Welcome Vox!

Ooh we're prob going to be testing very close together Eva
I'll be stopping tea too and the Angus Castus once Ov.

Rubyflamingo Grin hooray!! I remember the feeling I had when I first got a positive OPK!! I rushed DH into the bathroom to show him the smiley face! Blush

writer glad you got an even darker line!!
I have to admit I've stopped telling DH when it's FW. He was suffering from a by of performance anxiety I think. I've been trying to keep up with everyday! When he was away for work I told him to make sure he ( this is way TMI and I'm trying to word politely) relieved himself as I had read that sperm building up is old/dead sperm and no good! Grin

RubyFlamingo · 21/08/2016 12:35

I got my first positive opk yesterday! Line was really dark but has gotten lighter again today so I'm pretty pleased with that. I'm pretty sure I was only on cd12 though, so plenty earlier than I was expecting.

Writer I'm so pleased that there's been progress for you!

Writerwannabe83 · 21/08/2016 09:36

OPK this morning is darker than yesterday's.

He's away in Octover over my FW so I'm not going to include that month in my designated 12 months. If he can't perform tonight and this month is a write off then I'm going to discount this month in the 12 months too Grin If I'm only allowed 12 months of TTC then that means to me I get 12 months where conception is actually a possibility Grin

mrsG test date will be around 14th Sept. No I'm going to carry on with EPO but I'll stop the raspberry leaf tea on ov day. I think it's already making a difference.
writer great news about DH and you got the + yesterday so will ov in next 24-48 hours so it's worth DTD tonight anyway right? He's agreed to try for 12 months so plenty of other Windows to come if you miss this one
vox welcome

sk1pper · 21/08/2016 08:31

Vox - welcome, and don't worry about the long posts. Always good to read people's stories :) I can't imagine now hard it must be trying to fit it all in around you DHs shifts, but try to relax and take every month as it comes. What cycle day are you at the moment?

Writer - congrats about your DH, 12 months is plenty of time for #2. Try another opk today, sometimes I a couple if I'm lucky. Not sure how long the window is but guess it differs from woman to woman.

peasandquiet · 21/08/2016 08:22

Oh writer both good and bad news. Perhaps it would be best/compromise if you aim to DTD 2/3 times a week regardless of fertile week, that way he won't know that's it's the prime time and to him at least will appear spontaneous in your FW. I have to say my husband is putting up with me only seeming keen when it's the prime time and every month I promise myself I won't be like it and then life gets in the way. 12 months is a good amount of time to ttc aswell so I'm sure it will happen for you. Hopefully you will have a BFP soon.

Writerwannabe83 · 21/08/2016 06:48

Things didn't go to plan though MrsGsnow as when it can to DTD he couldn't perform. I guess the pressure of it all got to him, it went very awkward.

It hasn't been mentioned this morning.

I feel gutted. Part of me wants to do another OPK because if it's still positive I know we could perhaps have another shot at it tonight (if he can) but on the other hand if I take one and it comes back negative I will feel so sad that the chance has been missed Sad

voxnihili · 21/08/2016 06:12

Hi.
I'm 32 TTC #1. I came off the pill 12 months ago to start TTC straight away. We had a rocky 9 months due to lots of issues - DP has erectile dysfunction and avoided DTD as he was worried about not being able to perform (not that he told me his worries, I just thought he'd changed his mind). Due to the ED and his ex having a termination (he really wanted the baby), anything to do with TTC felt really awkward to talk about, to the point I was considering leaving him as I felt so rejected.
Anyway, we got stuck in a traffic jam 3 months ago and I decided to seize my opportunity and discuss it while he couldn't run away. It was a successful chat but still hasn't been easy due to DPs shift patterns as sex has to be a bit at really weird times which doesn't help the ED as I can't just not tell him when my FW is it's fairly obvious when I pounce on him as soon as I'm in from work, or when he gets home at silly o clock!
The first two months we only DTD once each time and period was late both times which was stressful although I have slightly irregular periods so may not have been technically late. First month I was convinced it worked as had symptoms but nothing. This month my FW coincided with a holiday but trying not to get my hopes up now I'm in 2ww. Also got the thought that if it didn't happen while nice and relaxed and DTD every day, it will never happen.
Sorry for the epic post!

MrsGsnow18 · 21/08/2016 05:47

Wahey!! Good to hear writer!

misstiggiwinkle sorry that you're not well! typical timing Sad

Eva my ETD isn't until 11 or 12th Sept. When's yours?
Hoping my ov will be end of August so it's just about giving a bit of time for all these new things to work. Are you planning on stopping the EPO after ov?

Writerwannabe83 · 20/08/2016 22:55

OMG - breakthrough alert!!!

After a good, slightly tipsy, wine induced conversation, DH has agreed that we can TTC but if nothing has happened in 12 months then we stop trying.

That's a good compromise in my eyes!!

Eek!!! Grin Grin Smile

Sewingupa5torm · 20/08/2016 22:23

Certainly looks positive to me too 😁

Writerwannabe83 · 20/08/2016 22:22

Well I've had a glass of wine for Dutch courage so now I have to just pounce on DH who is unsuspecting and watching the Olympics...

Purplefairy21 · 20/08/2016 22:21

I'd say it's positive as well writer

Eva30 · 20/08/2016 22:16

Yeah I'd say positive too writer

sk1pper · 20/08/2016 22:05

Writer - yeah I'd class this as positive

Writerwannabe83 · 20/08/2016 21:56

Not the best photo due to poor focus but I think it's positive? The two lines look of equal strength to me?

Writerwannabe83 · 20/08/2016 21:44

Thanks for your comments everyone. I've had a really sad day at work today and it's just made me think that life's too short for all this umming and aahing and that we should go for it.

I haven't told DH this yet though Grin

I've just got in from work so I'm going to go and do an OPK....

peasandquiet · 20/08/2016 20:45

Checking in, fell off the Aug bus this week and now on the tail end of AF. Also taking EPO as one of the August ladies told us about it, things are a bit dry so hoping that this helps! With regards to the sperm coming out I think that's why we need lots of CM to keep it up there and help it survive. Anyway I have a fairly regular cycle and a big penchant for POAS this month I have CB OPK's and will start testing over the bank holiday weekend fingers crossed that September is all of our months.

misstiggiwinkle · 20/08/2016 20:22

Ughhh ive got the strongest +ve opk I've had for the last 8 months this evening and it's just my luck that I caught a nasty stomach bug from my toddler yesterday. Can't keep anything down (both ends Confused) and now facing the prospect of having to Dtd and not throw up! Bloody typical. Pretty determined though, ttc #2 has been way harder than I was anticipating

Eva30 · 20/08/2016 16:58

Hey mrsG what's your test date? I got EPO and green tea & raspberry leaf tea, really hope it all works. Am hoping for better EWCM with all these things this month.

MrsGsnow18 · 20/08/2016 16:21

It's supposed to strengthen the uterine lining and lengthen luteal phase ( mines usually quite short Sad)
It doesn't taste bad actuallyBrew

sk1pper · 20/08/2016 16:07

Yeah my OH thinks it's ridiculous and it is to be honest. I've just bought some primrose oil tablets :) what is the raspberry leaf tea good for?

MrsGsnow18 · 20/08/2016 15:22

Legs behind head! Haha! I have visions of some kind of gymnastic move!Grin
I'm now full on even more crazy than usual more determined than ever this month.
As well as my TTC vitamins I've just added evening primrose oil tablets and am currently drinking some raspberry leaf tea.

All these things' benefits are debated online but I actually at this point just think fuck it! it's worth a try!

sk1pper · 20/08/2016 13:57

Yeah I had my first day of trying SMEP the other day and tried the legs behind head technique afterwards and managed to get cystitis. I've only just managed to get it under control so won't be doing that again. Apparently you should pee about 10 mins after sex if you can to stop that from happeningg

MrsGsnow18 · 20/08/2016 12:13

Sorry writer Sad

lalaland I read somewhere about someone using a mooncup or something similar to keep with sperm up there? Shock
I have no idea how that works really TBH though.
One month i was determined to stay lying flat and went to sleep each time after. I got a terrible UTI Angry so now I just wait for a few mins ( try and elevate a bit without seeming too obvious to DH who thinks I'm crazy) then I have to go for a pee.
I read online that lying down for 10 mins helps but that even if you have to get up straight away it's no big deal.
