I'm imaging this one as more of an Eeyore stick hut type thing. Maybe Eeyore is actually still in residence.

sorry sunshine!! was only joking honest - just love the way all these websites are always so perky when we feel like poo about our stupid cycles!!!

it is a good link - and I was being nosey! I think the graph is useful I had day 21 test last month and result was OK but then I usually OV CD13 of 26 day cycle. It ssems you have to second guess the GPs now - so to get best result try and book in for test 7 days after ov regardless of CD? I only got the test done last month by knowingly booking the docs appointment for CD21 and then suggesting he do the test while I was in there.

Anyway my menstrual cycle is pants - it is all fine and dandy but still won't get me a baby after 18 months grrrrrrrrr

Sunshinedays · 20/03/2007 13:53

Forgot to say for Duchese. That's terrible.

I've a question for you lot - I seem to get mild cramps (there but not bad enought to take pain killers) for the 7 days pre af... this is probably made worse by my obsessive, desperate symptom spotting... but do any of you get this? I might soon add hypocondria to paranoia and depression.

Sunshinedays · 20/03/2007 13:49

... anyway the link was for Impatience... stop being sooo nosey.

sideways · 20/03/2007 13:47

Duchesse - so sorry about your kids . I hope they are ok.

Seaside - can you send that chirpy nurse a quick cyberslap.

Sunshinedays · 20/03/2007 13:47

Bleugh. Didn't even read the blurb... did the graph make sense?

seaside72 · 20/03/2007 13:45

Sunshinedays - good link - coolnurse.com !!
she is a bit too perky and positive for me today though!!
I quote "The menstrual cycle doesn't have to be a drag, it actually shows how complex your body is and a sign that it is functioning properly! Congratulations, you are a woman and being a woman is terrific!"

NOT!! (wheres that dead magpie )

Sunshinedays · 20/03/2007 13:33

So for 28 day cycle robots the highest level of progesterone is on day 21... for me it is about day 17

Sunshinedays · 20/03/2007 13:31

scroll down to graph

See what I mean?

Sunshinedays · 20/03/2007 13:28

Yeah - progesterone peaks a few days after ov then drops again (i think - I'm so down today I'm doubting my own existence)

I'll try and find a fancy graph and attempt a link... but don't hold your breath

BTW if you are not oving you might respond well to clomid... and GPs can prescribe it

How long is your cycle?

Impatience · 20/03/2007 12:31

Sunshine: I think I get you now. Do you mean that the month you did the test a bit later than halfway through your luteal phase you got a lower reading? But then when you were in the middle you got a good one? Suggesting that progesterone drops...? If so, mine was definately in the second half of my luteal phase, so perhaps I can stop worrying myself.

Dp just said (well-meaningly) about her trying that it would be a good fertility test. Ie, if she conceives again really quickly then the problem DEFINATELY lies with me and not our donor. I know she meant well but I wanted to slap her! Can't complain really, she gave me a son without my nether regions being torn. AND she's making me lunch right now

Impatience · 20/03/2007 12:26

No, which is probably a good thing because I'm sure I wouldn't feel kindly. I saw one the other day and I felt cross for all those kids who wouldn't get any proper parent time. I think the parents were talking about having their 13th. Surely this is bordering on neglect? It's all very unfair.

feedmenow · 20/03/2007 12:20

Anyone watch that programme last night on the families with a million children?.......alright, maybe a slight exageration there.....

seaside72 · 20/03/2007 12:13

Its well known for raining (killed) magpies in the west country

PMSL Imaptience

seaside72 · 20/03/2007 12:11

duchesse - bloody hell -what a nightmare - I am so sorry. Did they know the kids that did it??

Impatience · 20/03/2007 12:10

Sunshine, thanks for your info, though that doesn't help me at all!! I still don't know which way the numbers would go. As for the FSH, I can't remember whether that came from the Day 1 or Day 21 test, but it was from last year. This year all that came back was the progesterone. How crap! Anyway, I assume I'll get fully MOTed by the fertility unit. When dp will probably be pregnant anyway, so the pressure will be off, that will make me get pregnant just by thinking about a man. Isn't that what people say?

I would definately like to create some hash haze. In RL I am experimenting with a grass/vodka concoction, because my poor o ld lungs can't take a good drag now... Roll on the camping months... I live a very healthy life then every now and then revert to my wicked old ways. They were SOOOO much fun. (Ahhh, rose-tinted reminiscent emoticon)

Impatience · 20/03/2007 12:06

Duchesse, no way! Your poor kids. That's really shit. REALLY really shit.

I thought the worst that'd happen in Devon was you'd step in cow shit, or have a dead (killed) magpie drop on your head.

feedmenow · 20/03/2007 11:48

Good grief, the gloom is like a thick, dense fog in here this morning....or is it a joint puffing haze??
Am not amused by my facial egg-burns this morning........

duchesse · 20/03/2007 11:37

I have to go out now to my low wage sporadic employment, because as a qualified teacher and translator, that's all I can find in Devon at the moment. Am fecking pissed off, to put it mildly.

duchesse · 20/03/2007 11:36

My 11 and 13 year olds were attacked by a bunch of yobs on their way home from school. The yobs wanted money. My (barely 5 ft) 13 yr old son was punched three times. I thought Devon was meant to be relatively safe. I am almost as pissed off with Britain as it's possible to be at the moment.

Sunshinedays · 20/03/2007 11:15

My typing also stinks

Sunshinedays · 20/03/2007 11:14

[carries on wittereing no idea ... and not really bovvered... whether anyone else is listening or even still in the hut]

Impatience (hi!) - the day 21 test assumes we all have a perfect 28 day cycle - an idea obviously created by a man - i did my first day 21 test on day 21 (well it was a good guess) - since my cycle is 23-26 days it was completely useless. My last test was in the middle of my luteal phase - knew this through temp charting - and results we much better. Hope this helps. Btw When was you FSH bld test? I think this is supposed to be taken early in the cycle.

Sunshinedays · 20/03/2007 11:08

I've moved on from gloomy to miserable as sin.
Last night I dreamt I was breastfeeding my (imaginary though naturally perfect) baby. This is a sign. A sign I have moved from TTC to OTTC (obsessively trying....)

This stinks.

Sunshinedays · 20/03/2007 11:06

Seaside - try crossing your eyes or drinking a skin full - either will more sorrow to joy

Impatience · 20/03/2007 11:04

That's a rumour started by magpies It's only bad luck to kill a magpie if it drops, dead, onto your head and does you an injury.

Impatience · 20/03/2007 11:00

It's alright Duchesse, I've worried myself again now by making that fatal error of googling my results. Apparantly 21 day progesterone above 30nmol/L indicates ovulation occured. Mine was 19.5. Although day 21 fell on a Saturday, so it was actually day 23, and I ovulated on day 13or 14, so perhaps it drops after ovulation....? Also saw that FSH above 10 indicates poor ovarian function: mine was 12.7. But not sure we're talking in the same units here.

AAAAArrrrrghh!!! Why do I do this to myself! It's not like I haven't got a million things to be doing and I'm sitting here googling stuff I don't understand then getting all upset about it. BOLLOCKS

Yes, my GPs have been very kind and understanding. Although apparantly not always the most knowing... At least I should get some knowledge at the hospital. Sorry yours have been so crap.
