Hi guys, just starting the October bus.

I'm almost 33, have a DS (2.5 years) and am now trying for DC2. I caught pregnant on cycle 1 but unfortunately had an early miscarriage and am now entering cycle 5.

My current situation is that DH has been changing his mind over the last 12 months to wanting to try for another, then not wanting to, then wanting to etc and it's been very difficult. We have now come to the compromise that we can actually try up until next August but if nothing has happened by then we stop TTC.

I'm on CD3 now, I usually ovulate around days 17/18 and have cycles of around 31/32 days.

Good luck to everyone!!! Flowers

Are any of these books useful, I keep contemplating getting one but assume most the info can be found online?

CaptainWarbeck · 30/09/2016 13:54

Bairn if you're feeling obsessive, The Impatient Woman's Guide To Getting Pregnant by Jean Twenge is a thoroughly good read! I got it on kindle... impatiently Grin

CaptainWarbeck · 30/09/2016 13:50

Sugar if it helps I got a BFP on 13dpo conceiving DS, I'd tested the 2 days before that and got negatives up until then.

Purple time for some gorilla action! Wink

Sk1pper chart looks promising, I like fertility friend. Fingers crossed for twins!!

I've got friends announcing pregnancies right left and centre at the moment. Really hoping I get a BFP this month or soon so I have some real life pregnant pals to compare notes with through the months. Last pregnancy I was all on my lonesome. Still waiting for a positive OPK, on CD14 today but not expecting to ovulate for another couple of days. No twinges yet!

Grin napping Suuz and Lulu

Haha Mrs do let us know!

"Working" from home today (Friday afternoon level of productivity), waiting for delivery of the Taking Charge of Your Fertility book and just generally having an obsessive day, I think I'm about 5 dpo.

DSS was pretty hard work this morning but also very sweet and lovely. I wonder if it will be easier or more difficult with a baby that grew in my own tum...random post but evidently I'm feeling reflective as well as obsessive today (emotions = symptom??) Wink

MrsPositiveAttidude2016 · 30/09/2016 13:46

Sk1pper I can do one better. I shall document it via camera phone and post the pics Hmm

sk1pper · 30/09/2016 13:43

mrspositive - i would be pleased to hear of any useful techniques, perhaps you could do a few diagrams/sketches?

MrsPositiveAttidude2016 · 30/09/2016 13:34

My DD already has a stuffed gorilla, don't know if I can look at him the same way. We're off to an ape sanctuary this month. I shall let you know if I see if I see any real life DTG!

Lulu298 · 30/09/2016 12:48

Not at all bairnsangs - love them!

SoozC · 30/09/2016 12:46

Bairns, that tea towel is so cute! I'd totally make it into the toy. Just have to keep my fingers crossed as I dtg tonight!

NappingRabbit · 30/09/2016 12:16

bairns Grin

Nausea is definitely not in my head, I've felt quite sick all morning. Convinced myself it was definitely a sign then realised nausea is a side effect of the vitamin B complex I started taking yesterday. So it's probably just that.

bairnsangs · 30/09/2016 11:26

Too far? Grin

Hehe I'm loving the jokes on this bus - think this could be the lucky mascot if we manage to get up-duffed on the October bus Grin

I think I'm going to chart from next month if there's no luck this cycle. Learning so much here on MN! On CD16 and in the TWW. Ovia says 9 days to pregnancy test and I've got a FRER stashed so not long to go...

sk1pper · 30/09/2016 10:47

I've been googling soft gorilla toys for babies. I might get one even if AF arrives, it can be the bus thread mascot.

SoozC · 30/09/2016 10:47

I'm also in favour of any October bus babies having a cuddly gorilla! Imagine explaining the reasoning behind that one to family or the child themselves...!

No temp hike for me so hoping for a +opk today and temp rise tomorrow.
Fx for all those who aren't out yet!

MotherofUnicorns · 30/09/2016 10:38

Thanks Sk1pper - i thought as much. It will be interesting to work backwards from AF to when i actually ovulated. And yes i am going mad with the OPK sticks for next cycle!! A bumper load arrived from Amazon the other day...

Might have a hot bath tonight to bring things on....
I LOVE the idea of a stuffed gorilla for any summer babies!! This is hilarious!.
I am also going to start temping next cycle, i love a graph and some data analysis!

Reflexology is supposed to help - i am not sure of all the science involved - as a scientist myself i am a little cynical BUT if it relaxes you and focuses you it can't be bad can it?? It is basically an excuse for a foot massage and an hour's peace!

Happy friday everyone!
xx

sugarplumfairy2010 · 30/09/2016 09:04

Hi when do you all start testing? Im so tempted to go and buy a frer to use tomorrow but i will only be 10dpo is that to early. This is the first month i actually ovulated after my misscariage so im so impatient to know either way. Im 29 and trying for baby number 3 first two were conceived the first month trying.

Lulu298 · 30/09/2016 08:52

I second the idea of stuffed gorilla toys for October bus babies flappergirl! Let's hope the silver backed fertility spirit animal looks kindly on us this month Grin

PurpleHaze1 · 30/09/2016 08:46

Glad you had an enjoyable evening mouse Wink I try not to mention to DH when my fertile week is as I think it adds the pressure. Although I think it's probably fairly obvious as I suddenly become sex mad! Blush

Hoping AF stays away napping

NappingRabbit · 30/09/2016 08:32

Good luck flapper, hope things go better tonight.

I'm feeling quite periody now so think AF is going to show today.

MouseLove · 30/09/2016 08:32

Morning ladies. So it seems if I mention baby making to my DH he's tired and not interested. But if I let him have a full evening on Fifa, order pizza and generally leave him to it I get ravished and have a wonderful DTG session!! WinkGrinFootballHalo

I'm enjoying this practice malarkey lol

sk1pper · 30/09/2016 08:31

DTG is a thing now. The bus approves :D

Purple - time to get down like a dirty monkey beast Grin

Flappergirl86 · 30/09/2016 08:27

Still no actual appearances of AF though so dont lose hope yet girls! Any babies that come from this bus have to have a stuffed gorilla as a first toy in honour of our Silverbacked fertility spirit animal. I'm on a promise for some DTG tonight, its the first day of my fertile window so hopefully it wont be a repeat of Wednesdays dry (very dry) run! x

PurpleHaze1 · 30/09/2016 07:55

Definitive positive OPK today. If it follows the same pattern as last cycle, I'll ovulate today. I'll need to put my best underwear on to persuade DH to DTG later. Ha ha!

The October Bus - hoping for lots of BFPs and Summer babies!!
PurpleHaze1 · 30/09/2016 07:39

Great chart sk1pper! As you say, without one to compare it to it's hard to say if that's your normal but it looks promising to me! By 9dpo last month my temps started to drop & continued to drop until AF a few days later so I knew I was out.

sk1pper · 30/09/2016 07:39

writer - do you feel super crampy? A really hot bath normally does it for me, are you sure you're out though? :(

Not testing till Sunday morning. I don't have any symptoms yet so hopeful but preparing for the worst. Got some super absorbent tampons arriving in the shopping order today lol
