Anyone on CD1 as well and bummed about AF arriving? Where are you on your cycle?

Thanks for the replies re OPKs. I ended up buying some clear blue digitalis despite the hefty price tag and have had negatives yesterday and today, CD13 and 14. Just cracking on with DTD every other day, trying not to worry but easier said than done as I'm such a worrier! I just really want it to happen this week before he goes away again.

stepmum88 · 30/12/2016 10:42

So, I have the Ovia app.... it's good as far as I can tell, however if there's a 2week window, is it either side of your magical 5 fertile days, or...?? Xx

Hippychic79 · 30/12/2016 07:18

Hi Anna - cd11 today and just poas of my opk and got a blank circle - not ovulating yet! I detached the strip and could see a faint line so should be within the next few days. Oh wanted to dtd last night and I put him off saying I felt too tired and slightly unwell so he wants to do it tonight ... I'm gonna put him off again and suggest he does some diy just to keep the sperm fresh :))) I'm not dtd until I see that smiley face :))) I'll be bankrupt if I have to buy too many more of these digital opks ... :))))
Good luck ladies ... another few days and we'll be in the dreaded 2ww xxxxxxxx

Hippychic79 · 30/12/2016 07:14

Hmy - yes I've read too much water affects opks ... best to use first urine of the day and test around the same time for best results. If you don't see a positive within the cycle, then test twice a day the following cycle but leave it 3-4 hours after your last wee and lay off the water... easier said than done that :))

Anna2006 · 29/12/2016 20:59

Started my OPK's today. Haven't got much sign of fertile cm yet though so think will be few days before it shows any sign of positive

Anna2006 · 28/12/2016 19:52

Not 100% sure if it can. It can affect a pregnancy test so maybe? What day do you normally get a positive?

Can drinking a lot of water affect OPKs btw? I had about 1.5l this morning (hangover).

hmyh23 · 28/12/2016 13:04

I'm on CD12 now, DTD CD8, CD10 and today. Negative OPK today. Plan to DTD CD14, CD16, CD17, CD18 and then a couple of times the following week. Sounds so clinical but husband goes away for work for 5 days after CD18 😡

Hippychic79 · 28/12/2016 12:49

cheers Hun - my oh can't do that much dtd so I've asked him to sort himself out every other day to keep it fresh :)))) went down easier than asking him to do any house work lol xxxxxxxx

Anna2006 · 28/12/2016 12:40

Yep just dtd as much as possible. Every other day I think is good in your fw as means the sperm is being replenished an means it's at its best! I think if it's been a while since the man has ejaculated that semen won't be of top notch quality! So try dtd a few days before your 2 main tries.

We did that and it worked first time for us! Last month we tried everyday, I'm not sure why we changed it but clearly that didn't work for us. So back to every other day this month!

Hippychic79 · 28/12/2016 11:54

Thanks Anna :)) appreciate your feedback. I think your right .... just want to get to the fw now and dtd as much as possible. Least oh is rested so hopefully will manage to get a couple of times in this cycle ... just got to hold back until I get that smiley face .... fx it will be our month xxxxxxx
I'm praying for all the ladies on here ... never hated af as much as I have these last few months xxxxx

Anna2006 · 28/12/2016 10:28

Hippychick of you ovulated last month on CD15 I think CD11 is plenty early enough. Do you know when you ovulated any other cycles?
It can range. Mine used to be roughly CD15 or 16 but occasionally was 14 or 17. But never anything other than that. However first cycle after mc I had CD13! But they do say pregnancy can reset your cycle which I think maybe it has for me. So I'm CD9 and think maybe I should start tomorrow? I got my positive CD12 last month. Use your CM signs too. If you haven't got hardly any CM then very likely your not near it, so try save the sticks 😊

Hi Phase - if your dh is up for it I'd get and dtd as much as poss :))) I love dtd fw or not but my oh works a lot, and consequently he gets really tired so we don't dtd half as much as I would like! I'm cd 8 today and last cycle I got positive opk on cd 15 (we dtd on cd 13 ) and clearly that was too early. I did think that you ov around the same time each month but having done some research via our friend google have since learnt this is not the case... I suppose the opk companies would go bust if this was the case lol 😂 anyway - I thought my cycles were 29 days but last month was 28 and I had a perfect period (no pain, cranberry colour blood and more blood than normal which is good because I was having light periods which doesn't seem right) anyway I'm thinking I'll ov on cd 14 so I'm going to start poas on cd 11 I think .... fingers crossed I can time the tackle right this month... I'm getting impatient because my oh is so casual and wants to wait til may until we properly start trying as he wants to go on a mega nice holiday and clearly I want to be pregnant more than anything else in the world .... I'm gonna be 38 in a few weeks and I'm tTC #1 .... I'm sure you can understand my frustration:)))). I've got lots of opks so maybe I'll test a bit earlier but that said I don't want to waste them. Any thoughts ladies on whether I should test earlier than cd 11? Xxxxx

Itsjustaphase84 · 27/12/2016 19:21

Haha Hippy I hear you
Not long until ov!! Yaye. Just timing of.dtd gets all awkward as we know. I'm testing early as I think I ov early. I'm still waiting for my Amazon cheapies to arrive!!! Oh well I'll just have to Dtd anyway Smile

Hippychic79 · 27/12/2016 16:21

Good luck Anna xxxx

Anna2006 · 27/12/2016 13:31

I just use the cheap ones but theyve always worked well for me. I know once I've ovulated as I always feel it.

It was bit earlier last month so I will have to begin early this month so I don't miss it!

Anna2006 · 23/12/2016 11:52

I know the feeling. Out of my 5 best friends, ones just had a baby and 3 are pregnant! But like hippychic said our time will come. Everything happens for a reason. An we truly have to believe that.

OP posts:
Hippychic79 · 23/12/2016 11:10

awwww Stepmum try not to let it worry you, it's not a race, your time will come I'm sure. It's just more noticeable when you're actively TTC. xxxxxx

stepmum88 · 23/12/2016 11:03

Thankyou very much ladies Smileone other question - is it just me, or is everyone around now announcing pregnancies and babies etc, which is making TTC slightly more challenging?? Hmm
