Hello there

Is there anyone else on here trying for their first baby around the same age as me? 25/26? Would love to talk to someone about it as I am currently driving my husband mad with all the TTC chat!

Hello Ladies,

Just an update... I'm not getting my hopes up but I believe I've got a BFP.

I knew there was something on the cheapies yesterday but it was negative this morning. What's confusing me is that there wasn't an hint of a line on the FRER yesterday.

Anyway.... I'll do another FRER and clearblue tomorrow.

Maybe what they say about increased fertility after a miscarriage is real. Just hoping this is a sticky one!!

Happy valentines everyone!

Hi,
Hope I'm ok to join!
I'm 26 and we've just started this month TTC for our first!
If I've calculated right I should be ovulating around now (valentine's day..how convenient) Wink

Not looking forward to the tww but fingers crossed!

mrsjkerry · 14/02/2017 14:26

Cute Claire! My husband also had roses delivered to the house which was nice. Don't worry about your BFN. I'd wait till AF is actually due...and if it comes then think of it as the first day of a new cycle!

So I stayed up late to watch the Exorcist (as I've never seen it) last night and OH was on a night shift. I genuinely slept with the light on! What a horrible film!!

Other news still BFN on the cheapies today, decided they're a dodgy batch cos they've all given squinters. Nevermind. OH came home with champagne and roses Smile

mrsjkerry · 14/02/2017 10:14

Oh misty that does sound stressful. I'd hate it if my husband worked long hours. Fortunately for me he took the day off yesterday to spend together and is in the process of moving jobs anyway so has a bit of downtime before he really needs to get his head down and focus seriously on work again.

It's half term for me 🎉

MistyBxx · 14/02/2017 10:01

Yeah but he's one of those mid-30's manchildren lol he freaked out when I told him before, he knows the rough plan but just said let's get on with it, he stresses easily (poor dab lol as if I don't!) but I need his full cooperation and I think I mentioned before, he's got a 15 hour a day on his feet busy job and is under a lot of pressure and I really don't wanna add to it. I just hoped he wouldn't be able to resist my advances hahaaa 😂 but he's got a short memory and sleep was more important this morning 😩
But just been to loo and ewcm still very visible so fingers crossed all is not lost! See what my opk says this evening but it's Valentine's Day so I'm hoping to seduce him when he gets home from work (about half 9 tonight lol) jeeeeez I thought this would be the easy bit 🙈

mrsjkerry · 14/02/2017 09:48

Maybe share with him the plan...! My husband has told me not to do any OPKs this month, but I may do one today anyway. I told him he has to wake me up every morning to DTD before work. So far he has complied 😄

I'd like to DTD again this evening, but we are going into London and probably won't be back until late.

MistyBxx · 14/02/2017 08:21

Ffs 😩😩😩
Hubs came to bed, I heard him come in, gave him the nudgey bum and then.... I was outers! Woke up super early this morning and tried getting into it and he rolled over and was like oh I'm knackered babe... this is the cons when it comes to not telling him about my babymaking plans 😂 it takes the pressure off him but then he's not always up for it when it's important! Arghhh! No ewcm this morning so will opk again this afternoon and just hope I haven't missed it 🙈

MistyBxx · 13/02/2017 23:51

I've read that too... but surely the acidity would stay in the lower vag... and the swimmers would be sucked further up...? Pure guess. I know nothing about what's up inside my own 😂 surely our bodies evolved to make O's pleasurable to encourage us to reproduce so wouldn't make sense if the result of this would make a hostile environment... but then these are the same clever bodies which throw implantation bleeding at us around the same time we are due af and also make pg symptoms hard to distinguish against af and also only make it incredibly difficult to know when our egg has popped ready to go, and also make some wombs more tilted just to make things difficult and I could go on and on 😂 so I'd be inclined to say if it feels good, hi 5, if you don't reach the summit, who cares lol x

mrsjkerry · 13/02/2017 23:44

Trust me - this is the first month we have been so active!!

I always do it after he has. I read too about the upsuck. But I also read that it can cause you to become acidic and not pleasant environment for the sperm!?!

OP posts:
MistyBxx · 13/02/2017 23:26

Wow you are so active, I feel rather insufficient lol 😂 I'm so tired though haha hubs stays up later than me though so i have to wake myself up when he gets to bed and do the cheeky bum nudge and hope he takes the bait before I drift off again hahaha it's a drama!
I've asked this Q before, coz sometimes, I don't and he does, which is fine, but I do worry then coz I've heard the lil contractions up there when the big O arrives for a lady actually helps suck the swimmers up to where they're meant to be! But you have to O exactly the same time as your partner or just after... so I've heard!

mrsjkerry · 13/02/2017 23:11

Maybe I will just stick to my omega 3 and leave the conception ones for now. No harm in being natural I suppose.

Have DTD twice again today 😄 Husband has told me he's "in heaven". Just wondered...does anyone know anything about female orgasm and how it helps (or hinders) TTC??

OP posts:
MistyBxx · 13/02/2017 23:05

I take folic acid and multi macca but was defo swayed by all the positive google reviews, they defo seem to help lots of people but I was one of the unlucky ones 😩
I've heard lots of good reviews about seven seas though!!

Oh I know, I did make myself chuckle about peeing everywhere. And I am still chuckling about the fact that I'm excited about weird gloopy stuff in my foof. I mean seriously. I would have been bricking it if I found this in my 20s and wondering what the hell it was. Now I'm positively celebrating it 😂😂

Girls we are complex and gross creatures 😂😂😂

ttcnovice · 13/02/2017 22:30

I've been taking pre-pregnancy ones by Centrum and have had no ill effects on those! I know other people just take individual folic acid tablets though so maybe give them a go?

mrsjkerry · 13/02/2017 21:20

Omg misty I just googled it too and it's mixed. Some saying they really mess up your cycle and others saying they're sure that's what got them their BFP. I take omega 3 anyway, so perhaps will stop taking them...

Thanks *Misty

You have made me feel lots better Smile. I will definitely try to wait now. (Absolutely no expensive tests anyway!)

Funny you mention the conception tablets, superdrugs own made me feel sick. Which my GP said isn't possible so I'm trying seven seas when the superdrug ones run out (too stingy to throw them out, nausea or not!)

Yay for the EWCM. I find it hilarious what we get excited about 😂 and the squatting on the table image.... 😂😂😂

MistyBxx · 13/02/2017 20:52

Hey girlies! Omg so excited about the squinters! Sometimes cheapies know best! defo wait til your either late for af or at least in double figures/teens of dpo! Says me who pees on everything immediately lol.
Tests that is. Not literally everything. Think hubs would have something to say about me squatting on the coffee table 😂

Beware with pregnacare conception... my cycles have always been 28 days, took one weeks worth and didn't come on when I was meant to, only thing different was the tablets, then I googled them 😩 only took a week's worth and my cycle went from 28 to 39 days! I chucked the rest lol. There's absolutely nothing in the ingredients which contains anything hormonal that SHOULD affect the length of the cycle... but it certainly did with me!

some definite ewcm today! Literally quite about if it! Sorry tmi. Negative opk though! Gonna dtd lots anyway 😂

88claire · 13/02/2017 20:20

Mrsjkerry

No period yet. I was supposed to wait until my first AF came but couldn't help myself! Ok well if I count ovulation as the day after the positive OPK I'm 8dpo. My cycles are horrendous (between 27 and 58 days) so I can only really go from ovulation dates. I've also had brown spotting for the last 4 days so I think my hormones are out of whack.

Will see this cycle as a test run ready for next month where I'll know more.

mrsjkerry · 13/02/2017 20:11

Claire the ovulation test just tells you that you should be ovulating within 24 hours usually. If you ovulated and the egg wasn't fertilised then normally AF comes 12-16 days later I think. Have you had a normal period yet? It's probably better to count from the first day of your last period if you know on average how long your cycle usually is or used to be.

Ah glad to hear your DH cousin had some good news after a year... But I always get pangs of jealousy regardless of who it is! I've heard so many stories of people getting lucky after long periods of time. I was lucky enough to conceive first time but ended in miscarriage. I'm not sure what's worse waiting ages for a BFP or having one straight away and having it taken away. I know I CAN conceive though so that's something! Good luck for your FW and more importantly enjoy it!! And Oh my god the stark whiteness of those negative FRER Is awful!

I estimate AF is due between the 17th and 19th (this is the first cycle tracking ovulation so I'm not entirely sure. Is it two weeks post positive ovulation test or the day after? I'm a bit new to tracking and my first BFP was a complete fluke! I'm going to hold off now. I can't bare peeing on £5 tests and not seeing a line!

Sorry to hear about your anxiety. I think I get a bit obsessed over certain things but not anxious.. Yet. Have you got any techniques to help?

I've heard good things about conception lubricants... Let us know what you think!

mrsjkerry · 13/02/2017 19:40

Claire - when is AF due for you? Hold off until then if you can! Hoping you get your BFP this month!

I have DTD again today. Covering all bases. I've also started taking the pregnacare conception vitamins. Anyone else? And I bought some of the 'Conceive Plus' lubricant because I read that normal lube can cause a barrier to sperm. Anyone else tried this too?

My anxiety levels have been through the roof today. That won't help I know, but I can't help obsessing. I'm sure I have a form of OCD where you imagine the worst scenarios that can happen and try to come up with solutions to them...

OP posts:
ttcnovice · 13/02/2017 18:42

You're definitely not out yet claire I've read very mixed reviews of FRERs! Very early days yet so try and stay hopeful Flowers it's horrible seeing the glaring whiteness of a BFN though isn't it!

I'm good - thanks for asking Smile just waiting for my FW to start on Wednesday to get going again! DH's cousin dropped a baby bomb today, but to be fair I'm actually really happy for them as they've been trying for nearly a year now (only told us that along with the happy news). Gives me some renewed hope for us all anyway Smile.

88claire · 13/02/2017 18:00

TTC

BFN today so saving the better tests for when I've missed AF. The cheapies keep giving me squinters but the FRER was definitely negative Sad. Only 8/9 dpo so there's still time.

How are you doing?

ttcnovice · 13/02/2017 15:05

Exciting claire Smile keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you until tomorrow 🤞🏼
