I'm imaging this one as more of an Eeyore stick hut type thing. Maybe Eeyore is actually still in residence.

what do you do plummymummy?

plummymummy · 07/03/2007 00:26

Yeah well I'm fucked off that I am overworked and underpaid and that my fucking job is probably getting in the way of me fucking conceiving. That's about fucking it. No I haven't got Tourettes - I'm just fucked off. Evening all.

duchesse · 06/03/2007 23:23

Hi cityangel, you're in the right place then. Unfortunately I'm so fed up that I'm going to bed right now. I'm not sure who's still about at this hour. We party hard, y'see. Here, have this leftover cocktail and a plate of only slightly soggy paté on little toasts.

Hoping tomorrow evening I can share a doom margharita?

cityangel · 06/03/2007 23:20

hut of doom I'm here and properly fed up

cityangel · 06/03/2007 23:16

Hi hut of doom, really hoping to join but am possibly resigning myself to some sideline grumpiness instead.

duchesse · 06/03/2007 23:13

And I must to bed. Have spent the day burning stuff, and am tired...

exactly, so in that respect the idea of spoon feeding was really very alien to me. anyway, enough, i am sullying the pristine hut of doom with my weaning chat.

duchesse · 06/03/2007 23:09

...or starve! Definitely.

Oldest of five here. My brother brought himself up, poor lad...

my mum says 'oh for goodness sakes everyone with more than two kids just lets the babies get on with it eventually...' as the eldest of four i never saw my mum spoon feed the youngest, she just had to pile in by herself.

Yeah. Wanna make something of it?

Really teed off the rest of our NCT antenatal class, my father, and pretty much everyone we met apart from our other HV, who was married to a Ghanian and encouraged me to be as wacky as possible. Unfortunately she was away visiting the in-laws while middle child was 5-7 months old...

hippy

duchesse · 06/03/2007 22:47

Aitch- am fascinated to see from your website that our wacky approach to weaning our kids is gaining in popularity. My children are now 13, 11 and 9, and the only one not weaned sensibly (ie when she was ready) was my middle one, as I had HV going on at me about weight gain from 5 months onwards. Luckily she had the sense to mostly spit everything out again. We just figured it was better to wait until they took things from our plates at dinnertime- that signalled their readiness, to us at least. Our last child was fully breastfed until 8.5 months, middle one 5.5 months (but didn't really start eating until 7.5 months), older one 5 months.

Romantic indeed.

Am horrified by some of these women. Supposed to be professionals - how can they possibly imagine that it's acceptable to speak to patients like that?

duchesse · 06/03/2007 22:40

She realised she'd done wrong, I'd say, Aitch.

Mine had the nerve to apologise straight after after a fashion ("that was probably insensitive of me" erm, yes ) so she obviously was not a complete rhinoceros and ought to have known better. Luckily for her, I feel rather good on general anaesthetic, and was too mellow to be really pissed off about it (at the time).

after my 3rd mc had to take dh &ds to the hosp with bad d&v the nurse asked about my health id been ill too but had mcd that week, i said this, she asked how pg id been and when i replied 6w she said "so it was just a period then"

i replied no, my babys heart started beating then stopped, so my body flushed it out. got an apology but still so

AitchTwoOh · 06/03/2007 22:35

i complained about mine, she was disciplined. what shocked me was that after she said, 'oh, you should be glad (to have lost the baby), they keep you up all night and are a pain in the neck.' and i said, 'i'm not glad, i'm heartbroken.' no response. so i repeated 'i'm not glad, my heart is broken'. and she ignored me.
i was more pissed off about that, tbh. she just hoped that cos i was coming out of the anaesthetic i wouldn't remember but i even got her name. her boss was 100% horrified and furious, and i know she was dealt with seriously.
at yours, duchesse.

lissielou · 06/03/2007 22:35

isnt it romantic! dh wont come near me til after my period. meanie.

sideways · 06/03/2007 22:34
