Hello there

Is there anyone else on here trying for their first baby around the same age as me? 25/26? Would love to talk to someone about it as I am currently driving my husband mad with all the TTC chat!

I guess it's just a matter of exact timing and massive coincidence. Plus maybe the strength of your partner's sperm and how viable your own eggs are! SO complicated. My friend missed her pill one weekend and bam. She's pregnant. Her mum also went off the pill and immediately got pregnant with her. Then there's us lot who time everything and have been off for months...🙄

I don't get pregnant this month I swear I will tear my hair out. I am so so loaded up with sperm there's no way they can miss the egg this time!!! 😄😄😄

mrsjkerry it's all so complicated! How on earth do people get pregnant by accident "because the condom broke" ?!? Confused

mrsjkerry · 16/02/2017 17:33

As you can see from the picture. It's taken me four months to realise that unprotected sex a handful of times in FW will not lead to a BFP!

P.s. I may have to steal wedding ideas!! Getting a BFP is our priority at the mo but that doesn't stop me from nosing about our future wedding! 😍

Marie90 · 16/02/2017 17:31

These how you met your oh's are so great!! I had no idea mn would be so friendly... I was worried that when I joined there would be lots of people looking down on me as I had/have no idea about the lingo, or FWs, or OPKs!!
😁

tuxie11 · 16/02/2017 17:27

Hahaha funny how it works. I'm the same, I really stupidly assumed it was a little bit of unprotected sex, miss a period and bam. Oh how wrong was I?!

Love so many September weddings too - we had one as well!

MistyBxx · 16/02/2017 16:49

Loving everyone's stories 😍
Me and hubs got together in 2004, split in 2011, found eachother again in 2013, got engaged that Christmas and married September 2016!
I came off the pill just before my wedding, just had sex and thought that was enough but by my November af, I thought hmmm maybe there's more to it than unprotected sex...😂 did a bit of research, bought some opk strips and downloaded a couple of apps...
Found Mumsnet in Feb and opened up the world of obsession, random letters/abbreviations and sharing stuff with strangers id cringe at telling my best friends 😂🙈

ttcnovice · 16/02/2017 15:45

Marie DH and I have been together for 10 years (since I was 14 and he was 15). We met in school - he was in the year above and all the girls in my year fancied him so I thought I was very cool Grin. Got engaged on NYE 2014 and got married last September.

Started TTC in November. We were originally going to wait until January, just because a summer DC wouldn't have been ideal work wise, but we were both so broody after so long together that we thought what's the point in waiting! Glad we didn't wait now as it obviously hasn't happened as quickly as we were expecting.

mrsjkerry · 16/02/2017 15:20

Marie - actually met my husband through online. My dad started dating a few years after my mum died and said we should do it together so we both signed up! We got together July 2013, and have been TTC since our wedding in August. However I only got my periods back in October/November after some weight loss!

🤞🏻 Mrsj

marie I met my DH in 2010, and we got engaged in 2015 and married late last year. We originally planned for by the end of the year but excitement got hold of us and we decided to just go for it! I spent most of the time worrying it would take me forever and a day to get back to normal after getting off the pill in Dec Smile

mrsjkerry · 16/02/2017 14:09

We have DTD twice a day everyday this week. Am now wondering whether we might have been better off just once a day to increase sperm count...but oh well! Fingers crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

You never know MistyBxx, tonight could be the night! Don't get downhearted by the could be/would be.. you'll only end up stressing yourself out! Fx for you tonight (is that weird 😂)

And mrsjkerry I haven't done any OPKs myself to knoe much about it but I'd say that's a V.strong line!! Go for it!

Can I ask about everyones situation? How did you guys meet your OH? How long have you guys been together? How long have you been TTC? (Sorry the original thread is wayyy too long to go back through)!

I met my OH at uni in 2010, got together in 2011 so coming up to 6 years now. We live together and got engaged at Christmas. This is our C1... Start the year as we mean to go on!! Smile

ttcnovice · 16/02/2017 13:28

Definitely positive today mrsj

mrsjkerry · 16/02/2017 12:59

Hi all
I'd say this was ovulation day according to the increasing strength of the line. What do you think?

Oh misty hugs. it's hard isn't it? I honestly had no reason to think TTC was involved as it is, you spend most of your adult life avoiding getting PG! Have you tried being a bit more spontaneous? Fresh out the shower or watching TV, something so it doesn't feel so forced? Perhaps build him up with some flirty texts too. You got this girl! You should be good if you can DTD tonight I imagine x

MistyBxx · 16/02/2017 10:49

Thank you chick. I did make him a yummy dinner last night but he went into a bit of a food coma after it lol and I thought then oh maybe that wasn't such a good idea 😂
I defo think he needs to get his head out of the stress though, it will be ok after next month once he's in his new job and in a routine and everything, and the money is double what he's on now so I know he will be in a better place mentally, I just really wanted this to be our month because we are having a break in March anyway (not from dtd at all lol just from testing, charting etc coz I don't want a Christmas baby haha) so I just wanted to go for it this month and then have a break next month (if bfn) but know that we had tried our best in Feb. But I don't feel like we've tried our best and now it feels like my little egg is having an unobstructed journey to its demise with no lil tadpoles to stop it 😩
Pfffff I'm driving myself mad lol x

Marie90 · 16/02/2017 10:35

Oh MistyBxx it's horrible when they say no. It sounds like he's going through a really tough time atm, and stress isnt going to help him feel in the mood to DTD. Have you thought about asking him for a date evening under the idea of letting him have an evening with no stress? Maybe suggest a meal out or movie, or cook him a romantic meal... He may feel more in the mood if he's had his mind taken off work? You can then pounce 😉

It's so frustrating that there's only a small window where DTD could end up in a BFP..... Maybe we should all book a week off during our FW and just stay in bed all week!!

I hope you have a better evening with him tonight! X

MistyBxx · 16/02/2017 10:29

Ohhhh and to make things worse, I think I'm ovulating today 😩 I'm cd15 and although the ewcm has stopped, today I'm getting distinct discomfort very very low down in my tum, not even my tum really, in the area above my foof and way below my belly button. My opk last night was negative (2 lines were there but 1 was much paler than the other, a definite squinter!) and now I'm gutted because IF I'm ovulating today, had we dtd last night, there would be lovely fresh swimmers there waiting to jump all over the egg as it pops out. But we didn't so there's not.
Have I missed the bus?
If I was to dtd tonight, would I still be in with a chance? I'm feeling really miserable now. And what if he's not up for it again tonight? I mean, I kind of pushed him into it the other night and it was hard work lol and then at the end, it didn't "finish" properly if you know what I mean... there was no sign of anything up there, despite his protestations 😂 so the last time we dtd 'productively' was Sunday, well, Saturday night. I have a feeling any swimmers deposited then will be long gone by now.
Bloody hell 😡

MistyBxx · 16/02/2017 09:32

Well I'm feeling really down this morning girls! I'm pulling all my best (sleepiest) moves and he's just not feeling it 😩 he's having a mega bad time in work at the mo, in the middle of changing jobs and he's really stressed, so I don't wanna be like "sex now please!" But he gets into bed and either immediately falls asleep or like last night was like "babe honest I'm just too tired" and I feel like crying!! I try and cheer him up and we have never had any issues in this department, and haven't now, it's just timing but I'm annoyed coz I can't force him obviously lol but I feel really rejected and frustrated because I'm right in the middle of fw. Today is meant to be ov day according to Clue but I still had a negative opk last night. It's the 1st day of fw according to Ovia. But we have only dtd twice since Clue fw started and only one of those times he released the swimmers, the second time, he said he did but I didn't feel anything and nothing came out the next day. I feel like this month is a lost cause already. And the worst thing is, next week he will probably be horny as hell lol he's always pouncing on me either in my 2ww or just after af.
Does anyone know if there's a hormonal reason for this? I admit I'm looking for excuses here lol but is there some biological reason why he seems to be most up for it before and after my af?
wouldn't it make sense for men to pick up on our hormones around ov time?
I'm really pissed off today lol x

Marie90 · 16/02/2017 09:08

Oooops! I definitely didn't keep up with all this last night (may have been DTD so sorry not sorry)! Grin

Mrsjkerry I hope everything is ok with you and your oh this morning! It's so true that even after years together, we women still need reassurance that the love is there. I'm exactly the same. Me and my oh had a bit of a tiff (me just not talking to him after then whole valentine's evening flop) and I found it really hard to bite my tongue so that we we're not arguing yesterday, so we could DTD. I'll be back to telling him off as soon as I'm out of my FW and onto the tww!!

Tuxie11 MistyBxx
I think that clue will probably be more accurate for me than ovia as I've been using it for so long... I got ovia too though just to make sure!
On clue it says my FW was sun-Fri and on ovia it's Tues-sun so they are a bit out but I think as long as we're DTD a lot between last Sunday and this one coming then hopefully I'll catch my O day somewhere in the middle!

FX for us all and have a great day ladies! 😘

tuxie11 · 16/02/2017 08:23

misty I found that too with the apps as I had clue as well (so easy to obsess straight away right?!) clue was the same as glow - I think they started a day earlier so we managed to cover all bases from the Sunday to the Saturday 😂 I think it caught my O day as the 9th which seemed pretty accurate but 🤞🏻 We shall see!

I can't say I like Ovia but I saw many people talking so I've kinda stuck it out - tho I've heard it chops and changes too. I'd be tempted to start OPKs but one step at a time I think Smile

mrsj I second you are the DTD queen! DH & I did once high five because we were so exhausted but chuffed we made it. The things you do TTC!Grin

MistyBxx · 15/02/2017 23:53

You are the dtd queen 😂😂😂
Bless you, men just don't 'get' that we need reassurance like loads of the time!
Have a good night.... 😉
And wake up feeling better in the morning chick.
I'm off to bed now leaving hubs playing the Xbox.
Will update tomoz if I manage to pounce on him when he comes up in a bit lol.

How mad is this site though? Literally wishing eachother good luck for having sex 🙈😂 we girls are a bit crazy I'm sure!!

Night all x

mrsjkerry · 15/02/2017 23:09

We will have been together four years this summer. And to be fair it's my own insecurity that causes the arguments. What if scenarios designed to test how much he loves me etc. I always want reassurance that he's happy with me and wants to be with me and he gets fed up repeating the same stuff I guess.

Anyway, never lasts long. We are now in bed eating chocolate having DTD second time today 👍🏻👌🏻

OP posts:
MistyBxx · 15/02/2017 22:35

Tuxie I use Clue app which I find really accurate and Ovia which is more detailed but seems less accurate.
I've been given 2 overlapping fw, Clue started Sunday and ends Friday, Ovia starts tomoz and ends Tuesday! Only dtd twice since Sunday so need to shape up!
I do opk as well and have been testing daily since cd7, I'm now on cd14 and tests are still negative.
So easy to get obsessed!!x

MistyBxx · 15/02/2017 22:32

I feel you mrsjkerry 🙌🏼 shit when you have nights like that, hubs and I are rather fiery and we don't go a week without a blowout lol but we've been together on and off for 12 years (married 5 months lol) so the love is there, but the fights can be horrific. We've been ok so far this week, I try not to let anything get to me during fw if I can help it (but like I'm always right so it's hard lol)
Try not to let it get to you and don't dwell, and never go to sleep on a fight. Easier said than done I know.
Well I made hubs a stunning tea tonight (and he's a professional chef so impressing him is hard!) he loved it and we are having a chilled night. Hoping to dtd again tonight but we will see, I will be off to bed in an hour and he won't come up for another hour after that so it's the flip of a coin if I will be conscious enough hahahaha 😂
