Please forgive me if this is a ramble but I've got so much stuff going round my head at the moment I just needed to spill it out somewhere.
DH and I have been ttc no.2 since January and to be honest I wasn't expecting it to happen soon, was expecting it to take a few cycles. Long story short, did a pregnancy test yesterday and got a faint positive line, but been having cramps for some time and spots of blood. AF is around 4 days late. I've had flu for a week and have taken all manner of cold medications that say you shouldn't take them if pregnant, plus Dd has chicken pox (isn't this harmful in early pregnancy?). Now I'm quite resigned to the fact that, if I was pregnant, then I'm probably likely to miscarry but what's bugging me is the fact my body won't make up it's mind! If AF is going to start I just wish it would I feel like I'm hanging in the balance. Don't want to do another test incase it confirms and says not preganant, even though I'd be surprised if I still was, does that make any sense?! Sorry - end of spouting

Sorry me again

I would call your dr back and say you need to see a dr either today or tomorrow because of the following ..."your sure your pregnant and are having cramps and bleeding & DD has chicken pox, Tuesday is to far away."

If they still say no then call back as soon as the drs open tomorrow morn and say the same.

All drs have emergancy appts for each day, norm at the end of am & the end of pm. Trust me.

Hope you are fine and it all works out

Hope that makes you feel better Milly though be prepared to be sent away for a few weeks but at least the GP can advise you on the impact of the medications (if any and doubt there will be) and the chicken pox.

Thanks for wishing me well. DH and I are desperate for this baby to be ok, it's our first and we tried for 8 months for her/him. At the end of the day though nature decides what's right and what's not and I truly believe in that. I do feel quite positive today, might just be my nature but I know that babies are quite hardy really

Maybe see you on the due in October thread soon?

Hello

When i found out i was pregnant my dr said i 'could' go to the hospital for a preg test (as you get the ans there and then) because of the treatment i had just finished. I was being treated for Endometriosis and the treatment could have really harmed the bubs.

He didnt send me - but when i was there i said my dr had told me to come to the A & E for a test because of the above & i have epilepsy. (they dont check)

Might be worth booking an appt with your dr and ask to go to the hospital.

Or just go to A & E and say the dr sent you because ....say all of what you've told us. make sure you say about the Chicken Pox also. Should work

Thank you ladies, I'm pretty naive about all things pregnancy related I'm afraid. With dd I took the approach of burying my head in the sand for nine months. I thought bleeding and cramps spelt the end, will do another test tomorrow and see. Have booked doctors appointment but they can't fit me in till Tuesday so suppose I'll just have to wait and see. MrsMcJnr I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, it's great they're giviing you an early scan.

Hi Milly, sounds like you are in shock a bit because it happened so soon for you. As Scorpio says, a line is a line and rarely wrong. As I?m sure you know, spotting and cramps don?t spell the end. I think you should see your GP to get peace of mind. Hope you feel much better about everything soon.

I?m 6+4 weeks and I had spotting the whole week before my AF was due. I also had some spotting yesterday and my MW says that it is common though I am being referred for an early scan next week and am hoping and praying all is ok. There have been a lot of people with spotting (and much more than that) and cramping recently and it?s been mixed as to those whose babies were ok and those who weren?t.

its fine to have a good rant

a line is a line.maybe you should do another just to know what is going on?there a few posts on here lately from others that have had spotting too, maybe have a chat with them?im sorry i dont have any experience of that.

maybe do a test and then ring your GP ref chicken pox and cramping?

hope you are OK
