Hello there

Is there anyone else on here trying for their first baby around the same age as me? 25/26? Would love to talk to someone about it as I am currently driving my husband mad with all the TTC chat!

Merry Christmas to all, my gift to everyone is baby dust. I'm headed towards ovulation according to Ovia & symptoms so my husband thinks all his christmases have come at once with my new found spontaneity 😂😂

ttcnovice · 24/12/2016 19:03

Merry Christmas all Xmas Smile hope you all have a lovely time, and Fx that Santa has some baby dust for us all in his sleigh!

Hello London. I was surprised also- threw myself into it first two cycles. Worked out when my alleged fertile period was, dtd lots around then and thought I would be pregnant just as simple as that. You spend your life thinking if you have sex once without protection it's the end of the world and you'll end up pregnant when in reality it's much much harder than that!! Fingers crossed for you on this next cycle.

Hello, I'm going to join you guys...
Age 26
Cycle 2
Cycle day 25

Was quite shocked when I didn't get pregnant on first cycle - I hadn't realised how tricky it was! We aren't using OKPs or anything at this stage, just doing it when we fancy it and seeing what happens!

mrsjkerry · 24/12/2016 09:01

Can't be sure if these stomach cramps are anything to pay attention to or if it's just all the food I've eaten last few days....!

Amz26 · 23/12/2016 13:34

Yeah I think that's the case mrsj I think I ovulated about the 15th 🤔 Can't be sure tho haha.. It's so all so confusing x

mrsjkerry · 23/12/2016 09:46

Maybe you had already ovulated then amz!? We dtd twice already this morning so hopefully...!

Amz26 · 23/12/2016 09:40

well for me the only thing that has happened is, I got an almost positive on Friday with a OPK but it wasn't that dark! I tested for a few days after and it was just getting lighter and lighter and now there's no line at all since Wednesday.. So I guess I'm in the 2ww. I'm not sure if that helps you out at all mrsj X

Twistedsister7 · 23/12/2016 08:11

After you ovulate you will start to see it fade again I think, don't think it just disappears xx

mrsjkerry · 22/12/2016 23:23

Will it show positive if you've already ovulated?

OP posts:
Twistedsister7 · 22/12/2016 23:10

Oh dear. Well I've been told that with a positive opk you have 12-36 hours until you ovulate so fx. Feed the hangover, do the sympathy then pounce!! Good luck x

mrsjkerry · 22/12/2016 22:49

Yes. Yes he is! He definitely has not stopped drinking in this effort to TTC!

OP posts:
Twistedsister7 · 22/12/2016 22:33

Is he going to be too drunk to pounce on?? Wink

mrsjkerry · 22/12/2016 22:19

Yes I just wish my husband wasn't out at his work Christmas party! Fingers crossed that tomorrow isn't too late to dtd...

Amz26 · 22/12/2016 21:44

Looks like a positive to me too! Glad to hear you've managed to get a positive this month X

Twistedsister7 · 22/12/2016 21:42

Mrsj that looks very positive to me - yay.

mrsjkerry · 22/12/2016 21:07

Fourth month trying. Am yet to pick up a positive OPK. But...?? Is this positive??

Great to hear your GP being so reassuring and sending you for bloods straight away claire - let's hope you get some answers equally as fast!

Sorry twisted no advice on that from me either, but I think you're right in taking a step away from OPKs if they were stressing you out too much. I know there's probably no scientific basis for it but I do believe being as relaxed as possible about things might help TTC... just need to listen to my own advice now Grin.

Amz26 · 21/12/2016 12:30

That sounds like your Gp is really good and seems to want to help you out! I've heard a few bad stories of GP's not doing a thing until after a year! Fx your bloods come back quick X

Twisted- sorry can't give you much advice about this.. It's the unknown that's The frustrating thing X

Twistedsister7 · 21/12/2016 12:20

Claire - sorry to hear of your struggles but glad you have a good gp.

I decided that what I thought was spotting back in min-November was actually af. I thought it was way too light to be af but same again this month. Both on time to be af & fitted in with Ovia estimates.

Before bc, and whilst on pill, my af was heavy & long. Switched to implant which stopped period for 2/3 years but always bled last year of implant. Since taking out implant I expected heavy & long but am getting light & short. Trust me I'm not complaining but has anyone else experienced anything like it?

Based on my recalculations I'm still considering myself on cycle 2 as it is the 2nd full cycle. A few days away from fw now. I've decided not to use OPKs this cycle as I got too obsessed. Going to try & listen to my body to figure it out at least for this month.

How is everyone?? X

88claire · 21/12/2016 09:59

Whoops! Typed send too soon! The GP was reassuring and has sent me for all sorts of bloods including LH which I'm having now. She said she will refer me back to see an endocrinologist and if nothing after 6 months a fertility specialist.

I'm feeling much happier now as I'm in the system and there's a plan if nothing happens.

Phew! Smile

88claire · 21/12/2016 09:56

Thanks ladies, the GP was reassiri

Amz26 · 21/12/2016 09:47

Sounds confusing claire glad you have a doctors appointment today, let us know how you get on! I'm on my first cycle too and I can't seem to get a positive OPK!!! I think after coming off birth control our bodies do crazy things 😁

So I think I'm in the 2ww as I'm no longer getting any lines on the OPK.. I strongest line I got was on Friday so I'm guessing I've just missed the surge 🙈 or I haven't ovulated!! Leading up to the strongest line on the OPK on Friday I was really bloated with sore nipples and egg white cm, sorry tmi! But now I'm just getting little cramps and my backaches which is a sign of AF for me 😩 I've been also feeling nauseous in the evenings so I am really confused about what's going on with my body at the moment.

How's everyone else doing? X

bluebell17 · 21/12/2016 09:35

Sorry to hear you're having a rough time Claire.

If it makes you feel any better then I'm a bit all over the place too.

Fx for a more positive new year.

88claire · 21/12/2016 08:21

BFN again! I didn't even bother with a better test than the cheapie as I've given up a bit now. But my OPK is ridiculously dark... I did what they tell you not to do and read online that continuously high LH can be due to premature ovarian failure! Thank goodness I'm seeing a doctor today.

So I'm on cycle day 37, apparently ovulating all the time with no sign of AF and lots of negative HCG tests. I can't help thinking it's all a bit hopeless! (I know it's cycle one and I'm being silly where there's people who have been trying for years).

Two cousins have got newborns at the moment and I'm really jealous! After today's doctor visit I'm gonna try to put it out of my mind and enjoy Christmas Smile
