Writer I remember when my friend phoned me to tell me she was pregnant. I felt so angry and upset. I wanted to tell her that she didn't deserve it and it should have been me. I congratulated her and got off the phone ASAP. The thing is she was dreading telling me. She knew it would hurt me but she didn't want me to find out from someone else. I think your friend could have delivered the news differently. I think until you've been where we are it's hard to understand. Maybe in a day or two you'll be able to pluck up enough courage to reply. Are you the only one in your group struggling to conceive? I think maybe you need help to deal with everything you've been through this year. I don't mean professional help, just speaking to a friend who can empathise. It's really not easy being surrounded by people who don't get it.

MouseLove · 08/10/2016 14:12

Sorry my reply should have said "send her a text back and let her know how you're feeling" she might have been so blinded with happiness that she didn't stop to think about your feelings. A very difficult situation. Xxx CakeChocolateFlowers

Foxglove88 · 08/10/2016 14:00

writer How insensitive!!! I'm angry on your behalf. If I were in your shoes I wouldn't respond.

Writerwannabe83 · 08/10/2016 13:47

rosebud - I have no idea what I would even say to her. I don't feel happy for her, I just feel upset, jealous and angry. I had to hide myself away for ten minutes so DH wouldn't have know I had been crying.

I think I will just leave it for 24 hours, like you said, I think I need to wait for my initial reaction to wear off before I say anything.

Writerwannabe83 · 08/10/2016 13:45

I just think a bit of sensitivity wouldn't have gone amiss Sad

Writerwannabe83 · 08/10/2016 13:44

rosevalley - she already knows I miscarried earlier this year and I've since had 7 months of BFNs so there isn't anything I can say to her that she isn't already aware of.

To be honest, I'm more upset that despite knowing everything she still sent me a photo of her HPT with its clear second line. If she'd just text me and told me I probably would have handled it better but seeing a large image of a positive pregnancy test has just really upset me.

RoseBud1987 · 08/10/2016 13:41

SoozC, *Lulu's right. You can do it at home and take it in. Had a friend who did it.

Writer don't reply then. If my friend was struggling I would probably be a bit more gentle with my approach to telling her. On the other hand I don't think you'd want to be kept out of the loop either. I think you should hold of on replying until you've had a cry and built your strength up x

MouseLove · 08/10/2016 13:39

Oh writer sending hugs. I know the initial shock is one of sadness for your own situation but I know you feel happy for them. It's just so confusing and conflicting. It's something I've dealt with for a very long time. Send your friend a text back. X

RoseValleyRambles · 08/10/2016 13:14

Jumping on board too! Was planning on staying to try early 2016, but we're not that great at turning plans into reality, so here we are 9 months later! Congrats to those already seeing lines.

Stats:
Age:34
TTC: #1
Cycle:#1
CD: 12
Af due: 23rd

Writer, so sorry to hear you're struggling. Is she the kind of friend you could have an honest chat with?

Writerwannabe83 · 08/10/2016 12:43

My friend has just text me her photo of a very strong BFP. I'm actually sat here crying. I don't even want to respond. I feel so incredibly fucked off!!!! She didn't even want a second baby, then it turned to them using the rhythm method because they'd heard it had good success rates and now she's pregnant. It's just not fair.

MouseLove · 08/10/2016 12:02

Eek new bus! So can threads not go over 1000 posts then?? Seems weird!!

Lulu298 · 08/10/2016 11:01

I seem to remember my oh did his into a pot at home soozc and then dropped it off at hospital. It had to be done and delivered within a certain time period.

SoozC · 08/10/2016 09:52

Rosebud, thanks. Yeah they'll probably be less reliable. But I'm thinking it's a start for him. I know he'd do his best at hospital if he thought it would help us get a baby but I may as well get checked first.

RoseBud1987 · 08/10/2016 09:47

Skee don't apologise for your BFP. Yes, some of us are struggling but it doesn't mean you're less deserving of a baby.

SoozC read that the home kits are less reliable, but if it's the only way DH can 'do it' then it's better than nothing.

Fox I was reading about Vitex last night.

Myusername2015 · 08/10/2016 09:32

Hi can I jump on board; tested yesterday on a tesco and had a superfine line although when I posted the pic here some people could see it! Very nervous now...good luck anyone testing today

SoozC · 08/10/2016 09:20

Do hang around, skee!

I'm 8dpo too, I think. Don't think I'm preggers so trying to focus on bloods next cycle as something positive I'm doing. DP is reluctant to do sperm testing (he'd probably find it hard to finish) so I'm thinking of getting a home kit. Anyone tried these?

Skee · 08/10/2016 09:12

Thanks purple! I'll hop over to the other boards too - all guidance greatly received, and I don't have a clue what I'm doing Confused

Good luck Flowers

Foxglove88 · 08/10/2016 09:04

Hello all! I was on the bus a few months back. My cycles were so irregular that I had a month off and started taking vitex. Long story short, a month later and my temperatures are actually doing what they should and I'm coming up as positive on fertile focus. I would totally recommend trying vitex if you're looking for a solution to a hormone imbalance!
I'm hoping the second half of the month is just as good :)

MotherofUnicorns · 08/10/2016 09:03

Sorry lousy I know exactly how you feel. I'm now apparently ovulating on cd38! I thought it would all be fine after the coil but clearly not. Start the opks again to see where you are. We need to dtg tonight but have guests so not sure if we will miss the chance this month or not....

lousylear · 08/10/2016 08:36

Bfn. Really thought I was pg this month. Have loads of symptoms. Had coil removed 25 July. Obv still messing with my cycle. Last one 38 days. Now on cd39.

PurpleHaze1 · 08/10/2016 08:27

Of course, stay on Skee! Smile Have you seen the antenatal boards as well? I was on one for DD & it was great too but you're more than welcome to hang around here!

8dpo & not much to report. My temps are totally different to last cycle but in some ways they look worse not better so not sure what to think. If my temp goes up tomorrow, I'll be quite hopeful but if it drops I reckon I'll be out. Will see what happens & depending on temps I may test on Monday

Just found the new bus!

Thanks so much everyone for the well wishes. It feels completely undeserved right now, especially with the experiences that so many of you are having. I'm really hoping this is a lucky bus for you ladies Flowers

Hope you don't mind, I'd like to loiter to hear how you get on x x x

RoseBud1987 · 07/10/2016 22:05

Lulu so far I'm not too fussed. It's definitely for the American market. She says that you DH should get his sperm checked before you start TTC. I can't imagine the NHS would happily pay for testing before you've eve tried. Only just started reading though, so not writing it off yet.

Sand it seems to be easy for everyone else. I caught quickly with DD so naively assumed #2 would be the same.

Lulu298 · 07/10/2016 21:54

Yeah totally sandsandwiches - my sex education classes made out that even if you just looked at a guy, you'd end up ladened with a baby!

That book looks good rosebud. Will have to check it out.

Sorry about the baby bombing writer.Flowers

sandsandwiches · 07/10/2016 21:30

Tough this ttc malarkey isn't it.. my rl friends and my sister have all struggled. ivf, miscarriage, many cycles (&a few babies) amongst us so I'm wary of being too excited about starting ttc around them and also part of the nervous/excitement mix. Its such an emotional topic isn't it. Not quite the constant instaduff sex education made it out to be! Hope this is a lucky month for everyone but esp for those further along the journey Flowers
