000 iu. Unless you want to take a gazillion pills then GP can prescribe - what I do is take 4000 iu of Solgar Folate (folic acid in natural form so more potent) and then a further 800 iu through my PCOS supplement Inofolic (which also contains myo-inositol).

jam Flowers

Like your "fuck it days" plan pyjamas

I also take uniquinol/co-enzyme q10 - it helps egg quality. I strongly recommend this book:

sk1pper · 04/01/2017 07:29

Welcome poochy!

Ugh I hear you Hep - where the fuck did Christmas go. It's absolutely freezing here, so hard to drag myself out of le bed.

HepKestrel · 04/01/2017 07:12

Welcome back flash!

Pyjamas love fuck it days!

Right. Must get up and go to work. Sad

Poochymama83 · 03/01/2017 23:27

First post although been looking at mumsnet for tips for a little while now. Hi to all- Can I join late?

1st time TTC
Cycle 8
CD31 currently late for period

Usual cycles between 25-28, latest 30 days.
Can currently be found in the limbo joy of "don't think about it" "I'm not pregnant" "why hasn't my period come yet!" "I've already had a negative test so don't test again".

Never been at this point before but not enjoying it so far!! My body playing tricks on me as a NY joke to make the first week back at work all the more fun. Wink

Pyjamas81 · 03/01/2017 22:59

I'm the same sk1pper - it's comforting to have the support here of others going through the same thing.

London - the ubiquinol is to improve and preserve egg quality and was recommended to me as I am mid-30s and low AMH for my age indicates diminishing egg reserve. I'm taking 300mg a day (just started a couple of weeks ago).

Great info fx!

I hope we all get bfps, but if not, here's to some pretty damn fun Fuck It Days in the meantime!

Flashinthepan · 03/01/2017 22:46

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies. Thanks for adding me to the list jam. I remember you too, was your name something else with jam in? Technically I am in the 2ww but as we decided to start trying after I ovd I have no test date til next cycle. However my boobs have been hurting for the last week so they are already playing mind games!

FXSkip · 03/01/2017 22:37

kwick I am collecting data on the hycosy/hat and don't have enough empirical evidence to present a formal statistical analysis. I can only apologise for the delay.
In the interim you may find the following information interesting:

Women having OSCM tubal flushing had a higher rate of pregnancy and live birth than women who had no intervention. The evidence suggests that for subfertile women the chance of an ongoing pregnancy will be increased from 17% without intervention to between 29% and 55%

Also, nothing anyone says or does and no number of statistics is going to help ease your mind re mc. I know because I am going through the same thing. The best I can offer you is a sort of NLP technique where when a negative thought pops into your head (for example: what if I'm not actually pregnant anymore and my body hasn't realised it yet') you tell yourself, firmly, 'I am pregnant for now, and I'll know for sure in x days' and then move on and think about something - anything - else. Eventually the negative thoughts WILL fade, and you'll have made some progress in controlling the mad thoughts which will help with an mc, a continued pregnancy and the child-rearing that follows. Clearly I am still working on this myself and am no expert, let me know if you have any other tips!!

Londonjam · 03/01/2017 22:25

I 💙 you guys

Fuck it days are a GREAT IDEA

Being heavily pregnant in July August too kathrino hadn't thought of that

What the ubiquinol for , out of interest pyjamas?

WingingIt83 · 03/01/2017 22:10

Love the idea of fuck it days!

WingingIt83 · 03/01/2017 22:08

jam yes 2 years before they persued other investigations! I've checked NICE and that says 1 year so she was clearly rather out of date. I'll insist and switch on last week's waterworks if that doesn't work!

sk1pper · 03/01/2017 22:06

Thanks Pyjamas! This is why I can't live without MN at the moment, comforting to see others having the same tests and procedures.

Pyjamas81 · 03/01/2017 21:47

Ha ha - obviously want a bfp more but am really looking forward to our Fuck It Days! I got the idea from someone else on one of these boards who I think has now got her bfp along with a lot of great memories from the activities she planned with her DH.

Sk1pper - I was just going through my post a saw that the clinic has sent me some info on HSGs as well! Along with my antibiotics prescription Smile Have attached a pic of the info for you Smile

Supper - I get my folic acid from the pre-conception multivitamin I take (pregnacare). You can get it in Boots, Superdrug, Holland and Barrett etc. I also take ubiquinol (a form of CoQ10) as recommended by consultant.

Supper16 · 03/01/2017 21:43

Missy and Kathrino thank you - funny how you never notice these things till you actually need them, could have sworn I'd never seen folic acid in the supermarkets before.....Smile I plan to go and get some tomorrow
