Hi all, we are planning on TTC in the new year. Before that I want to get a bit healthier lose three stone and generally be in the best shape possible to get pregnant and run around after a baby. Is anyone else in the same boat? Would you be up for a little thread to keep us all on track? Planning on doing a dry January as a kick start and then will be dragging my arse to the gym after Christmas as well. Very open to suggestion and ideas to shift the bulge. Would be good to have a few buddies though. Anyone fancy joining in?

Our names are in pics below. Asterix for middle names, hashtag for first names. I was quite impressed that DH agreed to some of these. We need to whittle them down a bit yet but no rush!

Now tell me yours!

Will have to spellcheck these late night posts sorry ladies lol

Heyitsholly · 14/01/2017 23:25

Im on the vit d and folic acid too.

I really want to know these names or are they all secret?

Last time we kept an iPhone list and kept adding and deleting till nearer the time.
Cant remember for the lufe of me what the boys name wasHmm and i was convinced i was having a boy.

Wont find out again till the borth. Best surprise ever. Plus my delivery midwifery was saying how commonly its wrong and how heart breaking it is for people.
Any child is a blessing ❤

Oh I believe it, I feel like a vampire with the lack of sunlight, I'll get it first thing, thanks mummy xx

Mummyme87 · 14/01/2017 23:10

Everyone should take vitamin d, I think it's over 2/3 of the population are deficient. In pregnancy obviously this is alot worse. Boots do a folic acid and vit d supplement.. and it's 3 for 2 there

MrsC2017 · 14/01/2017 22:51

Go for it mummy!!! I have a girls name I like and DH actually agrees on and have a few boys names in the air too!
I'm not taking vit D, I bloody knew I should be but gp told me just to take folic acid! Will get some tomorrow!

Heyitsholly · 14/01/2017 22:02

Go get busy mummy! Exciting times

Oysterbabe · 14/01/2017 20:37

Great news Mummy!
We've already chosen our names. We had a boys name picked out last time we didn't get to use and have recently settled on a girl's name that works really well with DD's name. We won't find out the sex until the birth.

HeyJupiter · 14/01/2017 20:35

That's really interesting to know, thank you!

Mummyme87 · 14/01/2017 20:08

wouldnt bother with pregnacare... folic acid and vitamin d until 12weeks, and vitamin d alone there on after. Also continue with that whilst breastfeeding. Pregnacare is full of other vitamins that you get from food and can't absorb. Money making!!!

Happy days mummy!

So fun looking up baby names! We have a favourite boy and girl name picked out too. I've only been taking folic and vitamin D so have bypassed the massive tablets so far but might switch to combined one when pregnancy definitely happens.

HeyJupiter · 14/01/2017 19:35

Amazing mummy, it's a good feeling!

buzzmoon · 14/01/2017 19:24

Yay Mummy! 🍆🍆🍆🍆🍆

TheresAlwaysTimeForTea · 14/01/2017 19:21

A few friends of mine were chatting about adoption once they have their own children. I'd be open to it I guess. I've not given it much thought really. It's a wonderful thing to be able to do.

Just took my first conception vitamin. Why do they have to make them massive like bloody horse tablets!! I'm terrible at taking tablets if they're not coated in that sweet coating. These were the weirdest softest tablets ever. Has anyone felt sick on them? I've taken mine before bed to try and avoid that.

DH and I looked through our baby names book earlier. We have a list of 20 odd names for each sex that we like now. Exciting. We've agreed we will find out the sec but just keep it to ourselves until the baby is born. Think we will try from end of march 😍 although I'd rather have a summer baby as would get more pay from work as more public hols then. But we don't want to delay purely for those reasons.

Got my positive OPK 😀😉😀😉😀

Seven0fNine · 14/01/2017 19:07

Hey Busy dh and I have spoken alot about fostering/adoption too.

We would love to foster or possibly adopt but I decided I would really love to be pregnant and give birth to my own child or two first. It's Deffo on the cards for our future though. We'd love to be able to give kids a loving, stable home!

DancingUnicorn · 14/01/2017 14:01

You've all made me feel so much better and less like a crazy obsession driven idiot! :)

MrsC2017 · 14/01/2017 13:57

mummy eek almost baby making time for you!
busy sorry I don't know alot about adoption but I guess it's no harm to explore it and get a feel for things anyway.
unicorn I found out in November that my friend was expecting and it was like a punch in the gut, especially coz I knew since July we were going to start trying in January so I was so impatient, I'm thrilled for her now of course I think it's just the initial feeling of 'oh I want that to be me so bad'! I also have fertility worries even though I have DS I still worry, I think everyone does a little! I joined a train for January on another site and it stressed me out too much because alot of the women there had a long journey ttc and here was me on month 1 and I just felt a bit out of place, also didn't want to land back a month later after first month trying and being like oh look got a BFP, didn't want to upset anyone! Now nobody is saying I will get a BFP after 1months but you don't know how long it will take till I try I guess! Actually so glad I found u girls!

Wiggleyfingers · 14/01/2017 13:22

So glad you're feeling better mummy, time to get DTD! That OPK looks very close to being positive!

DancingUnicorn · 14/01/2017 13:15

I cried too wiggly! But yes, you're completely right, has no bearing on me. Hopefully our kids will be close and can be friends.

Glad you're feeling better Mummy!

DancingUnicorn · 14/01/2017 13:14

Thanks Jupiter and oyster. Yeah, I'm obviously thrilled for her. But it just seems like such an unknown for me atm. No idea how long it will take or how I'm going to feel etc etc. I think I need to figure out how to be less obsessed about it. :s

Mummyme87 · 14/01/2017 13:12

Tonsils feeling a million times better today thank god. Antibiotics are working a treat

Wiggleyfingers · 14/01/2017 13:09

Unicorn I had the exact same situation a few months ago. I cried! I felt selfish and guilty, especially as we have to wait to ttc so not even possible for it to be my turn yet. I'm feeling very different now and have been able to get very excited for her. I think it's just the initial blow that can knock you. But remember that her conceiving in no way impacts you conceiving! It will be your turn soon and I'm sure there will be someone looking at you and wishing it was them!
