Help! Possible BFP then BFN??

Hi everyone, I took a first response test yesterday afternoon and I was convinced I could see a line but it was so so faint! So I took another test this morning and was convinced I could see a line. I showed my friend and she was sure it was a positive (picture below). I wasn't convinced so I took another test (clear blue) when I got home it said not pregnant. AF not due until Thursday so I know I'm testing early but advice please?? I'm confused Confused was the first one not a positive? Can anyone else see a line? It's not as clear in the photo x

AF has arrived this morning Sad I'm not sure what that first test was all along...must have been false some how? Maybe an evap line? Oh well Smile I'm not too disappointed...just glad I have an answer at last. Thank you lovely ladies for the support! Xx

Ahh really? I'm not sure that I am pregnant though. The first test seemed so clear and then when I did another First Response test it was much fainter than the first? Now have light bleeding so I'm not sure what to think! X

Clear blue are crap. I would not recommend. With my second pregnancy I was so worried because I was 3/4 weeks pregnant and the clear blue said 1-2 weeks. Unnecessary worry.

Mouselove I decided to follow you're advice and wait a little while before retesting. I now have very very light bleeding which can only be seen when I go for a wee and only on the tissue. Now need to wait and see if this develops into abnormal period for me. This is very unlike my body and I'm very impatient lol. It's so hard. I will keep you all updated but for the meantime I just wanted to say thanks for the support so far! X

Honestly I think at this stage you should have a break, take a week and then re-test. Good luck.

Yeah used a first response test. Took one the night before and there was a very faint line. Then took another this morning and NOTHING! Any advice? X

Thanks for the support everyone! Told the OH tonight about the confusion. I'm due AF tomorrow and normally run like clockwork so will have to wait and see. I'm thinking it was an Evap line as I'm now feeling absolutely fine - no symptoms whatsoever apart from still feeling a little bloated so I'm fully expecting AF Blush x

I had lines like that appear on FRER when cracked open...pink evaps Confused Try another FRER but keep it in the case this time. Fingers crossed for you.

missklouise - when a test is taken apart (as for taking a photo), it increases the likelihood of an evaporation line, so can't comment on the photos you have posted. But for the early days of pregnancy the hcg levels are so low, that it all depends on the concentration of the urine, the sensitivity of the test including the amount of dye in the individual test.

So it is easy in the very early days to get positives alternating with negatives. I hope you get a clear answer in the next few days.
