Thread 21 TTC #1 - The one where all our cycles went haywire but we DID NOT GIVE UP

Calling all clomid-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX) We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

Nicky - thank you so much (again!) I'm going to look into this tonight. I just feel like the NHS stuff is taking too long - my gran would telling me that patience is a virtue. But fuck it.

Hope everyone had a lovely day xx

MrsG280516 · 23/11/2016 10:25

5dpo and the tww is dragging... argh. I need a hobby (other than MN). Think I might get myself one of those adult colouring books Grin

WantingBaby1 · 23/11/2016 09:55

Glad the eggs has held off for you london

Cd 24 and had a terrible night, bad stomach pains and now backache. Woke up expecting af to have arrived 5 days early but nothing. Now.feeling headachy. This sucks :(

Londonjam · 23/11/2016 09:14

Mouse that sounds like ovulation cramps. I get them strongly, have been having them all week. If you've had EWCM too then I reckon you're ovulating.

Day 13 OPK still negative - well done for waiting little egg! And DH on his way home. Excuse my earlier freak out - normal service is now resumed SmileHalo

kavanaughkj · 23/11/2016 09:13

FXSkip, you can put me down for a ticket for 30 Nov, though I'm not holding out much hope this month. Everything feels pretty much normal - certainly not getting any 'omg I might be pregnant' moments. I did try reflexology this month for the first time but it was after ovulation (should really be before) - very relaxing though. :) I've booked myself in again for next month in the hopes that I'll be able to catch my most fertile moment.

Hugs to you skipper - I'm sorry about your BFN. :(

Nicky883 · 23/11/2016 08:46

Skipper i am having one done on friday from create it will be 400 pounds

Here is what the peocedure entails

The procedure takes approximately half an hour. You will have an internal scan first; the doctor will take measurements of the uterus (womb), endometrium (lining of womb) and ovaries. Under ultrasound guidance a thin tube will be passed into the womb through the neck of the womb and a small amount (5-10 mls) of fluid (normal saline) is injected into the womb to observe the presence of any abnormalities (polyp, fibroids etc) in the lining of the womb. A sulphur based medium called Sonoview is then passed into the womb and the fallopian tubes to assess the tubes. You may experience some discomfort during the procedure.

Someone was speaking about this before (sorry can't remember what was said)...

Where and how can I get a private hycosy done? Does it include some kind of dye wash? And how expensive will it be (roughly)?

MouseLove · 22/11/2016 23:03

My OPK trailed off after my 4 days of positive strong lines. But I'm having cramps really low down today and feel tender so I think AF might be making an early appearance and my body is freaking out. Either that or I'm coming down with something as I woke up this morning to a temp spike and I had a major sweat on. SadHmm ah well, I'll just have to wait and see. Still very early days.

WantingBaby1 · 22/11/2016 22:13

I had ewcm up until today (5 dpo), showing up when I wipe. Its never a bad thing as you may not have ovulated when you think you did, and it's the ewcm that helps the sperm travel up to the egg. I sound like a biology lesson now!

So I had some odd tummy pains over the last couple of days. Did a final ovulation test and that second line is still there, faint but there. Which is really odd for me on cd23. I had a really strong line on cd17 and then didn't test anymore as I figured I must have ovulated around cd18. Is this a good sign?!

sk1pper · 22/11/2016 21:49

Mouse - don't think it's unusual, I've had it last a while post ovulation before.

Thanks girls - yup PMA!

MouseLove · 22/11/2016 21:07

I don't need to go poking for CM. it's just there when I wipe.

Talking of. Is is unusual to have EWCM after ovulation?? I'm getting a little today. (3DPO)

Sk1pper I still have a good vibe Hun, you might have implanted late or still be too early. PMA. PMA!!

MrsG280516 · 22/11/2016 21:04

So sorry sk1pper I had a really good feeling for you. Urgh this sucks Flowers

sk1pper · 22/11/2016 20:55

Dixie - yup!! As Star said, have a rootle (what a great word) round. Or a rummage. To check for EWCM, use two fingers. When you inspect it externally it should stretch between two fingers.

Well I've never had any notable symptoms before, so maybe this is a good thing? And the spotting has reduced considerably which means my luteal phase is a bit healthier.

I really hope we get a sticky BFP on the thread this month - we really really need one. Good luck to anyone in the 2ww.

Starmist · 22/11/2016 20:43

Sorry Skipper FlowersFlowers our bodies are so mean xx

Starmist · 22/11/2016 20:43

Yeah Dixie shove a finger up there, up to the knuckle & have a good rootle around, pull it out & see what the consistency is like. It's grim at first but you get used to it. It's interesting to see how it changes through your cycle. Your cervix will feel soft when fertile (like touching your lips) & firmer when you aren't fertile (like touching your nose)

geeup · 22/11/2016 20:39

Gutted for you skipper. Big hugs. Flowers

Dixiechick1991 · 22/11/2016 20:31

skipper well be being naive I just assumed everyone was walking around with mucus pants haha.
So to check you check internally

Always learning

sk1pper · 22/11/2016 20:29

Oh, and obviously my body is playing some cruel joke with me because I'm just had more cramping and my brown spotting has started. I am NEVER believing my body again.

sk1pper · 22/11/2016 20:28

Nicky - thanks that would be massively helpful!!

Dixie - welcome, how do you check your CM if you don't mind me asking. It's rare I get a lot coming from through to knickers so I tend to check the consistency with my fingers. If you don't think you get enough EWCM during your fertile window you can take EPO capsules between period and ovulation. Otherwise, drink plenty of water.

Catinthecorner · 22/11/2016 20:27

I was due Sunday but am waiting to be a few days over before I test (I've been late a few times in the past and it's all false hope). I feel period-y too so I'm almost despondent before I test.

Someone talk me down from testing now. I've held out this long I may as well wait for the morning.

Dixiechick1991 · 22/11/2016 20:14

Hello everyone
I've just spent the last hour reading through this thread & you all seem suh a lovely bunch. My stats
Age:25
TTC 1
Cycle 4
CD 5 (with the longest most annoying AF ever!)

DH is working away pretty much every day bar one or two weekend days for the next month so I think I'm already out this month before I've even began.

Quick question, I've been OPKing but found I don't get any noticeable CM, would I definitely know if I had EWCM? Sorry if TMI but I'm still fairly new to this

Nicky883 · 22/11/2016 20:02

Skipper i believe is a relatively new thing as from what i read recent research shows that thyroid function can make it harder to concieve .It might not be the reason but since its easier to treat i believe is worth persuing
I will update you on what the consultant says on friday

sk1pper · 22/11/2016 19:49

Why aren't GPs looking for a result between 1-2? I recon even if i bring this up in my meeting next week he'll still want to refer me. Will definitely get the Doc to print everything off though. Thanks for sharing xx

Nicky883 · 22/11/2016 19:18

Skipper here is a picture of what was measured on day 3 to 5
I am hopping the create fertility consultant will prescribe me something on friday

sk1pper · 22/11/2016 19:06

Thanks girls, was a little bummed out but you've made me feel better xx

Nicky - thank you for mentioning that. So what are the 3-5 day bloods measuring? Is it the 21 day bloods that are looking for TSH?
