Thread 21 TTC #1 - The one where all our cycles went haywire but we DID NOT GIVE UP

Calling all clomid-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX) We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

Jam I know a real life baby! Wow. I think I'd join it because it's like an "I made it moment!" but I'd also join the mumsnet DD and fertility friend DD threads as they're much more suitable now imo. There are tons of real life babies on that thread! 20-30 now I'd say. I use it as learning tool, learnt so much!

Londonjam · 02/12/2016 20:47

I think 52% will be motility. 300m is incredible! How are you not upduffed?! Go mrskipper

Sorry winging hope you're alright

Awww that's a sweet name. As if starky has an actual baby now! Wow that's amazing.

Would you guys join the grads thread now? I'm assumed it's all babies. Not sure I would.

AlexiaB · 02/12/2016 20:37

Oh and in case anyone's interested Starky called her boy Lawrence Elijah Bryn.

AlexiaB · 02/12/2016 20:35

Jam Yes I'm hoping that's the case too. Lol when I finish I'm always so scared of that happening too.

Skipper that's great!!! 52% does sound more like a motility number but either way it's fab news.

Sorry Wing FlowersFlowers Hope you've got some nice plans this weekend to cheer you up.

sk1pper · 02/12/2016 20:28

Winging - in so sorry, I'm also ashamed to say your post made me laugh. Not at you, but at the irony of it. AF really picks her moments. I can definitely see her as that irritating, bumbling woman from the tampon commercial.

sk1pper · 02/12/2016 20:23

Im sure I've read somewhere that if some of it comes out of you it doesn't matter. Most will get through the cervix through ejaculation. Obviously the more the better but don't fear, there will be loads of those swimmers doing their duty!

Alexia - I'm struggling to remember. I was going to get the results printed but they were so good I didn't bother. The count was something like 300 million, he said it was huge. I can't remember the exact percentages for the rest but there weren't many deformed - I think 52% were normal? Good motility (especially since it took us 40 mins to get from home to lab) and volume and ph were all normal.

WingingIt83 · 02/12/2016 20:22

Well I'm out for this month, AF arrived this afternoon, and the irony was not lost that it happened on the way to a meal with work colleagues as we waved my number 2 off on her maternity leave!

Londonjam · 02/12/2016 19:58

Alexia I know how you feel! Last fw I ahem finished after him, so to speak, and what felt like all his spunk shot out of me. I was gutted! Hopefully the good guys went straight through the cervix and we just lost duds.

Yes equally curious to know brilliant SA results too to be honest!

AlexiaB · 02/12/2016 19:45

Binky you're such a sweetheart, thank you. Sorry to hear your cycles are messing you around. If it will ease your mind I'd recommend talking to your GP about it but I don't think it's anything much to worry about at this stage. Just keep tracking O each month with CM/OPKs and don't go off your previous cycle length if it's unpredictable.

Hi pug nice to see you back. Sorry you're stuck in limboland!

So sorry it didn't work out Kwick Sad BFN's are never fun but going through it on your own and the expense of it all too can't be fun. I'm glad you have us to chat to. Here's hoping it's lucky IVF #3 for you!

Skipper that's absolutely fabulous news!!! I'm so chuffed for you Xmas Grin Now relax (your plans sounds great!) and you'll be upduffed in no time I'm sure Xmas Wink Also really eager to know your DH's 'incredible' numbers. Do you have them?

So we dtd around 11pm last night. DH made me laugh right after and I felt some shoot out of me Blush Ahhhh! It felt like losing a load of money or something but hoping enough got where it needs to be. Just need a temp rise tomorrow now. Not too confident about this cycle but early O is always a bonus.

Happy weekend Xmas Smile

Binkybunny13 · 02/12/2016 19:05

Great news skipper! So pleased for you Smile

Happy weekend ladies!

sk1pper · 02/12/2016 18:16

London - ah yes, thought you were due soon for results, hope it's all okay! We'll probably all have our BFPs before we even need the consultant Smile

Londonjam · 02/12/2016 17:53

Hoping I won't be far behind you Nicky skipper we've got our follow up GP appointment on the 14th where we go through all the results and get referred to the fertility unit. Will prepare myself for a three month wait for our first appointment. Hopefully the lifestyle changes and supplements DH is on will be making a difference before then too.

Happy Friday everyone Wine

sk1pper · 02/12/2016 15:19

Nicky - that's awesome Smile glad we are together on this. There's always such a wait for everything on the NHS but I'm going to use the time to sort some other stuff out like my bathroom repairs and recipe ideas for Xmas. Let me know when you get your appointment, will be interested to know what the first one is like.

Nicky883 · 02/12/2016 14:41

Hello everyone ! I have been away for a few days and i just read all the good news !
Congratulations kava ! Must be so nice to see that second line after all those months !
Congrats wanting and Mrsg as well !
Thats fantastic news skipper i got th e same results as tou waiting time is 3 months for fertility clinic so i am just going to stop everything and nust enjoy dtd !

MouseLove · 02/12/2016 14:38

Yep I agree I jumped off all the buses. There was people in there trying for a few weeks, being rude and I'm not interested. Lol.

AF seems to be light today. So Sunday might be GO DTD time. I'm not sure when to OPK from this cycle, maybe CD10.

sk1pper · 02/12/2016 13:34

Thanks everyone xx

Mouse - it's tempting but I'm so nosey, I need to keep up to date with everyone else. I don't feel like MN causes any stress, maybe when I was on the regular monthly bus thread and every other person was getting a BFP. On this thread it really makes me happy to see a BFP (or three!) - you jammy women...Grin

Musicgrrl · 02/12/2016 12:58

skipper that is such a fantastic news. It must be a huge relief! It's just Mother Nature taking her sweet time. And doctors orders to relax and enjoy the Christmas period! Xmas Smile

WingingIt83 · 02/12/2016 12:19

sk1plp great news from the specialist. Happy Ttc!

Londonjam · 02/12/2016 12:15

Winging I use the app it's much easier

Londonjam · 02/12/2016 12:14

Skipper that's brilliant Smile I don't think you'll be needing that specialist Wink happy chilled TTC Halo

MouseLove · 02/12/2016 12:08

Sk1pper. I'm so happy for you. That is fantastic news. I almost want to tell you to get off here for a few cycles, relax, completely forget about the outcome and just enjoy the ride. I'm almost tempted myself since I've stopped temping this cycle but it's a bit early yet for me. And I'd miss you lol. But really. The body is a magical thing, I think we should trust it more.

MrsG280516 · 02/12/2016 12:03

That's amazing news Sk1pper, really hope that ditching all the tracking works for you!

HepKestrel · 02/12/2016 12:01

woohoo skipper !!! that is great news !

your doctor sounds ace !

Miranda234 · 02/12/2016 12:01

Aw sk1pper that's such great news, must be a huge relief to know everything's ok Smile. The silly diets bit made me laugh as I have grapefruit juice, pineapple and water in front of me on my desk haha

sk1pper · 02/12/2016 11:29

I've had my appointment and it's all really good news. The doctor was amazing, ive never had him before but he went through the results thoroughly and explained it all.

Hormones levels are perfect, swabs clear, the ultrasound was fine (including ovaries which were cyst clear despite my problems with a cyst a few cycles ago) and OH's sperm was to quote the Doctor "incredible"...I swear OH hasn't stopped grinning since.

The Doctor said there is no evidence to suggest anything is wrong but we've been referred to a fertility specialist nethertheless as he says 15 months is a long time for these kind of optimal results.

He's told me the earliest I can expect to hear from a specialist is late February. And he's suggested that whilst I wait for this I do away with the temping, OPKs and silly diets and enjoy Christmas. I nearly cried when he told me the results and he said I may not feel it but he can tell this is stressing me out and I must relax. He said most his patients end up pregnant when they least expect it.

Soooo I'm going to try! No OPKs, no temping and no worrying until my fertility appointment. I definitely feel like a huge weight has been lifted now.
