Misty that's hilarious I know exactly what you mean though! I think people mean well like you said, but they don't stop and think first. At least you know that the mythical Deborah and Susan will be the first you'll tell when you get your BFP .

I tell people I miss wedding planning and miss my busy florist, fittings, venue meetings etc, and all I get is "well it's been 5 months now, you should be keeping busy making babies!!" And I'm like oh really?! Thanks I hadn't thought of that! 🤓 please Deborah, keep telling me I should be sh**ging like a rabbit, I love hearing that of someone I barely consider a colleague 😂😂😂
lol that's a little harsh, they do mean well, but when all you want is to have a baby, it gets a little too much! Like how would they feel if you said "well actually, we are having sex every other night and I'm trying to lie there and leave the sperm up there for as long as possible and do you know what Susan, it's just not happening, do you have any more amazing advice??" They'd be mortified! It's really quite personal to ask although I know people just love baby news, but don't let it get to you.
All the girls in my office know I'm off the pill but they just think I'm seeing what happens, they don't know I'm flat out ttc or doing tests and everything haaa xx

It must have been good to have the support of someone who's been through similar claire. I bet it was easier talking to your friend than others who hadn't experienced it themselves.

We haven't told anyone we're TTC - I just don't want the pressure of people asking if we're pregnant yet. Although saying that everyone already does anyway (especially our DMs!) - it seems as soon as you get married people are counting down the days until you announce a pregnancy! I don't really mind at the moment, but I think if it takes much longer to conceive I may start to resent it 😬.

So I just caved and ordered 20 clearblue ovulation sticks from amazon. Due to arrive tomorrow.

I will use the cheapies and then clearblue to back them up!

That's the plan anyways....

Tfortaylor - I am in a similar position, only got married in July 2016 and we agreed we would wait a few years before babies. (I'm 27, he's 30) But I have wanted to have a baby for years, and after we got married the urge got even stronger! I decided recently I was sick of waiting for the "perfect" time. Life is too short. So I asked my husband and he has agreed to start trying now which has made me so happy! Even he is excited now, I think men need prompting sometimes you need to listen to your instincts. There will never be a "perfect time" because there will always be something else you think you should do first.

We haven't decided yet but there's a really nice Italian round the corner which we might give a go.

Fortunately I don't have any pregnant friends and the only one who has children had 4 miscarriages (but two healthy children)... So she was a real support when I had mine. That's good of you supporting your friend, I'm sure she appreciates it. Does she know you are trying?

I'm wary of OPK'S as last cycle they seemed positive for ages. Might splurge on clearblue next cycle!

Only update from me is that I woke up feeling sick this morning. Had the cursory fleeting thought of "maybe?" but then got a hold of myself seen as though I'm only 2DPO . I'm off shopping after work with a close friend who's 30 weeks pregnant as she wants to make a start on her hospital bag. While I'm looking forward to catching up with her, I know I'm going to be a bit jealous while she's buying lots of lovely baby things!

Thank you Misty and ttcnovice. I think one delay will be the depo could stay in my system for up to a year so that could be a deciding factor for me. I may manage my broodiness by watching the rest of your progress with eagerness and like you say, if it happens it happens!

Thanks Misty I'll have to give the cream a go. I did try it years ago but found it too time consuming - I guess it's worth it to avoid the pain of another ingrown hair incident though!

Hi T4taylor welcome! I'm probably not much help as we followed the so-called "sensible" route of starting our careers, buying a house, getting married, and only then started to TTC. But do you know what, life's too short! I'm a strong believer in if you're ready for something then you'll make it work somehow. And what better motivation to make things work than a gorgeous squishy newborn . Best of luck whatever you do decide!

Hi Taylor! I got married sept 16 and thought the same as you, not so much about work (I'm pretty stable and 9-5 so no issues there) but we live in rented and would have liked a house first but are nowhere near that stage and won't be for 5+ years.
I'm 32 and have lots of pg friends, and friends on their 2nd or 3rd baby!
I also watched my sister go through 3 Mc (she was 37-38, went on to have healthy ds naturally but 3 weeks early aged 39) and have seen 2 friends aged 35 go through ivf resulting in babies, and one of my best friends now just being referred for ivf age 32.
Also lots of other friends struggling for so long to conceive. But then I have a friend now who's pg with no boyfriend/hubby (one night stand) and she's 32 in rented flat working part time lol and lots of friends who try for one cycle and literally have decided when to have babies and it's happened immediately!
For me personally, I don't want to wait another second, regardless of my rubbish housing situation and we are by no means well off, we struggle enough with just 2 of us. But we will manage because we have to :) moral of the story, it's entirely your decision, you may start trying now hoping it will take a while and catch immediately. Or you may give it a year and then struggle and wish you'd tried earlier. Or you may start now ttc, buy your house, pass your degree and fall pg like clockwork lol.
Whichever way you decide to go, let it be your decision and don't take judgement or negativity off anyone, it's your life chick.
But I'd speak to the docs anyway to at least get an idea about perhaps how long your system would need to clear from your contraception (but again, I know people who have come off injection/pill and caught immediately!)

Ok so I'm trying not to symptom spot so I think I'm being paranoid but this past week or so I've been having the most bizarre dreams. I can remember one completely not so much the other 2, however do remember them being equally weird. I've always dreamed a lot and my dreams are always a bit strange but I can usually control them to a certain extent and change it if I don't like what's happening the last 3 know have been exceptionally weird, even for me... do I sound crazy yet? Please someone tell me it's my overactive imagination! AF is due some time in the next few days I think x

Hi ladies, I hope you don't mind but my post is a little different from the usual. I'm 29 and got married in July 2016. Up until that point I'd been on the Depo injection for a couple of years perfectly happy with no intentions for babies. Since being married, creeping closer to 30 and my best friend expecting, my body clock has started going mental and TTC is all I can think about!
My last depo ran out two weeks ago and I've now switched to the mini pill, however having babies wasn't really on our agenda yet. We rent a small 2 bed terrace with no storage and we're planning to save our deposit to buy this year. Also in September I started a job as a lecturer and I am expected to complete my masters as part of this (which will take 1 year). I know that saving for the house and getting more established in my job is the sensible thing to do but my body says otherwise! What do I do and how did you make the decision that it was the right time to start trying?

Thanks Misty. I'm in the same position I just don't know when it's gonna happen so testing every day! My cycles were awful before the MC so I'm very much in the dark!

You have to be careful though coz even a line doesn't mean it's positive or even near positive coz we have LH in our systems every day of our cycle. If I don't have a bfp this cycle, I'm going to do some stick tests every day for a week straight after af just for an experiment to see what the lines look like when I KNOW I defo shouldn't be ovulating (or I could do it next week which is the week before af is due) because this is what has thrown me this month, I've been seeing what I thought are positive or nearly positive lines around the time my apps say I'm ovulating but only one day last week both the lines were very dark and identical in colour which is a definite positive! So although I'm in the 2ww now, I don't know if I actually dtd near the right time or not 😳

Very almost positive? What do you think ladies? These lighter control lines are playing mind games with me!

I know I hate the gross feeling. I have a menstrual cup which I use overnight to keep clean. I'm sure it doesn't do much but I feel like it's giving the swimmers some extra help!

And I regularly get ingrown hairs down there, mostly after I've used veet spray on hair remover... when I used to use the cream, even though it was messy and gross, I never used to get them but since I've been using the spray on foam stuff, I get one every time! And they're so painful, I had to have antibiotics last time coz it got infected!
Gonna go back to the cream I think.x

I was like that MrsKerry! Couldn't bear feeling like that down there! But now I just shove a pillow under my butt and grit my teeth, and have the BEST shower in the morning lol.
I also wear these carefree panty liners every day, they're not for periods, just to keep you fresh every day in general so they help when I'm lying there feeling yuck 🙈

That's hilarious claire your budgie certainly had perfect comedic timing with that one! Something to tell the DC when they're older ("so about the time you were conceived...") haha!

I'm in a bit of a bad mood tonight actually so that's just cheered me up. Possibly TMI (if there's such a thing on this thread!) but I've had an ingrown hair down below that has decided to form a really painful blister over it - I think caused by my underwear rubbing on the inflamed bit of skin. So that's no DTD for us tonight was hoping to fit in one more try as I ovulated today, but there's no chance now. We DTD twice every day in the three days leading up, and then once at about 4am this morning (DH is on call from
home hence the strange time!) so I'm just hoping we've done enough to catch it. Into the tww now trying to be positive!
