The October Bus - hoping for lots of BFPs and Summer babies!!

Hi guys, just starting the October bus.

I'm almost 33, have a DS (2.5 years) and am now trying for DC2. I caught pregnant on cycle 1 but unfortunately had an early miscarriage and am now entering cycle 5.

My current situation is that DH has been changing his mind over the last 12 months to wanting to try for another, then not wanting to, then wanting to etc and it's been very difficult. We have now come to the compromise that we can actually try up until next August but if nothing has happened by then we stop TTC.

I'm on CD3 now, I usually ovulate around days 17/18 and have cycles of around 31/32 days.

Good luck to everyone!!! Flowers

Sk1pper - Yeah, makes sense. I'm taking vits and don't drink much anyway (though I think ttc has actually made me drink more...), been trying to exercise more. Anything to help.

I don't think my mum ever had any tests but it's a very long time so you'd think they'd have seen a GP at some point. I know she had very irregular cycles but I've always hoped I'll have more luck as mine are pretty consistently 30-32 days. But there could have been other factors - I'll just have to brace myself for a potentially embarrassing conversation and ask. I know it took my partner's parents several years as well so we should probably chat to them too.

sk1pper · 09/09/2016 14:08

Juv - welcome, yeah I'm in a very similar situation to you. Been trying for just over 13 months now and found out (quite by accident) that it took my mum 18 months to conceive me.

Best thing you can do is make your body a conception temple. Vits, exercise, good diet, don't drink or so drugs, etc etc it just makes it easier when you see a Doctor as they can already see you've done your homework. If that makes sense...

Also, it may not take you as long as your mum. Did your mum divulge if she'd had any tests run?

JuvenileScam · 09/09/2016 12:47

Hey everyone, can I join? New to the forums but would be great to have people to chat to about the TTC process.

About me:
Age - 30
TTC #1
Cycle 6
CD8

The only person I've told is my mum a couple of weeks ago, because last time I went to visit she started talking about various things she could do to help "if I ever had kids" and I figured, welp, never going to get a better opening than that. Her only real response was that it took her 6 and a half year so it was best not to stress about it which I think was designed to be comforting but wasn't really. No plans to tell anyone else, I don't want constant questions about it.

NappingRabbit · 09/09/2016 09:31

We haven't told anyone we're TTC, I don't want the pressure of them wondering whether I'm pregnant yet. When people ask when we will have another I just give a vague answer - I'm not sure yet. Which is true. Who knows how long it will take.

Bobandweave · 09/09/2016 08:39

Sk1pper - wow lucky you having a knowledgable sis! She will be fab during pregnancy and also when baby has arrived. I've told 1 close friend only but I'm glad I did as feel I may crack otherwise!

EJ - I can totally relate to how you feel. This was me earlier in the year too. I soon realised that the more I pushed, the more my dh backed away so in the end I decided to stop the baby talk for a while and just see how things went. Eventually he came round. I know this can be annoying to hear (and annoyed me when people said it) but time is on your side so you do have some time to relax a little and enjoy being together. Completely understand how upsetting it can be to be constantly asked by people when you will have a baby, it gives me the rage too!

sk1pper · 08/09/2016 23:02

Bob - welcome! I've told my sister (she's a nurse who works on a premature baby ward so no brainier), and I cracked and told a couple of friends when I got really low after another failed cycle but they are sworn to secrecy. I'm glad I haven't told anyone else now because I'd hate tying to explain this shit to them.

EJ - welcome also! Sounds like you are getting a little carried away with yourself. You're still young, you need to relax and enjoy the love making with your DH. It will make you closer and stronger as a couple and that's a good foundation for when your little one comes along. Stress can really impact your chances of success too. I know it's easy to get all pent up, everyone on this forum has been there but don't drive a wedge between you and DH, he obviously wants to start off quite casual which can is fine. Sometimes it's enough.

Writer - your DH is a trooper! He seems very committed now after you had that argument about #2 a few weeks ago. Ahhh I hope you get your BFP soon.

EJ1986 · 08/09/2016 20:53

Hi all.

Im 29 (30 next month if im honest)
Ttc #1

Although we are early in the process i have wanted this so much for so long but houses & wedding & life came first and DH wasnt ready. DH agreed to me coming off the pill earlier this year and was going for the 'see how it goes' approach. Im beside myself in wanting this baby, it has taken over my life if im honest, its worse now after all these years it could happen. DH cant deal with how much i want it (he has always been 'would adore his child but would be ok if he didnt have one'). We have been arguing about it and now he's avoiding sex with me. I dont know what to do with myself. I cant see any of my friends with children, i cant bear all of the baby tv ads and i will scream at the top of my lungs at the next person who asks when im having a baby.

Writerwannabe83 · 07/09/2016 23:28

sk1pper - my DH knows how to man up for TTC sex. A few months who he tore one of his abdominal muscles and he was in so much pain but said he still wanted to go ahead. It was the worst sex ever, he was grimacing and stifling noises of pain during the act in the end we actually had to stop because he was crying. He kept saying, "I'm alright, honestly" in between his moments of pain but no amount of desire for a baby could have made me carry on. I appreciated his efforts though Grin

Glad to join you all really as I haven't shared with many people that we will be trying so no one to ask silly questions to! Have you guys told friends/ family that you are ttc?

sk1pper · 07/09/2016 22:51

Ahh it's so nice that you check on him sleeping. I can't wait for all that kinda stuff. Sorry to hear your DH isn't well but he should recover just in time for your fertile window muahahah

Writerwannabe83 · 07/09/2016 22:07

Hello to all the newbies!!

I've not long been in from work sk1pper and am relaxing on my bed and listening to my stomach gurgle as I'm really hungry. DH is poorly and DS is fast asleep - I've just been in to his room to look at him sleeping for a few seconds, just like I do every night.

I'm on CD4 now and my period is starting to tail off. My delivery of OPKS/HPTS from Amazon arrived today so I'm looking forward to cracking on with it!!

Girls you said exactly what I wanted you to say. Tally ho!!

What's everyone up to this eve?

FlashingLights · 07/09/2016 17:11

sk1pper I'd go for it and rearrange the wedding if need be! If you use contraception this month you will kick yourself thinking "that could've been by month". Would the venue charge you to change the date?

NappingRabbit · 07/09/2016 17:06

Sk1pper if it was cycle 1 or 2 I would be tempted to miss a month but on cycle 14 I would keep trying and hope that Sod's law would get me a BFP!

CD6, AF is finished and the countdown is on. I am taking EPO but will up it to 2 a day, thanks for the dosage reminder.

Alibaba2 · 07/09/2016 16:30

Hi Skipper,

I would go for it anyway because these things always happen at the most inconvenient time so Sod's law might work in your favour this time.

If you get pg then having to reorganise will be quite a nice predicament to be in.

Or just half-heartedly try and see what happens?

Being a pg bride will be lovely!

sk1pper · 07/09/2016 16:12

I'm in a bit of a predicament.

I'm getting married on the 26th June next year (yes we're doing everything backwards - but its taken us longer to conceive than expected) and I've worked out that if I get pregnant this cycle my due day will be my wedding day.

Now, I dont know whether to keep trying and reorganise the wedding if it happens (haven't sent out invites yet and only just paid deposit for reception) or use contraception. Part of me doesn't want to miss a whole cycle, but I'm wondering whether I'm a total idiot for thinking that.

My friend thinks I'm crazy wanting to be a pregnant bride but I think, why not? I'm not religious, the ceremony is unreligious. I've been with OH for 9 years so what's the problem. Pregnancy is beautiful anyway.

BindiBarbarella · 07/09/2016 13:55

Hello everyone - Writer I remember you from earlier threads, really sorry to hear about your MC.

I haven't been on the boards for ages but I'm back for some company.

I'm just about to start cycle 14 - have started cramping today so I know it's imminent.

I'm 31, TTC #2 (have a DD, 2) and am FED UP of TTC!

Good luck and baby dust to everyone.

sk1pper · 07/09/2016 13:28

Flashing - I started on them last cycle but didn't notice much of difference. I have realiaed that I can double the dosage I was taking though so that may help. And yes, very important to stop at ovulation but looks like you did your research :)

FlashingLights · 07/09/2016 12:59

lizzie Welcome! We are on the same cycle day - hopefully we'll be testing together and both getting BFP'S! Grin

lousy sounds like perfect timing!

sk1pper sounds like my reaction to them too! Life changing Grin

I've bought some Evening Primrose Oil today. Anyone else taking it and noticed a difference in EWCM? I've picked up the 1000mg tablets so I plan to take 2 a day until ovulation.

sk1pper · 07/09/2016 12:40

Slightly off topic but why have I never used tampons before? They are amazing. Screw you AF, I don't even care that you're here - look at me strutting my stuff :D (had to go for super absorbent tampax because the first 2 days are an absolute mare for me) buuut the plug-it-and-forget approach is working well for me. I know, I know TMI...

lousylear · 07/09/2016 12:23

Off to Greece this aft for a week with dp and no kids. Should be fertile from Sunday so FX for lots of dtd and a bfp in a few weeks would be good! I'll catch up on here next week when I return. FX for some bfps on my return.

Lizziebear15 · 07/09/2016 12:15

Hi can I join please

Age 24
Ttc no 2
Cycle 3 day 1 (cycles have been between 42 and 59)

Just ordered a bunch of ovulation sticks off amazon. Hoping you guys can help me through this craziness of ttc business. With DD I got pregnant on the first go on trying so am new to all this.

FlashingLights · 07/09/2016 09:26

Hopping over from the September bus! AF arrived with a bang - wasn't expecting it so soon (would have been CD 24 today). But it's a month tomorrow since having my implant removed so I guess things are still regulating.

25
Ttc #2
Cycle 2
CD 1

Sending lots of positive BFP wishes!

misstiggiwinkle · 07/09/2016 08:02

Right, I'm hopping on for cycle 10. Hi to everyone (again)!

31
Ttc no 2, DS (19mo)
Cycle 10
Length 27-35 days and can ovulate anywhere from 14-22
History of pcos

For the last 7 cycles we have done everything right and hit ovulation every time but i still get a bfn every month. Interestingly though my cycles have definitely shortened since DS and af is much lighter - used to be heavy for 6 days, now I get a bit of spotting and then only a light flow for a day or two followed by spotting for a day. Started trying to research whether that has something to do with the lack of BFP Hmm.

I use preseed, temp, take vitamins, and now drinking pomegranate juice in a bid to thicken my lining - maybe I'm just not implanting?

Anyway, hopefully this will be the lucky bus!
