Having light cramps and got a +opk today so expecting ov tomorrow or Saturday. I have a CT scan tomorrow so glad it's timed to coincide with ov and not when I'm in the tww!

Lousy how have you got the will power to wait 2days until the weekend?!
I've got everything crossed for a few more BFPs by Monday. There's a few lined up

Mouse well done on the weight loss. It's not easy. I'm 5" 8, size 16 and have a BMI of 27. I know yours is slightly higher but they didn't mention it. You'll probably find that the weight loss has worked in your favour. Women tend to get pregnant quickly after weight loss. I guess it kicks your body in to gear.

Lousy you are v brave. I don't think I could last that long. It takes every ounce of strength for me to wait until the day before AF.

Hi everyone, just caught up. Been in a on a team building course all day with work - massive headache now and can't be bothered to cook for OH so am going to subtly suggest a Chinese or something.

I'm sad no BFPs yet but I guess no ones out yet, and the bonus is - I think we'll all go back on the end of the bus. First in and last out, it's gonna be a loooong month. :D

Thanks MrsPositive and flashing it's certainly something I'd love to do. So when the time comes I'll ask about a home birth. I'm a size 16/18 5ft 9" and BMI is 33. I've lost over 2 stone this year dropping 2 dress sizes. I've always been bigger even when I was very very fit in my teenage years.

Well I'm trying not to symptom spot however my boobs are massive and killing. I still have loads of cm. AF due today but no sign. Had literally 2 spots of blood yesterday lunchtime. Nothing since. Don't want to test yet in case it's a bfn. Don't know what to think.

I know Flashing I tried to fight it but it was all red tape. I only actually saw the consultant once! It's a bit complicated but I moved half way through my pregnancy so I stayed with my original midwives who were seriously overworked. She did try to change my notes but I just don't think she had the time to chase it. I think it was easier for them to just let me go to hospital. However, when I came out of hospital I was picked up by the new midwives. My new midwife looked at my notes and said stay at home next time. I will be stronger the 2nd time around. I will fight the consultant. I'm going to make him discharge me if I don't have G diabetes. I'm planning a home birth anyway. I'd like DD to be there too so that she doesn't have to come home to a new baby. The only thing that concerns me is DD had low blood sugar as she was small, but I'm pretty sure the community midwives can deal with that, especially if I warn them. I had an amazing experience in hospital, midwives (the majority) were brilliant, but I want to be at home next time. I've got to get a bean to stick before I start thinking about all this though.

mrs That is ridiculous! There is absolutely no reason for you to be under consultant led care for that reason. I can't believe they wouldn't even let you on the MLU for that - what rubbish! If they say no, arm yourself with guidelines and ask to speak to a consultant midwife or supervisor of midwives as they will support you more than the doctors. But if you yourself test negative then your care should be low risk and midwife led.

MLU not MLS!

Flashing my father has diabetes. I wasn't allowed on the MLS because I was under consultant care, even though I tested negative for diabetes. Also, DD was born 36+6 which apparently is premature (ridiculous). The midwife told me after DD to have a home birth next time, so I'll just stay at home regardless of what they say. I had a really straightforward but with no pain relief, so I can't imagine my midwife will have a problem with me staying home.

Mouse the old fat person treatment is great isn't it. I'm guessing if you are bigger the you will be consultant led and once that's in your notes your hands are bloody tied.

Yes definitely Flashing. Out of interest, which hospital is that? I have a couple of local (London) hospitals and am tempted to go with a different one to last time as my community midwives were from there for my postnatal checkups and they were so bloody lovely and v pro home birth.

I'd love a home birth but I'm far too fat for them to let me probably. Even though I'm in perfect health.

mrs Why do you feel they will say no? I lost a lot of blood with my son so I fall out of 'guidelines' but I don't feel it's a major issue - I am happy to have an active 3rd stage and be cannulated at home incase of a repeat. I am a midwife at the hospital I'll be under so I don't think I'll have a problem getting them to say yes. My hospital has a high homebirth rate (7% compared to the London average of 2% ) and they often do homebirths 'outside of guidelines'.

Flashing I plan a home birth too, even if consultant says no. The hospital is 45 minutes away, so if labour is only 2 hours I'd have to wait for someone to pick up DD and wait for DH to get home. I'm not holding it in for no one.

We had surprise midnight roadworks on our own bloody road! And I nearly punched DH when he refused to start driving til I put my seatbelt on. Sitting down felt so wrong, I'd been on my feet til that point. It felt like I was sitting on DS's head.

The car ride to hospital was the worst part of my labour too. Fecking speed bumps!

Ooh me too Flashing, I debated a home birth last time but thought I'd play it safe til I was tried and tested. I was only at hospital about 45 mins before DS was born and the 10 min car ride and walk to the labour ward was by far the most painful part of the whole process, it felt like it lasted forever as I only had about 20sec between contractions to hobble (fully dilated!) as far as I could before stopping again. I was so much happier at home!

I took 2x 1000iu tablets a day at the same time. I have a rubbish memory so it worked best for me to take them together. I don't imagine it makes much difference what time they are taken

Flashing that's awesome that you saw a difference, I haven't had any EWCM that I've noticed this month only watery (sorry if TMI) hence why I thought I'd give it a go next cycle if not PG from this one... Recommended dose is 3 tablets a day though is that in one go or do they need to be spread out or does it not matter?
