Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We've got a few grads sticking around I won't leave and no question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

Your oh sounds very thoughtful hep, thinking of you this week and keeping everything crossed for Friday.

HepKestrel · 05/09/2016 13:23

I should add that i have received lovely advice from fxskip and ladies on the miscarriage forum (its hidden away on body and soul -why is it so hidden ??????). That has helped too.

HepKestrel · 05/09/2016 13:21

thanks marmite and alexia

yes, the in-laws left this morning. They are not the typical mn in-laws, they are lovely! but am glad I have the house to myself again.

OH is back to working away from home this week (well until thursday evening) but he is going to ask to be relocated to the closer office whatever the outcome on friday. He has said he will come home if i do miscarry before then. He is also very happy that i have cancelled a work trip abroad this week. Couldn't face the prospect of a miscarriage abroad on a work trip !!

hoping for the best, preparing for the worst..... I think i have admitted being a little bit of a control freak before .... Blush so am taking as much control as I can before friday, and .... yeah.... I'm doing ok Smile

AlexiaB · 05/09/2016 12:37

Peaches & Moose I also feel weirded out by the thought, especially after watching the Big Sperm Race! Oh and Moose I find it's a bit better after O when not simply "for the jizz". Good luck with your dtd plan, hope DH pulls it off! (not literally lmao)

Hep pleased to see you feeling positive despite the situation, fx for your next scan. I'm on cd16 so no idea of test date and no closer to getting a positive Opk. Hate long, unpredictable cycles!

Jem hugs! It's horrible. An old school friend's daughter started school today and I can't quite believe it.

sk1pper · 05/09/2016 12:19

My AF is due Thursday according to Clue or tomorrow according to Ovia. I'm going with tomorrow as I feel heavy...is feeling heavy even a thing?? My OH always laughs and says it's because of all the blob monsters in my womb. I don't know what he thinks a period is but even I call them blobs now.

marmitecheesetoast · 05/09/2016 12:17

Glad you're doing ok at the moment Hep, have your in-laws gone home now at least? Will be thinking of you on Friday and hoping, hoping for good news.

Also laughing re Alexia and Alice's dtd comments! DTD doesn't seem to get any more exciting after bfp.... I literally could not be less interested...

I think you guys should definitely start another fertility rain dance shimmies

Mooseville · 05/09/2016 12:02

Hi all!!! Welcome newbies!!! (Waves)

peaches I sometimes get a bit freaked out at the thought of all these little tadpoles swimming around in me for God knows how long! I know we want them there to conceive but it's still a bit ikky!!!! Lol

alexia and alice your comments made me laugh! I'm totally with you on sex losing something a bit when all you can concentrate on is 'get that jizz up there!' Poor DP hasn't been getting much of anything else off me as I'm not wasting it!

CD 8 here - going to start OPK's and aim to DTD Wed, Fri, Sat - as long as I can gee DP into action!

kwick got everything crossed for you! Those needles are grim!!!

HepKestrel · 05/09/2016 12:01

ok, since I need the distraction, I am happy to look after the bus tickets (if no one else has them.
send me your AF-due dates!

(one colour coded spreadsheet coming up.....)

LondonJem · 05/09/2016 11:53

Impressive efforts peaches I hope all your hard work pays off

Hep I'd be up for a fertility dance. The bus tickets are very out of date I'm afraid!

I'll be testing getting my period again on 15/09

An old friend had a baby girl a few days ago. There are LOTS of insta and FB pictures. I love this couple and so happy for them, but everytime I see this tiny baby I feel so sad and envious Sad

HepKestrel · 05/09/2016 11:41

thanks peaches . I'm actually doing alright (at the mo Wink). focussing on practicalities (i have my misscarriage-supply-bag) hidden in my handbag, and am oddly looking forward to the scan on friday so I can move on (one way or the other).

OH and I know we can conceive. OH is the loveliest most supportive person I could wish for.

have pm fxskip for some advice.

I am staying here as I really want to know how it goes for kwick and all of you ! fx fx fx fx

Do we have a nice summary of bus tickets? I want to know who to cheer on next Grin

come on everyone! lots of fun dtd ! we need some more bfps ! Grin

shall we restart the fertility rain dance?

sk1pper · 05/09/2016 11:25

Kwick - I've just scanned back through the thread to see what needle everyone is talking about. I found it and broke into a cold sweat. I love how matter of fact you are about it all, it's gotta be done I guess so well done you :)

nicky883 · 05/09/2016 10:18

That sound tough kwick but i am sure it will be worth it in the end !
Lovely ignore my ingorance but how can ypu not ovulate if you have regular periods ?

Peaches8Posies · 05/09/2016 10:12

Hello ladies, welcome newbies Grin

I have literally dtd at every opportunity these last couple of weeks. Even twice on Friday. If I'm not upduffed this month I give up! OH is currently as dry as a bone. God knows how much sperm has been living inside me Blush

Anyway, 100% sure we are due some luck on this thread soon!! Anyway, me....
peaches 36
Started in December, bfp in Feb, MC in may at 11 + 6. Not a hint of anything since......

hep im soo sorry to hear your sad news. If life was fair it would be a straight forward case of getting your bfp and having a lovely 8 months there after looking forward to having our little babies in our arms. Take care of yourself. Vent here if you need to. X

kwick thngs are looking good so far. Fx you don't bruise badly like the last time. What us ladies put ourselves through eh....

London well do everything in getting the deed done! Men are a right off when it comes to drinking with friends! They say it only takes that one time spent fx you got it.

jellyella · 05/09/2016 06:56

Thank you for the lovely welcomes.
*
Kwick* - fair play on the injections, that sounds tough! But will be worth it.
Skipper - I've been tracking through FF, just the free version. I haven't used BBT yet (mainly because I can see it might spur some pretty obsessive behaviours in myself and I've been trying to delay that!) but I have used cheaply OPK sticks this month which have been helpful in confirming that I have indeed ovulated (or at least had a LH surge).

Well done alexia on the 2am DTD, as motivated as I am I'm not sure I'd be able to do that!!

.

kwick · 05/09/2016 05:47

You should see the bruise I have on my leg after first Prontogest stabbing yesterday. Nurse recommended for me to work round the 4 stabbing spots: right leg, right bum, left bum, left leg.... Last time I got SO sore. Already have done today's as she said best to do in the morning and I had to leave home at 5am to catch my flight to Nice. So tired!

AlexiaB · 04/09/2016 23:20

skipper Yeh run both and see which you like best, I did for a while too. Opks alongside BBT is really helpful too if you don't have regular cycles.

No, you should temp orally or vaginally. I temp orally at 6.30am every day, even weekends (I go back to sleep after). You should take your temperature at the same time each day and after at least 3 hours solid sleep.

sk1pper · 04/09/2016 22:58

Thank you alexia, ive downloaded FF and am going to give it a shot. I may run Ovia at the same time and see what I like best but your recommendation has pretty much convinced me anyway.

I haven't really read up too much on the best way to collect temp readings yet, though someone on mumsnet said before you get up in the morning and under the armpit. Does that seem right?

LondonJem · 04/09/2016 21:34

Ay carumba that needle kwick Shock

Welcome skipper better luck with the next doc you see that first response is not good enough

Very good work from your DH alexia!

AlexiaB · 04/09/2016 21:02

skipper I haven't used Clue before but I have used Ovia and Fertility Friend since April. At first I thought Ovia was better simply because it was pretty and colourful, but in reality it's rubbish and when compared to FF. I haven't deleted Ovia though because the anonymous chat/question part can be useful and a stress relief.

I think FF is worth the subscription price. The online community is amazingly helpful and supportive. There's also FF guides who give great personalised feedback on your chart if you need help or advice. Don't be put off by FF's clinical look (like I was), you'll pick it all up very quickly. The BBT chart is incomparable to Ovia's basic charting system.

Also in terms of advice for charting BBT- I worked myself up and obsessed over each and every temperature in my first month charting. It really affected my sleep and in turn made most of my temps unreliable. My advice would be to chill out and not over think it too much. After you've charted a couple cycles you will have a much clearer picture of your cycles and feel more comfortable. This is something I wish someone had said to me before, so I hope it helps :)

LovelyFishy · 04/09/2016 20:34

Welcome Cat and Skipper!

Kwick that is a fierce looking needle!

Jem I hope you're feeling a bit better about it all now, you're always free to rant away here!

I've started symptom spotting today, even though I know I'm probably not ovulating. Agh!!

HepKestrel · 04/09/2016 20:26

fantastic news marmite .

.....and such a kewl photo kwick - really looking forward to your updates..... I hope everything goes well for you.

welcome jelly, cat and skip

sk1pper · 04/09/2016 20:16

Thank you Alexia, any tips most welcome. I've been using Clue up until now, but I did download Ovia earlier because I know that takes temp readings. Is fertility friend better than Ovia? I know it's all down to personal taste but still interested in what people think. :)

AlexiaB · 04/09/2016 19:48

Welcome skipper! I highly recommend Fertility Friend for charting BBT if you aren't already using it.
