Thread 21 TTC #1 - The one where all our cycles went haywire but we DID NOT GIVE UP

Calling all clomid-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX) We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

alexia 10dpo I think. Not sure I have the best chances this month, but it still looks that I am functioning normally again.

Annoying my my stress/anxiety levels are picking up again with the house (still getting it back together). Flew home yesterday afternoon from work trip to a fun evening of assembling IKEA furniture.

AlexiaB · 07/12/2016 15:25

Definitely not an implantation dip but it could be a pre ovulation dip Skip fx.

Fx Hep. How many dpo are you?

I'm only 4dpo and already fighting the urge to poas lol Blush Obviously pointless so going to hold out until 8/9dpo.

How's everyone doing? X

sk1pper · 07/12/2016 14:06

Fx Hep!!

HepKestrel · 07/12/2016 13:51

Ooh! Sore boobs! Start the AF countdown!!

MouseLove · 07/12/2016 13:49

Skip, I think CD11/12 could have been bingo day for you. The temp drop could be implantation? Quick I know but possible!!

I think, if I have a 28 day cycle (ok, stop laughing) I will be due AF Christmas Day. I'm CD10 today and I'm going to start OPK tomorrow, even though all my apps say I ovulated yesterday hahahahaha.

Oh well. Still no MRI scan date either. My life is full of irony.

AlexiaB · 07/12/2016 13:23

Skip very possible you could have had a +ve between cd11 and cd12 am. You would need to see a temp rise tomorrow to confirm it of course. You're well covered dtd-wise anyway. Not sure what your opks usually do but mine don't fade in and out or get dark for no reason so fx you've O'd.

Welcome back Kathrino Xmas Smile With you all on 2016 being bloody awful! 2017 can't be quite as bad, surely?

FXSkip · 07/12/2016 12:49

Oh hi Kathrino I'm still here too...

Kwick (and everyone else who has been so lovely!) thank you, I think up in't northern wilderness in Scotland I am eligible for 2 cycles, I just don't think I want it. I wish I could give them away though!!

So who's up for a game of 'Is Skip upduffed (or even ovulating) or is she going to have a soul crushing BFN on Christmas Day'?! Here's some clues....

CD 9 -ve OPK (faint line) DTD
CD 10 -ve OPK (Strong line, but not +ve) DTD
CD 11 no OPK, no DTD - strong cramps
CD 12 -ve OPK (faint line) DTD
CD 13 -ve OPK (v. faint line) - bit of EWCM very late at night, no time to DTD
CD 14 (today) big temp drop, creamy cm, no OPK (yet, lol, I am an addict after all)

Could it be if I'd OPKd on CD 11 I might have had a blazing positive, and then ov'd last night? OR do I keep DTD (I will anyway cause its fun) and POAS until Christmas?

Kathrino · 07/12/2016 12:30

Thanks kav and harriet.

kav, congratulations on your BFP! Keeping everything crossed for you, must be exciting to have scan dates booked in now!

harriet, I totally agree re 2016. I'll be so glad when we get to 1 Jan and can put this crappy year behind us. Bring on 2017...

sk1pper · 07/12/2016 12:24

Oooh Kav - did you use preseed this cycle? Do you think it could have helped your BFP? --not at all clutching at straws-/

kavanaughkj · 07/12/2016 12:12

Welcome back Kathrino, I remember you :) I had to take a break mid-way through the year too as everything was getting to me. Just hoping this bfp sticks!

Hee. I was the 'waterslider' skipper. Using the recommended amount of Preseed was utterly daft and made the whole exercise pointless, but it was handy in very sparing amounts. :)

Well I'm booked in for Harmony and viability tests on 14th Jan and my Nuchal scan on 28th Jan, so will pop back on to let you know how they went if that's ok.

Good luck EJ - it only takes one well-timed DTD to do it! Xmas Grin

harrietm87 · 07/12/2016 11:47

Hi kathrino welcome back! I remember you from the very start of this thread too. I had a big break and starting to try again either this month or next (still undecided!). 2016 has been a pretty awful year for the world I think - let's hope 2017 will bring us all some luck!

Kathrino · 07/12/2016 09:22

Hi kwick! I see you're as busy as ever with work and travelling. Lots and lots of luck for your next cycle, hopefully a chilled out few weeks over Christmas will help do the trick!

kwick · 07/12/2016 08:19

fxskip I missed your post about the gene... Flowers will they give you more than one IVF round?

harriet I feel there is no time like the present!!! Get those LS!!!

miranda I have no energy,.. note to self: must get a new job!

Welcome back kathrino!!! I am sorry to say I am still here...

Kathrino · 06/12/2016 23:06

Not yet sk1pper, we decided to wait until the new year. Something to look forward to after Christmas...

sk1pper · 06/12/2016 23:01

Hey Kath - have you been to your GP yet?

Kathrino · 06/12/2016 22:38

Thanks Hep, I remember you well. Sorry that you're still here. I think a break has definitely done us the world of good and has helped to give me some much needed perspective. Onwards and upwards!

HepKestrel · 06/12/2016 22:26

Hi Kathrino I remember you. Welcome back! Several us have taken breaks when we needed to.

Kathrino · 06/12/2016 22:17

Hello all, I used to be on these threads many (many) months ago but I fell off some time around the start of summer when it all became a bit overwhelming. Now that it's been almost a year since we started trying, I seem to have come to terms with this whole thing taking a bit more time than anticipated so tentatively dipping my toe back into this thread as was such a support when I was on it before. I'm sorry to recognise some familiar names but glad to see some recent BFP action - huge congrats!!

EJ2009 · 06/12/2016 22:12

Pmsl at the waterslide. I dont seem to get much ewcm so next cycle i was thinking i will get some preseed ( assuming i dont get my fairytale xmas bfp Wink )

Managed to get a dtd session in last night but dh out tonight so that may be our one and only try of the cycle Sad as my opk was positive yesterday.

sk1pper · 06/12/2016 20:10

Firstly, a massive congratulations Music! Very excited for you. This thread has come alive recently with all the BFPs and I'm pretty sure we're onto something good here so good luck for anyone else nearing the end of their cycle. Looks like we'll be needing that grad thread for sure!

Harriet - you are not broken! Stock up on the cheapies from amazon for future, you get quite a lot of them and they are good for confirming one way or another. Sorry to hear the witch got you, but well done extending your luteal phase. It's amazing what something as simple as vitamins can do for our bodies.

EJ - no one's ever asked me if I'm trying for a baby. I don't think I've ever heard that said to anyone, it's a very rude and personal thing to ask. I wouldn't even dignify them with a response if I was you - even if they are close work colleagues.

Pug - sorry about AF Flowers, are you feeling any better today?

Skip - I hope you're okay, news like that always hits home a bit but if I was you, I'd cross that bridge when I came to it. Hopefully your DH and children will never have to suffer like your MIL - really sorry to hear about her btw.

Miranda - yes they can work like that, some people don't get a darkening line though and miss it entirely. I would use an opk every day when you're just starting out, try and pinpoint when your ovulation day is and then next cycle cut back on the amount you use. Otherwise you'll spend a small fortune. You can always post pics of them if you are unsure but you are looking for the line to be darker than the control line.

Also, just tried Preseed for the first time - was quite pleasant actually. Grin Only used a tiny amount based on advice given a little while ago, and that was more than enough. I dread to think what it would have been like if I'd used the amount in the instructions. Didn't someone mention a "waterslide" before?

AlexiaB · 06/12/2016 18:03

Forgot to say thanks for sharing your chart Music. Looks like your O-2 BD has done the trick. Gives me hope for this cycle! Also agree re. stopping temping as it's not very reliable in pregnancy and will only cause you anxiety over every dip etc.

AlexiaB · 06/12/2016 17:54

Jam I think it's definitely worth a try next cycle (if this cycle's bust). Yeh it's not quite like here is it. If you need something answered just post in 'waiting to test' as it's most active. There are some lovely ladies on there though. Might take a little while to get comfy and find a nice buddy group.

Hep I'm cracking up! Grin

Yay for staying around Music! I'm going to stalk you on the grads thread until I can join anywayWink haha. CP worries are real but I hope I've used up the last CP ticket and you'll be absolutely fine! That's interesting about your opks isn't it. I think you were O'ing previously but this was most likely a superior egg and you caught it. Wahoo!

Londonjam · 06/12/2016 17:02

what a lovely job harriet your lives must be so music filled! Yes can also see why you need to get the timing right. I wonder if you will have a musical little babba :)

music don't go anywhere please! I mean - go and graduate - but please stick around too! We need all the cheering. I've got lots of plans on the rest of the week so yeah will be quite distracted. AF due Saturday and I've got brunch planned for two lovely friends.

Musicgrrl · 06/12/2016 16:43

Thank you so much for all your lovely messages! I know 12dpo is early so I won't be leaving here just yet. I don't feel any different at the moment!

Alexia you lovely person! Here is my chart. I will still temp until 14/15 dpo out of interest but will stop after that so that I don't go too crazy. It's scary to think about chemicals so I am trying not to although I'm well aware of the stats. Your comment on my line is reassuring so thank you :) Great that you have your cross hairs and your OPKs look fab too. Interestingly this cycle was the only one where I got an actual +ve OPK when I ovulated.

kav and mrs I will venture over to moose's new thread to get the population up!

harriet your DH has such a cool job. Can see now why you want to be careful with timings. I would be the same as alexia though and get started right away - I don't have much patience!

Sorry to hear your news fxskip. Free IVF sounds interesting but I'm sure you won't even need it. Nice to have as a back up though without the 3 year wait.

Jam understand your tww feelings Flowers Have you got anything to distract yourself with this week?
