Kskifred I need to get a FRER. I have a CB digital but not done that yet. I'll pick up a FRER asap. I have no idea when AF would be due.... I guess if we said that my bleed last weekend wasn't AF then I would be on Cd24 today based on last AF? But my last cycle was 34 days....So would I be too early to show a clear positive test? Fingers crossed it's not a chemical but I'm glad you've shared your experience as I know it's a possibility. I didn't show a positive or any sign of faint positive when I had the bleed last week, and the bleeding stopped on Saturday mainly with a small amount of brown blood for the next two days but only when wiping (Tmi sorry). I keep getting twinges too, and light cramps.

I'll keep you all posted and thanks for your support, it's so hard when we aren't telling anyone we are TTC!

MissMagpie · 16/12/2016 11:41

Yes Kskifred that's similar to what I thought - I was expecting some high fertility days and before peak fertility and didn't get any so I was almost taken unawares!
This is my first month doing OPKs and using Ovia so it's interesting to see how my body really works, as I was just observing EWCM before.
If it doesn't work out this month, at least I will be better prepared next month.

Hippychic79 · 16/12/2016 10:51

Welcome OkyDoke -
Not long now .... keeping fx for you and all ladies still on the December bus xxxx

OkyDoke · 16/12/2016 10:14

Tentatively joining...

Age: 27
TTC: #1
Cycle: 1
CD26
DPO: 10 (I think... not charting)
AF due 20/12/16

Congrats to all the BFP's on here so far!

Kskifred · 16/12/2016 09:44

Missmagpie I think you have a fertile 5 days or so as sperm can live for about that long? Rather than you being really fertile as such, although your 'environment' is more friendly in that time. So in the lead up to ovulation you have a few days then 24 hours from ov i thought? I would keep track and if you are only getting an ov reading for a day or so then i would roughly calculate 5 days prior as being your window to dtd? If i'm talking rubbish here someone correct me but that way you are covering yourself before ov was my understanding x

Kskifred · 16/12/2016 09:37

Hopefully it was a false neg bluebell, but it sounds so similar to my last cycle. I must have had a chemical pregnancy i think. I'm not testing before af is late next time as i got so excited it is horrible when it doesn't work out. And staying away from the clear blues too, i would rather see a false bfn than a false bfp. Have you tried a FRER? And when are you due af?

MissMagpie · 16/12/2016 09:24

Fingers crosses Jelly - you aren't out until AF actually arrives.
I really feel for you bluebell. Our bodies are so strange, aren't they? Sending love and hope.

I am officially in the 2WW now. Having gone from not fertile to peak fertility in like, a day, I dtd on the day before my peak reading, straight after the peak reading and the next day too. My EWCM has gone now so am thinking I didn't have a fertile week - just a few days - and hoping I have covered this adequately.

I have a Christmas party tonight and am going to have a couple of drinks but take it steady. Obviously there is nothing implanted yet to do any harm to and I don't want to arouse suspicion. Plus I really want a glass of wine! Wine

Jellybabie3 · 16/12/2016 09:11

Really dont know what to think. Im flitting between hoping im gonna get a late BFP to feeling like AF is going to arrive any minute. I guess the chances of getting the BFP are pretty slim now though?

bluebell17 · 16/12/2016 08:40

Fingers crossed for you jellybabie.
I did another Morrisons test again this morning and it was negative. Who knows what's going on....

BertieBotts · 16/12/2016 08:37

Yes ear should be fine. Mine is an oral one and only goes to one decimal place. Two decimal places is better apparently but I find it works okay. Useful features involve it being easy to use when you're half asleep and a light so you can see the screen in the dark (I just use my phone screen to illuminate it).

IntelligentPutty · 16/12/2016 08:11

Aww. Jelly baby. Hate those last few days. Fingers crossed for you. X

Jellybabie3 · 16/12/2016 07:01

Morning all. Cd30 now for me and still no AF despite some pretty convincing cramping. Poas this morn n another BFN. Just wish she would arrive now tbh Sad

Ohb0llocks · 15/12/2016 21:39

OPK a lot lighter now, I'm assuming this means surge is done?

Kirsty8333 · 15/12/2016 21:24

Thanks bertiebotts. Yeah I've got a thermometer that you use in your ear if that's ok to use?

minime2016 · 15/12/2016 20:18

What a busy and very exciting bus this is Grina quick question to our bfp ladies...did you have any ridiculously early symptoms or indicators which made you think mmmm...could this be the month? (Guess who is symptom spotting-AGAIN!)

ThirdThoughts · 15/12/2016 17:12

BertieBotts I wear a fitbit and had noticed my resting heart rate rise, but I had thought it was just because I had been less active (my RHR dropped significantly over this year when I started doing more exercise and lost weight). It's good to know that I shouldn't be worried about the increase (though staying active is obviously a good idea).

bluebell17 · 15/12/2016 16:12

Kskifred thank you for sharing, it's useful to know that this isn't unusual. The thing I'm confused about is that when the brown blood started really light last Thursday night, on the Friday AM I took a cheapie test and it was a definite negative. Now I'm getting faint positives. I went back to the Morrisons one a couple of mins after I posted (I had posted straight away before) and it has a faint line too. Although it's even more of a squinter than the CB. I have bought a CB digital and going to TRY and hold out til Saturday to do it!!

BertieBotts · 15/12/2016 15:06

Not sure if it's an individual thing. For me it drops the first day.

BertieBotts · 15/12/2016 15:04

Btw - if anyone has a fitbit, they have found that a similar thing happens with resting heart rate. It rises by about 5bpm in the luteal phase and will rise again if you're pregnant. Again you need to track for a while to see patterns.

Tinkerbell2319 · 15/12/2016 14:57

BertieBotts how close to AF does the temp usually drop? Or does it vary depending on the individual? It's my first month tracking BBT so learning the ropes Smile

BertieBotts · 15/12/2016 14:54

Yep. Do you have a thermometer? It should be a digital one. If you have one already then use that, if not, you can buy a BBT thermometer on amazon very cheaply.

Then you need some way to record it. I recommend using an app (fertility friend is great for charting) but you can also use a notepad next to your bed.

Take your temperature when you wake up before you get out of bed, if you forget, just do it as soon as you remember. Apps like fertility friend will note the difference in time automatically.

You need to do it for a couple of months to see patterns really but most apps will be able to pinpoint when you ovulate. If you're doing it on paper, you're looking for at least 3 temperatures all higher than all the preceding five. The first temperature in that group of 5 denotes the 'cover line' (0.1c over the first temp). That just lets you see the shift more clearly.

Your temperature will drop again when you're about to start your period. If it stays high or climbs again, test.
