Thread 21 TTC #1 - The one where all our cycles went haywire but we DID NOT GIVE UP

Calling all clomid-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX) We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

Meant to mention penguin too been thinking of you and hope you're okay

EJ2009 · 21/11/2016 21:55

Geeup - i had my flu jab during my last 2ww (i work in the nhs with kids so have to) and the nurse said it was fine.

Londonjam · 21/11/2016 21:50

All the best for your scan tomorrow star I'm sure you'll be fine

Good to have you back miw sorry to hear you've been feeling low. There are a few others we are missing - alice pugmummy bluebird hope you are all doing okay

Skipper I am trying my best! I feel so bloody fertile today just desperate to shag DH and he's not sodding here! So frustrating

That's frustrating mouse hope you can work around it

MouseLove · 21/11/2016 20:36

You're completely right Sk1pper. I'm too late for this cycle lol. So if I am upduffed (and I'm being totally realistic and thinking I'm probably not this early off bc) then I'll just need to tell them when I have the scan. And if not then I'll just need to wait. Or completely ignore her and try anyway and always be an old lady

sk1pper · 21/11/2016 20:16

Mouse - I’ve taken a look at your OPKs and IMO I’d say you ovulated CD15/16 . I think its been said already but opks will fade over time so just bear than in mind when you are looking back on them. You’ve DTD enough times, should be plenty of swimmers about! I’m glad your appointment went well, it is bad news about the MRI and holding of TTC but its too late for you this cycle isn’t it? You’ve got a 2ww now so maybe your appointment will come in before your next fertile window?

Alexia - its really not fair, I think its safe to say everyone on here was so excited for you. I don’t really know what to say to you. Sometimes its hard to pick yourself up from something like that but you’re one of the strongest people on here, so if anyone can do it - it’s you.

Hep - yes, you’re back in the game! Congratulations, you must be pretty chuffed?

Miw - sorry AF got you, and early too (the bitch!) - console yourself with your favourites foods, that always makes me feel better.

London - suck in your ovaries in to stop them ovulating!! Grin Seriously though, don’t worry - even if you ovulate in the next 3 days, you’ll be fine with the swimmers from yesterday.

geeup - it shouldn’t affect it at all, if you were pre-ovulation there is always the chance it would delay your ovulation day but in the 2ww it shouldn’t matter. I would get it done before you get preggers!

Star - don’t feel nervous about the scan, I actually found it much easier than a smear. I had mine done during full, heavy AF which I thought was going to be really embaressing but the ladies doing it were so proffessional and kind. I think you have to be in that line of work. Good luck though and enjoy your treat afterwards!

MouseLove · 21/11/2016 19:40

So I went for my rheumatology appointment this afternoon. I'm sore from all the prodding but the doctor was sooooo nice.

Unfortunately I need an MRI scan which I'll get an appointment for soon and I had X-rays on my knees as I had swelling and poor movement.

The Dr suggested that I hold off on TTC until after the MRI and that any potential treatment might throw a spanner in the works. She's asked that if I think I'm pregnant when the appointment comes through to provide a sample. I doubt I will be if I'm honest. It will probably be a few weeks for the appointment so I'll probably miss a few cycles. Gutted if I'm honest, but there's no point in crying about it.

Star I hope your scan goes well, and score for popcorn and pizza!!!!

Jam yay come on, I'm chanting Friday surge Friday surge Friday surge.

Skip you could be too early. Test again this weekend.

Sk1pper I have such a good feeling about you. Keeping my fingers firmly crossed. Some great symptoms!!!

Musicgrrl · 21/11/2016 19:24

jam I'm having a mini rage at my OPKs and thought of you. Had a darkish one this morning and thought - excellent - surge is on it's way, a day later than usual. I normally get a fade in pattern. Did another one tonight - nada! It could almost be a negative pregnancy test! Grrrrrr.

miwelaisjacydo · 21/11/2016 19:08

Skip don't feel bad honestly. 🌷 It's only natural as its something you long for.

Am thinking of going to see the doctor as nothing has happened yet. What do I say? What should I be asking for?

Starmist · 21/11/2016 18:10

Ladies I'm loving these signs, FX for some BFPs soon xx

FXSkip I would have done the same thing, please don't beat yourself up.

Miw I know just what you mean about feeling like losing who you are. Hang in there lovey.

I've got my internal scan tomorrow & I'm feeling really nervous about it Sad DH has planned a cinema & pizza express trip afterwards though so I have something to look forward to, bless him.

Londonjam · 21/11/2016 17:18

Fxskip you are not a bitch! Being around gorgeous little babies is the hardest most ultimate reminder of why we're all so frustrated and sad I don't blame you for crying I would have too!

Gee I've no idea maybe put it off just in case?

Done three opks today and all negative - but faint lines are there. I have noticeable amounts of clear fertile cm so I think actually I'm on my way up to the LH surge. Really hoping it can hold off until the end of the week!! DH is home weds so we can shag shag shag as soon as he's back. Argh his job drives me crazy!!!

Miranda234 · 21/11/2016 17:08

Wow it's all looking exciting on here, FX to you all.

I'm now on day 30 and slowly going crazy, I hate not knowing how long this cycle could be, my last cycle was 25 days but I guess that doesn't mean anything! I don't really have any symptoms other than being really tired but I feel like Ive felt this tired for a couple of months now. Im getting annoyed with myself for thinking that even though I don't have any symptoms I still might be pregnant as some people don't have any symptoms for ages, I seem to trick myself into it, symptoms or no symptoms!

Hope you all have a good evening.

geeup · 21/11/2016 16:49

Would/have you guys had the flu jab? I have it every year but just chickened out of my appointment as I'm in the 2ww. The nurse said it's totally fine and actually recommended if you're pregnant and tests done on 2nd and 3rd trimester but I wondered if it could affect my immune system and therefore implantation Confused
Probably being stupid but panicked.

Oggy88 · 21/11/2016 16:08

Ah, I so hope so, MrsG!!! A bfp I looong overdue. Come on, fertile Christmas! Grin

MrsG280516 · 21/11/2016 15:48

I have such a good feeling about this month for everyone! We are really overdue some BFPs!! LSFX everyone Star

sk1pper · 21/11/2016 15:34

Skip - it could still happen, you are by no means out. My sisters a nurse and she's just told me not to test now as some women can take a week after AF date to get a positive test. Geeup and I will keep you company, we can slowly go mad together.

FXSkip · 21/11/2016 15:17

Jam you're well covered, and I know we are all hoping for this to be your month. PMA!!

Sk1pper you are a bad-ass non-tester! I decided to leave the 2nd test, so had 2 glasses of water and 2 cups of tea and then tested again at 12pm - big surprise BFN. Now I'm mad at myself, and have resolved not to test again. I've got a clearblue digi at home, sitting all precious and gloating at me from the cupboard, and I ain't testing until I've passed my longest cycle yet which would be on Sunday. Just got to keep myself busy until then or AF shows up, which I am sure she will right after I've tested! Fertility Friend isn't loving my chances, so I am sure I am out.

Went for lunch today with a friend and her 5 week old baby girl. I basically ignored the baby as I couldn't deal with it and cried all the way home. What a bitch.

Londonjam · 21/11/2016 13:47

thanks music yes perhaps and hopefully its just a spike whilst its on its way up to the full surge. DH gets home Wednesday morning so we can dtd then, so I hope it holds off! If it has been today then at least we dtd yesterday. God I hope we are covered :( We have been covered for the last 11 cycles and had nothing - I can't cope with not even giving cycle 12 a good shot!! :(

Musicgrrl · 21/11/2016 13:38

Jam just wanted to share that I had a random dark (for me) OPK at around CD9/10 when I was just starting my usual run up to O. I was worried it was ovulation but it went light again after and my temps didn't change. No idea what caused it and haven't had it before but thought yours might be a similar thing.

Londonjam · 21/11/2016 13:27

Skipper and fxskip everything crossed for you both!

Had tiny bit of EWCM but OPK is now negative. Wondering if yesterday was a fluctuation on the lead up to a full positive?

Got lots of niggly and some quite strong ovulation pains, so either yesterday was the surge and I'm ovulating today or it's still on its way...

Nicky883 · 21/11/2016 12:39

skipper i am getting vert excited for you !!!

geeup · 21/11/2016 12:22

Skip and skipper - I'm right with you in the crazy haze! 10dpo and sore boobs but we know we don't trust them. I'll test on wed FMU (12dpo) if I don't cave already tomorrow because I'm seeing my fertility consultant wed lunchtime so want to know before I see him. Trying not to obsess but spending all my time staring at my chart and reading mumsnet...

sk1pper · 21/11/2016 12:13

It's honestly very tempting but I don't want to know right now. There's more time to be disappointed if I test now...if that makes sense. Ever the pessimist.

Skip - let us all know if you're retesting ...

AlexiaB · 21/11/2016 12:11

You're all amazing Flowers❤️

Preg symptoms from ovulation are real my friends!!! I'm excited for you skipper please POAC! (pee on a cheapie). I threw up for the first time the morning after I ovulated and then almost every day after, plus all day nausea. I didn't get crosshairs until late so I thought I was just really ill, pregnancy hadn't even crossed my mind! It was crazy.

Skip no control line? How weird. I want to give you a massive Here's hoping next year we'll all be upduffed and this awful year will be a distant memory Flowers Flowers

Jam I agree it's better to get a couple in before O. I think your timing will be good even though I know you like to go hard in the FW! Btw, did you ever get DH's SA numbers?

Mrs your chart looks fabGrin whoop! I was going to say 'add cm' before I read your follow up comment. Yay for solid CHs!

Mouse hope you get some answers later lovely. Your chart's hard to read with the missing temps (as you know). I still think you have it well covered!
