Thread 21 TTC #1 - The one where all our cycles went haywire but we DID NOT GIVE UP

Calling all clomid-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX) We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

Thanks sk1pper I am overweight - Lord knows what I will look like when I do get my BFP!

Thanks hep Lucky you with a dishwasher! If I were you I would get a cleaner in Grin
So glad you are back on the bus!

Thanks star

harriet pineapple contains something which is supposed to aid with implantation - I eat a fifth, core and all, for 5 days post IUI/IVF. Bromeline I think it is.

mrs LSFX!!!!

Oggy88 · 19/11/2016 12:29

MrsG, these look lovely! Fx it's your month!

Only CD6, Sk1pper. But at least AF's gone, so I can finally get some action! She always overstays her welcome (as if she is!) so, in addition to all the waiting, I pretty much turn into a nun for almost a week Envy

Londonjam · 19/11/2016 12:28

Kwick those instant reActions your brain just does, I don't think you can help them. Sounds like you dealt with her professionally and did well to put your personal feelings to one side. Can't have been easy.

Hep hope law of sod intervenes and a lovely BFP interrupts your work project!

Skipper nipple changes are a really good sign! Lsfx

Mrsg that is early! Are you happy with DTD pattern?

I'm day 9 and no OPK s or DTD yet Confused will sort that out today Wink egg will be along Friday or Saturday I reckon. Nothing from my ovaries or cm so far.

MrsG280516 · 19/11/2016 12:08

Afternoon everyone Smile

Got a temp rise this morning and a negative OPK so looks like I ovulated last night on CD11. Quite early so I'm expecting quite a short cycle, so I guess I'm now in the 2ww again! Here are my OPKs for anyone who like to see progressions!

Oggy - your baby will have a feast! Hmm yeah I thought as much, now I can't stop looking at them. Where are you in your cycle ATM?

Oggy88 · 19/11/2016 10:26

Story of my life, Sk1pper Grin

I read somewhere nipples can get darker and larger during pg, I am dreading it! My nipple to boobage ratio is already 30-70, if they get any bigger, I'm quite sure my potential little one will gag...Blush

sk1pper · 19/11/2016 10:20

Hep - it's so great you get to join us with OPKs and pg tests and symptom checking again. Grin

Talking of symptoms, my nipples look massive. I have very small breasts and they look out of place at the moment. But other than that, feel normal...

harrietm87 · 19/11/2016 09:00

Oh no alexia really hope you're ok.

skipper that prisoner of yourself thing - so true. You have such a good attitude.

kwick I must have missed the significance of the pineapple - what does it do??

Have a good weekend all

Starmist · 19/11/2016 08:15

Kwick I know what you mean. There's a heavily pregnant lady in our office & sometimes I find myself not wanting to talk to her as I'm so insanely jealous. That's mean because she's such a lovely person. I hate feeling jealous, but with all we're going through it has to be natural to a certain extent.

Ah Hep that's such great news, I'm really pleased Grin

HepKestrel · 19/11/2016 07:58

Flowers kwick

I keep thinking if I get pregnant now, how me going in maternity leave next year will be a pain in the arse for the project I work on..... Ah well. Tough!

My first opk this morning! CD 8 so negative as expected. I'm just so happy to be back and operational again! Plus the new kitchen is almost finished! Can I be really sad and excited about having a dishwasher for the first time! Still have a week to go before we can put the house back- and so much cleaning to be done.

Lsfx to all of you. Not sure how I would have coped this year without all of you.

Flowers to all those with unwelcome AFs and baby bombs. Go team tempers! Go team opkers! And go team IUI and IVFers!

sk1pper · 19/11/2016 07:02

Kwick - don't feel so bad, I think it's a natural knee jerk reaction to think certain things of people when they announce pregnancies. I felt really ashamed of myself a few month ago when a really over-weight woman at work (who happened to be eating a mac Donald's whilst we waited for the office lift to arrive) announced to her colleague that she'd finished the nursery. It was only then that I could just make out she was pregnant. I was instantly angry at the universe because I felt like I was doing everything to get pregnant and some people were just winging it, not loosing weight, not eating he right things etc etc. And then I realised that this meant I thought I was more deserving of it than her and I felt sick of myself. I don't judge anyone so quickly anymore, you only make a prisoner of yourself and I know my time will come.

I didn't set my alarm today, was gonna leave temping and get a lie in but lol and behold - I'm up at 7. FML.

kwick · 19/11/2016 06:33

So I got baby bombed yesterday... I feel very conflicted about it. Someone who reports into me, who is extremely young, told me she is 4 months pregnant... I nearly blurted out "I did not know you were married!" But stopped myself... what has that got to do with it? Plus I am not married and here I am trying to get preggers!!! Feel confused Confused anyway she seemed happy and I congratulated her (whilst feeling wildly jealous and thinking how the hell I will cover her maternity leave - that said in France (which is where she is) they get less than 6 months and 1 month has to be taken before the birth).
Anyway just had to get that off my boobage - hope I can sleep some more now...

MouseLove · 18/11/2016 21:06

Just been for an amazing meal. Omg sooooo good. Fresh pineapple was on the dessert menu. Almost ordered but I caved and got a tiramisu instead hahaha. Cream and lady fingers does the same job surely??

Kwick your chukka chukka has just made me real life lol. Grin

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

kwick · 18/11/2016 20:49

Thanks sk1pper - I got one in M&S for a £1 and I have just eaten 2/5 qnd am absolutely stuffed... hope it is working its magic Grin will be taking 2/5 with me in my suitcase on sunday and will eat 1/5 tomorrow.

Do we have any tests coming up? I want to see a BFP and I want to see one now

sk1pper · 18/11/2016 20:28

Mouse - glad you are having such a nice time, sounds like you've covered yourself nicely too in the DTD department - fx for you!

Star - your folder is wonderful, you know shits about to get serious when you make one of those bad boys.

Kwick - if your near a large Sainsbury's pick up one of their jumbo Pineapples. We get our shopping online and when it arrived the delivery driver was like "having people over for dessert" and I'm just casually like "nope, it's all for me". This pineapple was humungeous, I've been eating it all week and it hasn't gone brown after being cut.

kwick · 18/11/2016 19:08

Yep jam I hear you: the waiting drives me insane (and panicky).

Just so you guys know my life is as follows: wake-MN-work-MN-sleep... except for a few interludes where I spend time with my nephew...

jam £400 is good for a Hycosy - mine was £550 at CRGH.

This temping malarkey sounds way too hard to me Confused

Welcome miranda!!! FX you get your BFP tout suite!

nicky I just had my thyroid checked on nhs - I normally pay and have it done at my FC but seeing as I had to have loads of other tests I got it included.

mouse just keep doing chukka-chukka...LSFX!

LOL starmist I LOVE your folder. womble log tee hee hee!!! I burst out laughing on the bus!

Have bought some more pineapple the one I had last night was rank Envy

geeup · 18/11/2016 18:50

London - softcups are really easy so don't worry. Don't think of it like a tampon i.e. you don't push it up. Just squeeze it sideways and then poke in and push back (you'll see what I mean) towards your bum and it'll pop out into a circle again and sit just above your pubic bone. When you want to take it out you just hook it down under the pubic bone again with one finger and you'll be able to gently pull out. If it seems tricky to get out first time, relax and just keep trying. I can't feel mine at all once it's in - less than a tampon even.

MouseLove · 18/11/2016 18:29

Star!!!! Womble log. Love it!! Thanks ladies. That makes sense I might get a few dark days. Looking good that I might actually ovulate this cycle then. I'm happy about that. Smile

MrsG280516 · 18/11/2016 18:21

Hi Mouse oh I loved that room in the Vatican, such an amazing ceiling.

I think it's normal to get them over a few days yeah, they're probably ever so slightly different each time. They should start to go back negative soon.

Londonjam · 18/11/2016 18:21

Excellent work mrsg and tenner
That picture is stunning mouse! Keep going wth the DTD

Love your folder starmist I hope your womble is taking note

I have a soft cups question. Penguin geeup I believe you use them? It's fw starting about now and I am planning to use soft cups around ovulation. Any tips on how to ahem get them in place? Do you squish them sideways to insert and then turn the cup upwards? I'm struggling to picture how this works...

YouOweMeATenner · 18/11/2016 18:17

Womble log GrinGrin

Starmist · 18/11/2016 18:14

Here's my folder... it's all ready for my opks now.

Sorry Nicky Flowers hope hycosy helps.

Kwick keeping everything crossed for you.

Welcome Miranda FX it doesn't take long for you. The waiting is definitely the worst bit.

Good work Mrs! Star

Evening ladies. Had a lovely day at the Vatican today!! It was really beautiful and I've just got back to the hotel (desperate for a wee) and got a positive OPK!!!! I'm now convinced my faint one yesterday was because I had drank too much and not waited long enough to get a good sample. Sooooo.... I don't have a clue really what that could mean. Is it normal to get 3 dark days??

I DTD on days 8, 11 & 13. Today is CD14 and so I had pretty dark lines on day 12 and today.

Woohoo go Tenner! We are doing SMEP too but CD10 became positive OPK day so gave done CD5,8,10,11 so far. I'm worried tomorrow might be a struggle but we're going to take it easy and have a bath and glass of wine.

Is anyone coming to the end of the 2ww and due to test? We need some more BFPs!

YouOweMeATenner · 18/11/2016 18:04

Hi all.
mrsg well done with all the BDing!
miranda welcome! We are stats twins, same age, same cycle Smile
mouse hope you're having a great time in Rome, would love to go! Such a romantic city Wink
star get a pic of your folder up, dying to see it!
Well wishes for everyone else!

I'm working my way through SMEP. Hasn't been too bad so far. Bit anxious about BDing 3 days in a row once I O. DP had testicular cancer a few years ago and had one of the boyos removed. I've these constant thoughts that he only has half the amount of swimmers as everyone else, and that BDing too much will cause them to run out. Illogical I know, doctors have told him that he can still produce a normal amount of sperm, but I'm still paranoid.

Tried pre-seed a few times too. I'm still trying to figure out the ideal amount. Things got a bit too slippery yesterday! Looks like I'm on course to O on Monday. We'll see how it goes :)
