Hi guys, just starting the October bus.

I'm almost 33, have a DS (2.5 years) and am now trying for DC2. I caught pregnant on cycle 1 but unfortunately had an early miscarriage and am now entering cycle 5.

My current situation is that DH has been changing his mind over the last 12 months to wanting to try for another, then not wanting to, then wanting to etc and it's been very difficult. We have now come to the compromise that we can actually try up until next August but if nothing has happened by then we stop TTC.

I'm on CD3 now, I usually ovulate around days 17/18 and have cycles of around 31/32 days.

Good luck to everyone!!! Flowers

Lol writer you do make me laugh.

The NHS website told me that I'd put in an invalid date, "the date you have entered is in the future." I'm sat here thinking - yes, and??

Writerwannabe83 · 19/09/2016 12:25

Feels weird checking due dates for a baby I haven't even conceived yet.

Yeah, that's a really weird thing to do....it's not as if I've been on a website to work out I would be expecting on June 13th if I conceived this month.... Blush Grin Grin

Yeah you girls are right, I just need to accept the fact I'm going to loose a cycle. It's a horrible feeling for me but I'm thinking with my heart not my head.

I need to check my potential due date for October cycle too as I think it may be too close after the wedding. I'll check it when I get home, can I run it past you all to see what you think? I'm greatful you are so honest about it.

I have my first one today, Boo! I'm expecting she'll just ask me my history and then hopefully book me in for a scan or something. I'll let you know.

We'll done for pinning him down, Writer! Fx for you this cycle.

MundayCakes85 · 19/09/2016 09:21

God boo and writer, that sounds horrendous. I have no experience to help (I'm the opposite- scanty) it must be hard every month.
Good luck to everyone DTD at the moment, don't take no for an answer!
I'm 4dpo and got everything crossed for this month. I remember how much I hated the ttc shenanigans last time. It become all consuming. I am a temper, have also done opks this month, been using conceive plus a few months, more vitamins this month.
Just want a baby bump already!!

NappingRabbit · 19/09/2016 08:11

Sorry sk1pper, very frustrating. But as writer says it is for logical reasons.

Writerwannabe83 · 19/09/2016 08:00

I'm glad we DTD last night as this is my OPK from this morning. I'm not sure if it's positive yet so I will check again this afternoon and then definitely more DTD tonight.

boo - you have my sympathies. My periods are horrendously heavy! I usually wake up in the morning to find it has arrived and there will be blood everywhere. When I get out of bed and stand up it just pours out of me and I'm not even exaggerating. My periods last about 7 days in total and the first 3 days are just awful, I soak through tampons and sanitary towels within hours, it's unbearable.

When I go to bed at night I actually put a nappy in my underwear so that when I wake up in the morning and first get out of bed it can soak up all the blood - that's how bad it is. I hate it.

The only respite was when I had my Mirena Coil in, it was heaven!!!

sk1pper - is it just this month he wants to put TTC on hold? I know it must be frustrating and upsetting but would you really want to run the risk of having to cancel your wedding? What happened if you went in to labour a few days before? What would happen if you have birth complications and you or baby are ill? What if you had to have a c-section? It's a huge risk to take because if your due date would be on your wedding day then there's a very high chance, for many reasons, that the wedding may not be able to take place.

I know it's disheartening, but it's just one month he's delaying it and for practical reasons.

Last month I was tempted to delay TTC for a month because if I had fallen pregnant it would have meant I wouldn't have been able to go on our already booked family holiday next April - I was worried about a £600 holiday going to waste let alone wasting what your wedding must be costing? Grin

Ah sorry sk1pper. Hopefully he has a change of heart & you can DTD tonight.

Boo - I have no experience but I hope the GP is helpful

sk1pper · 19/09/2016 07:33

My OH is refusing to DTD because of the wedding. It's fair enough but I got really upset about it last night and now he's just giving me a wide birth. So probably out this month as I ovulate tomorrow.

Boo - how long have you been TTC? I won't tell you about my appointment as it was shite, I'm going back in the new year and trying with a different doctor. My advice, is to add 6 months on to he length of time you've been TTC.

Booboomoogooboo · 19/09/2016 06:44

Up early as can't sleep. AF really heavy yesterday and overnight , I mean really heavy. I can't help but think I need to book first gp appt to ask about fertility sooner rather than later, I've just put up with heavy periods and flooding for years but now I am very worried there's some underlying cause and it's affecting my chances of pregnancy. Could anyone tell me what happens at the first gp appointment? I dread going to Dr's at the best of times (anxiety issues) so I would like to be prepared if poss.

Writerwannabe83 · 18/09/2016 22:56

I did Wink

It was a bit of a half hearted attempt because he's still not well but we got there in the end Grin

I've booked him in for tomorrow night too Grin

Ooh that's weird sk1pper, I'm not sure how it knew!

Hope you and writer managed to pin down your OHs!

Writerwannabe83 · 18/09/2016 14:45

Ali - I'm on CD16 and due to ovulate on CD18.

I've had more EWCM today so we are having sex tonight, no excuses!

sk1pper · 18/09/2016 11:18

It's positive, how did Ovia know this? I didnt think the data that I've put in over the last few days indicated anything. Maybe it's the temps but they look erratic to me and there was no dip pre ovulation.

The October Bus - hoping for lots of BFPs and Summer babies!!
sk1pper · 18/09/2016 11:07

Now even Ovia has shifted my fertility window and I haven't even put in today's data. Urgh FFS, doing that OPK now...

sk1pper · 18/09/2016 11:01

Urgh I'm frustrated too. My CM is perfect this morning but OH not interested at all, won't do my opk till later but hoping it's still negative. Hopefully I can drag him away from his PC game later whatever my OPK.

Alibaba2 · 18/09/2016 10:37

Hi Writer,

It must be really frustrating but you've still got time this month.

Can you remind me what cd you're on and when you normally ov?

NappingRabbit · 18/09/2016 10:26

Argh writer that is so frustrating. I agree with others that the deadline seems to be creating unnecessary stress and pressure, but I get there's not a lot you can do about that when he's the one imposing it.

I'm expecting to ov on Wednesday if I follow last month's pattern. DTD Friday and last night, hoping DH will be up for more in the run up.

Writerwannabe83 · 18/09/2016 10:08

I've told DH that I've added an extra two months on to the deadline in light of last month and next month Grin

So I have got until the end of next August to get pregnant.

I've also told him that if during any future cycles he's out of the country or he's too ill/tired to perform when needed then that will also result in extra months being added Grin

OP posts:
sk1pper · 18/09/2016 10:03

Writer - I totally get why you are frustrated, I'm worried this time limit is going to put unnecessary stress over the whole thing though. Can you agree with DH that next months doesn't count as he's not around to DTD. This month sounds okay still, especially if you haven't had a positive OPK.

Writerwannabe83 · 18/09/2016 07:50

I'm just so frustrated as last month DH said we can TTC for 12 months and if nothing has happened then we stop and just have the 1DC.

Last month was a write-off because we only DTD the day of ovulation because prior to that he was withdrawing as he didn't want to TTC at that point.

This month we've already missed two nights of my FW.

Next month DH is out of the country for the entireity of my FW.

So that's two months of potential missed opportunity and one month (next month) of pregnancy not even being a remote possibility.

So that's 3 out of my 12 months wasted already Sad

OP posts:
PurpleHaze1 · 18/09/2016 07:37

Oh writer sorry that's bad timing for DH to get ill. We had the same 2 cycles ago & last cycle DD was sick on ovulation day! It's almost like the world is conspiring against us sometimes Hmm FX there's still a few days until you actually ovulate so plenty of time!

Writerwannabe83 · 18/09/2016 07:32

I've just done an OPK and it's totally negative so my anger has lessened somewhat.

I slept in the spare room last night as DH's cough was so bad and I can hear him downstairs now and he sounds much better so hopefully it will be 3rd time lucky tonight.
