That's settled then will opk in the morning not afternoon this month to hopefully get a clearer result. Especially in the hot weather I can't go hours in the afternoon without water. Welcome Waliking Smile

MrsGsnow18 · 23/08/2016 18:17

Walikingdeadfan · 23/08/2016 17:08

Hi everyone,

Can I join the september bus too?
ttc #1
But had a mc in June
I'm on CD 16 so about to start 2 week wait.
Hoping to try and avoid over-analysing every symptom, this month!

sk1pper · 23/08/2016 14:03

Same used to opk in the afternok. and this month I've switched to morning as its much more easier to pick up lower levels.

NappingRabbit · 23/08/2016 13:56

I think that's been my problem in the past peas - I did one this morning at work at about 10am having avoided drinking too much beforehand. I had previously been doing them later in the day when much more hydrated!

I've been taking EPO this month, must remember to stop today!

peasandquiet · 23/08/2016 12:54

that's great nappingrabbit! I struggle with OPK's too as I drink loads of water my wee is always too clear. Have any of the August ladies trying EPO noticed a difference yet? It's CD7 for me and I am getting plenty of EWCM. Taking 2 tablets a day atm will up to 3 at the weekend and stop taking on day I get positive OPK/I run out as only got 30 pills. Feeling very determined this month worried I'll crash if this isn't our month .?

NappingRabbit · 23/08/2016 11:04

CD19 and finally got a positive OPK this morning Smile It's the first time I've ever managed to do an OPK at the right time and get a proper positive. Woop!

sk1pper · 23/08/2016 09:33

Lalaland - it's amazing how quickly a year passes when you are scrutinising 28 day cycles. I feel like I've wished away a whole year of my life. Keep testing with your OPKs for a few days to see if there is any change. Next cycle try not to miss a day, you can be guaranteed it's the one day you get a positive or something - I'm sure the same thing happened to me one cycle...still don't know what happened.

lalaland1985 · 23/08/2016 09:11

I've never tested for ovulation before. This is my first cycle ttc so I really have no idea. I've kept notes of dates of my last periods and my cycles are between 31 - 33 days. I'm sure they were 28 up until my long haul honeymoon. I'll just keep an eye on that too. My af should be due between the 31st and the 4th.

Skipper I have so much admiration and respect for you going through this for a year. If I'm here this time next year I swear I will be posting from the asylum.

McBaby · 23/08/2016 08:53

Lala maybe your positive would have been in Friday. Mine seemed to be darker for a couple of days after.

McBaby · 23/08/2016 08:51

Ff has confirmed my ovulation on 3dpo it seems like a long time will the end of next week!!

sk1pper · 23/08/2016 08:40

Writer - great, hopefully he's over his wobble now. It's probably because your talk was so fresh in his mind.

Lalaland - has your ovulation day ever been late before?

I did an opk today and there was only the faintest of lines. Ovulation day is meant to be tomorrow but I'm wondering if with the heat and humidity my cycles gone crazy. I am secretly hoping my ovulation day is Friday because then with the SMEP you have to DTD 3 consequtive days in a row and I'd rather be home for that. It's not something we'd usually do.

lalaland1985 · 22/08/2016 21:57

Sounds positive bairns. Welcome vox. So happy things are going better for you writer.

I'm more confused than ever. According to ovia my fertile window finished on Saturday. Just did a opk and although it wasn't positive it's darker than Thursday and Saturday. I didn't test on Friday. What's going on!?

Writerwannabe83 · 22/08/2016 21:23

skipper - it went very well, he performed with no problems. I was planning on DTD again but I've only just got in from work (been out the house 14.5 hours) and I just feel too tired. Tonight would be the 5th night in a row and I just don't have the energy Grin

Sewingupa5torm · 22/08/2016 17:03

Yay! Glad to hear it bairns hopefully your biopsy comes back clear but certainly sounding positive!!

voxnihili · 22/08/2016 16:21

I've considered cutting alcohol out completely but on an average week I still drink less than half the recommended maximum so I don't think it's a huge issue. If I was regularly getting drunk I would cut down. If things take longer I will speak to my doctor and see if I should cut it out completely as cutting down from what I normally drink is effectively being teetotal.

bairnsangs · 22/08/2016 15:03

I had the colposcopy today...The Mirena coil is OUT! The cervix has been examined and biopsied (ouch!) and I've been reassured that although there are minor changes, these might be due to a local infection due to coil. Either way, I may not need treatment (just monitoring with frequent smears) and if I do, it's likely to be the least invasive method. DP and I even got to see my cervix on the screen! Very cool (just a little bit gross).

We have to wait up to 4 weeks for the biopsy results to come back but it looks like things are ok - certainly not the worse case scenario I was crying about yesterday! So not a definite answer but enough information to base decisions on perhaps - Sewing unless it's a definite all clear or urgent treatment, I don't think you get told on the day.

Obviously there are still some unknowns until we get the results but the plan is to DTD with intent and my FW is coming up... Very, very happy (if crampy) and glad to be able to stay on the bus with you guys! Hey Mimi are we still cycle buddies - CD2 here apparently so planning to test mid-Sept Smile

sk1pper · 22/08/2016 08:49

Vox - I know how frustrating it is when you feel like you've done everything you can and still don't conceive. But even if you hit the right window with sex you still only have about a 25% chance of fertilising the egg. So if this cycle fails don't give up hope. I know alcohol is your saving grace and you're on holiday but you may want to cut back a little bit as it will lessen your chances. I'm not teetotal but just finding I actually don't want to drink it anymore given the choice because of the cutting back.

Writer - so how did it go? ;)

voxnihili · 21/08/2016 22:14

I meant to add that I'm not using OPKs or tracking temp as I wanted to be as relaxed as possible due to DP's shifts. I hadn't downloaded apps or anything. Well, turns out my body has other ideas and I get ovulation pain for about a week. I had a trabsvaginal scan which confirmed ovulation and I then downloaded an app and my pains for exactly with the proposed fertile window. I'm not sure if this is a blessing or a curse! DP has enjoyed sex everyday on holiday as he thinks sex for a baby is great (wasn't expecting that one!) and not sure whether to let on that sex for the next week won't have much effect as I'm quite enjoying it!

voxnihili · 21/08/2016 22:08

Thanks for the welcome. I'm currently CD19 (I think - sorry on holiday and too many cocktails). This week has been my fertile week and we've DTD every day pretty much. DP has surprised me as he's usually so unromantic so I was dreading the whole sex for TTC thing but he thinks it's the most romantic thing ever I think! I am worried though as I think if it doesn't work this month with loads of sex and is being relaxed what hope do we have. I know I probably should have given up drinking but it's my only vice (I'm not usually a heavy drinker just a glass of wine with dinner at weekends) but I don't want to make this the soul focus of life in case it doesn't happen. AF due 3rd Sept ish (I'm guessing it will be late just to add to the stress). Am excited but terrified at the same time as know this is our best chance - 2 weeks in the same time zone!

Writerwannabe83 · 21/08/2016 21:41

I did an OPK an hour ago and the test line is barely visible now.

Me and DH are watching a film and I'm trying to think of ways to lure him into the bedroom! Things feel a bit awkward after his failure to perform last night and I don't want him feeling pressured and then the same thing happening tonight too...

sk1pper · 21/08/2016 18:35

My cystitis is pretty much gone do me and OH are back on SMEP today. :D only missed a day and haven't had a positive opk yet.

lalaland1985 · 21/08/2016 17:05

Oh writer that's fabulous news!! So happy for you.

That's my fertile week over.. Only managed to dtd three times. Let the 2WW commence!

Writerwannabe83 · 21/08/2016 14:57

Even every other day sounds too exhausting to me.... Grin

DH has promised me some action tonight so fingers crossed we've not missed our chance this month.

MrsGsnow18 · 21/08/2016 13:45

That should be every other day!* I don't think I'd be up for everyday for a whole month Blush
