Thread 21 TTC #1 - The one where all our cycles went haywire but we DID NOT GIVE UP

Calling all clomid-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX) We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

Hi all just thought I would mention Audrey/Star had had her baby! 😀A boy!

AlexiaB · 29/11/2016 00:31

Hey lovelies, I'm still here stalking you all and silently cheering you on. I've not been in the best of moods or feeling very well so sorry I've been so quiet. Femara has floored me unexpectedly, plus all the CP bleeding which finally stopped yesterday. Femara gave me severe tooth/jaw ache (so weird!) loads of headaches and serious fatigue to the point where I didn't know if I could get up some mornings. It's still ongoing but clearing now hopefully.

Ps. Starky had a baby boy yesterdayGrin yes I'm a grads thread creeper because I want to be on it so bloody much

Londonjam · 28/11/2016 23:03

Great decisions for your kids kwick I am going to add to that Start Savings Young!

Hep can sympathise with the oh and the booze. Can't seem to get DH to listen on this either. Hope you managed to catch the egg

Thinking of penguin alexia alice bluebird pug hope you're all doing okay

HepKestrel · 28/11/2016 22:35

Hi kwick , I'm still lurking!

Haven't had the most successful fw. In between building work running late, a weekend away at friends (and their babies) on a creaky camped, with oh getting completely drunk.... Only managed a quickie yesterday. Which is when I think I ovulated.

Got a medium strength opk on Saturday with a very negative one on Sunday. At my parents tonight as my dad has health problems.

Calculations are that next fw is Christmas so oh will be completly pissed again....

sk1pper · 28/11/2016 22:13

EJ - that sounds so familiar, Id love to comply on AF but (and TMI) we tried it once and it was absolutely disgusting so don't know what he expects. We don't really do oral sex because I have a terrible gag reflex and I don't expect something I can't reciprocate. So it's literally like twiddling my thumbs...he thinks I only want sex during fertile week but it's not true. As soon as AF is finished I'm trying every other day and really I could be leaving it until I get a high on my advanced opk. I only really say it's my fertile window if I'm struggling to seduce, and then it comes across badly - it's more like I need this rather than I want this. The problems of trying for so long I think.

EJ2009 · 28/11/2016 21:29

Mouse - big hug hun. Hoping this is your cycles levelling out.

Skipper - im bored too.lkkewise had a horny dh all weekend while i had af. It comes to fertile week and im trying nice underwear, following him accross the bed and i get "i suppose this is your good week...!"

Kwick- personally i wouldnt go for ant or dec but if you want to fancy both then im sure thats ok. Just dont tell too many people maybe...

kwick · 28/11/2016 20:48

Hep you ok my darling?

kwick · 28/11/2016 20:45

You are all so lovely! i had a bit of a cry over your comments... fricking hope this is not a sign AF is on the way (third crying jag of the day).

sk1pper don't worry I ain't ever leaving here!!!!

mouse well said and hear, hear!!! "Positivity breeds positivity"
Really sorry about AF Flowers

I am indeed music thank you! Grin
FX for you too!

kavan remember: you are in perfect time

This is good news jam I did laugh a bit about the no ovaries bit though - I only have one ovary and I have to remember to tell the scanner as if I don't they spend ages rooting around for missing right ovary!

Ah jeez starmist what a faff - although I did that this am - pissed in a pot and then went back to sleep for another hour, then tested (BFN)

Day trip (for work) to Brussels tomorrow... hope I sleep better tonight than last night...

FX for all of the testers this week - I really feel like we should get a BFP round about.... NOW!!!!!

BTW Here are the decisions I have already taken for my future child/children:

  • they are all going into the trade
  • they are having kids young

Quick question: is it wrong to have a crush on both Ant & Dec? Blush

WantingBaby1 · 28/11/2016 20:31

I'm testing tomorrow mouse. Trying not to get my hopes up. Af is probably around the corner, I'm already coming out in spots Sad

If it is AF mouse then yes today would be cd1. But sounds like it could be implantation bleeding, no?

sk1pper · 28/11/2016 20:23

I find that a hot bath is a sure way to trigger AF if your in limbo with spotting. May work mouse if you want to be sure one way or another? Ugh this really isn't our month ladies...

Starmist · 28/11/2016 19:43

Thanks for the list Gee I've saved it for future reference.

Kwick the instructions on my opk say pee in a pot, wait 20 mins for it to reach room temperature & then test. So faffy! I'm keeping everything crossed for you by the way.

Mouse I'm so sorry Flowers xx I hope ur ok. Look after yourself tonight. I'd count CD1 as tomorrow.

Music FX for you but it's good to have a plan to see your doctor soon & get the ball rolling on tests.

Mrs put the tests away lovey! Hang in there. Hope AF stays away.

Jam that's great about the scan, I was thinking of you earlier. So good to know you ovulated too.

Kav I know exactly what you mean. I've thought about talking to a counsellor or something at times (but haven't as yet). It's such a hard process so do whatever you need to get through it.

I did my first opk & got a faint line yesterday. Did another today & could barely see the line at all. Wonder if I drank too much. I didn't go to the loo or drink anything for 2.5 hours before testing but I did drink quite a bit before that Hmm

MouseLove · 28/11/2016 19:27

It's not very common wanting. Are you testing tomorrow? WinkGrin pretty please

So if today was CD24 and AF is here, does that mean today is CD1 and I had a 23 day cycle? Im ok now I've seen DH. It's only cycle 2.

WantingBaby1 · 28/11/2016 18:57

Sorry mouse Sad

Does anyone know how common implantation bleeding is? I'm symptom spotting (obviously) like a mad woman as af is due today but hasn't made an appearance yet.

MouseLove · 28/11/2016 18:56

Got home from work. Pretty sure it's AF. More bleeding. Ah well. Think my ovaries are protesting about being another year older on Wednesday. Shock

geeup · 28/11/2016 18:54

Hope it is implantation bleeding mouse! FYI spotting is a show of blood (pink or brown) that you don't need a tampon or pad for (i.e. Just when you wipe or just need a pantyliner). CD1 of AF is the first show of red blood or first pink or brown you need a tampon or pad for. Apparently.

Musicgrrl · 28/11/2016 18:48

It really does sound like it could be implantation mouse! But also can see not wanting to get hopes up.

MrsG280516 · 28/11/2016 18:17

I really hope it's implantation bleeding Mouse the cramps and spotting do for the bill along with being 8dpo.

MouseLove · 28/11/2016 18:15

To be honest I'm not that fussed about temping. I log each day but unless I remember I might not look at it for a few days. If that makes sense.

I've not had anymore loss. Possibly a tiny tiny bit of light pink. I'll see if eating triggers AF. I think it was just the initial shock that rocked me. Wasn't expecting to see that. I'm not sure what spotting is but there was a bit of fresh blood (maybe 2cm) and then little globs of dark stuff (0.5cm) which kinda looked like coloured cm? Maybe I'm spotting? I had twinges last night. Should have known.

Musicgrrl · 28/11/2016 17:40

It's an interesting one I think. The reason I started temping was because I wasn't getting +ve OPKs and my LP was so short I wasn't sure I was even ovulating. So it was reassuring from that perspective. But the stress of temping in the tww is pretty awful when you get a bad temp. I agree that it can ruin your day, kav!

Miranda234 · 28/11/2016 17:21

So sorry Mouse really hope it's not AF

sk1pper · 28/11/2016 17:13

Mouse - I'm not temping seriously this cycle. Just taking my temp as and when I get up and not even looking at the chart. Normally I'd set my alarm for 7, take the temp then lie awake unable to get back to sleep - at the weekends it's really shit. I'm off this week and just being casual about it, temps seem much less all over the place so wondering if I was stressing over it before causing it to fluctuate. I might stop doing it altogether, it seems a bit unnecessary and it's not doing an awful lot for me personally.

kavanaughkj · 28/11/2016 16:49

I'd echo Music's advice, Mouse - I temped every day for the first 4 or so months and had to stop as it was basically dictating what kind of a day I would go on to have. If my temp was low in the TWW then the day would be shit and I would be grumpy from the moment I opened my eyes. I've found it's less stressful just to keep an eye on CM and do OPKs so I don't miss ovulation.

Musicgrrl · 28/11/2016 16:43

mouse yes, it's hard to tell from the chart. If you feel like temping is stressing you out a bit you could try giving it a break for a while? Going to the gym sounds like a great idea. I went for a jog yesterday to achieve the same thing.
