I'm imaging this one as more of an Eeyore stick hut type thing. Maybe Eeyore is actually still in residence.

Hmmm...dunno. If your uterus feels as though it has a foreign body in it (eg clot) it will usually try to expel it. The pains I had throughout that pregnancy were not like menstrual pains- they were more painful and more wearying than period pain, and woke me in the night a lot.

i am in pain. my cycle pre-ep was 28d even down to the time of day. the spotting started 30d after the op, and the bleeding started properly on day 32... do you think its my body messing around? im v hormonal too but the blood is simillar to the bleeding i had with the ep

duchesse · 12/03/2007 21:45

Just realised I know exactly what sort of bleeding you mean, as its exactly the sort I had for 7 weeks of my doomed pregnancy. In my case, it was due to haemorrhages from the placenta, and the blood seeping out gradually. It could well be post-op bloods working their way out, no? I know that's not what you want to hear when all you want it to be back on track, but menstrual bleeding comes out with an anti-clot substance. Normal bleeding doesn't, so it clots in the uterus and comes out gradually. Maybe a call to the early pregnancy unit or gp might be in order tomorrow morning?

Much pain? Are you sure it's a real period, and not your body ridding itself of accumulated gunk and stuff post operation?

OP posts:
lissielou · 12/03/2007 21:20

yes, 1st day of real bleeding, but even thats odd. (tmi alert) really dark, thick and dry.

This is first period since the ghastly experience of last month, I think? Your undercarriage has undergone severe trauma, and may well misbehave a little. If you start to get pain as well (a lot more than usual) I would suggest you go back to the quack in case you have any scarring barring the way (like d4phne had). It may be that this period just wont be that heavy. As to which day to pick as CD1, erm..sorry, no idea. Today, first day of proper bleeding?

lissielou · 12/03/2007 21:03

lol, am watching tv too. quick q... started spotting on sat but period started properly today. what is cd1? this is v odd for me

mum03 · 12/03/2007 20:59

Hey - lissielou - looks great, the best bit about the getting back to cd1 is the getting back to drinking, if I am not careful I could end up staying here all night with this lot.... ummmmm OK duchesse is right, I will go to bed instead, thanks for the thought though.

Thank you and good night, hope the contract translation goes quickly for you duchesse.

night all...

duchesse · 12/03/2007 20:56

Sorry lissie- that banishing to bed was for Mum03. You can stay up as long as you're not tired for school in the morning. Let's open a few of those bottles. I'm supposed to be working (translating a contract- yawn!) , so I may pop in and out.

duchesse · 12/03/2007 20:54

be..e..e..ed Just step away from the keyboard and sink into that duvet. Go on- you know you want to... Good night. And don't get up before you have to.

And don't worry about what happens on here. It doesn't really matter.

heres my contribution to the cause

duchesse - the wee turning yellow comment has just made me giggle, thank you, I really appriciate your help.
You are right, I do need the iron, I am taking a pre-natal multi-vitamin, but I think I am still probrably aneamic (happens regularly to me). And I probrably need to go to bed early tonight and get plenty of sleep. I think the anti-biotic I am taking is knocking me out too. Last one tomorrow so, hopefully I will be out of this pit of despair before the week is out just like you say.
Also wanted to thank you for the comment about speech therapy helping - I will be chasing it all up tomorrow again I think, I can't just leave it as it is, the poor lad is suffering enough.
Thank you again for being a good friend.

duchesse · 12/03/2007 20:43

That last but one message should read within a week.

I remember you saying you were more of a beer drinker when you first came into the hut- guiness seems like a good option for a bleeding woman (all that iron)

OP posts:
mum03 · 12/03/2007 20:41

It feels a bit odd coming to the hut for some tlc, but - good all the same, helps me feel a little better

duchesse · 12/03/2007 20:41

Time. and a few B vitamins and omega 3s. Start with the guiness. Get fish or flax oil capsules tomorrow, along with a good B supplement. I promise you will start to feel less overwhelmed with a week.

OP posts:
mum03 · 12/03/2007 20:40

Thank you duchesse - how did you know that I am a guiness drinker???

mum03 · 12/03/2007 20:39

I know that in the big scheme of things I am very lucky and that I should be happy, but right now it does not feel that way. How do I get out of this horrible place I am in?

duchesse · 12/03/2007 20:39

pushes Mum03 into a squishy beanbag and forces a large guiness into her hand

Can this be the hut of dispair too?? I am here crying my eyes out just because someone that i don't even know, has called me cruel. My stupid period came 3 days early and I have hormones running wild - more than usual and I have just had enough of everything. I hate the way I feel right now.

seaside72 · 12/03/2007 18:50

IKWYM duchesse - I worked really hard for 8 years after graduation - and yes I made some good money and paid loads of tax- but it is no good now - I am no better off except for some good experience.

If I knew then what I do now - I probably would have done a lot of things differently - It makes my blood boil all that stuff about making mums work as well - I have always thought there should be a statutory wage for being a housewife/SAHM.

I have spent the past 3 years setting up my life to allow me to earn just enough money while still staying mostly at home and trying to start a family ( through freelance work and property) and I wish I had tried to do it 6 years ago not three Oh well the power of hindsight I guess

duchesse · 12/03/2007 18:29

seaside72- as a member of the have it all brain-washed generation myself, but who opted out of a career at 25, to almost universal ridicule and scorn, I can tell that although I don't regret it for a moment, I am likely to end my life in penury. Since I have not had a job that lasted longer than 2 years since graduating, I also do not have a pension plan other than my husband's civil service one. I am glad I had my children young, but if they don't look after me in my old age, I'm stuffed and shall have to opt for euthanasia instead.

The present government, and the previous one, wants something that is not possible: a healthy birth rate, but with every woman in paid work. The long and short of it is that the women with children who work plough most or all of their earnings into childcare (eg- my sister), to pay the wages of other (mostly) women. Those that don't die of starvation at 80 (me), or 85 if they don't eat that much. Humph

I know - all those years of wasted money and stress on contraception - have been with my DH since I was 21 - needn't have bothered with anything it seems!

I remember thinking that to get pg in my 20's would be the end of the world mostly cos of my job- it was like I was brainwashed? Now I can't beleive I have possibly squandered the best thing I could do in life (to be a mum) for a sodding job WTF!!!

(Have just scoffed a bar of green and blacks in RL but if there is anymore going spare I'll have some !!)

beansprout · 12/03/2007 17:59

I know what you mean lissie! I spent years absolutely terrified of falling pregnant. I would only use the combined pill as I couldn't see the point of a contraceptive that offered anything less than 99-100% protection! And now look at me! I think the depp injection has something to do with my current situation too but that's for another thread!!

Mice still in evidence at our house. Escaped to my mum's for a night but am back now. Hardly conducive to ttc with me on high rodent alert. Bah. Pass the chocolate.
