September bfp bus

It's so expensive, I think I naively thought that all sessions were free through the NHS so that's an eye opener for me. How long does it take from start to finish, and did you find it quite intrusive and tiring?

I don't mind at all! The IVF was free as it was the first one on the NHS. Neither me or DH have kids between us. The next one we'll have to pay for, which for us will most likely be cost us anything between £5,000 to £6,500. That's the ballpark figure the consultant gave us. It includes the drugs, scans, egg collection, the actual ICSI/IVF procedure on the eggs, the egg transfer itself and any frozen eggs transfers (we didn't have any eggs to bank unfortunately).

Antonia - your story is incredible, how much has IVF cost you - if you don't mind me asking.

Happybus I have 34 day cycles and just started taking Angus Cactus to see if that helps. Seems like it has definitely helped some people from the reviews on Amazon anyway.

Potted History:

Been trying since Jan 2009. Had 18 months of infertility investigations. Both tubes were swollen, one removed and one saved. Everything else checked out OK. One free round of ICSI worked but didn't take back in April this year. Never had a BFP. Consultant has confirmed there is no reason for us not to get pregnant. Have agreed to try naturally for another month before we start looking at paying for another round of IVF.

AF due on Wed/Thur so if it's a no show, I'll be testing on Friday.

I'm still waiting for mine but technically not due till tomorrow. I feel like the blood gates may open soon, that and Ovia bitch-slapping me across the face to say that all the evidence points to my period not pregnancy. Nothing like a friendly app to bring you back down to earth ;)

I've had long cycles since coming off the pill (41 days followed by 52!) hoping this cycle is shorter. Still not 100% sure if I have ovulated or not. Done a OPK every day since CD12 and not had a positive yet however yesterday and today I've had random pains in my boobs and pelvic area which is promising. Anyone else having the misfortune of long cycles? It's driving me mad!!!

As expected AF has arrived today 2 days early 2nd cycle in a row of just 22 days starting to worry that my cycles may be too short! But hoping it just means I'll have more chances! On to cycle 3...

Ovia is showing FW as next week which coincides with a week off so hoping will be able to DTD lots! And next AF due on 29th so I'm staying on this bus!

Come on ladies one of you has to get a BFP soon!

This thread is way too depressing. We need bfps! My af has stopped and I'm ready to go for this month! Not sure i have the energy for smep but def need to try to step up the shagging! Not sure how easy that will be as am knackered but we shall see!

I'm actually thinking that if I have the same issue next cycle I may purchase one of the clear blue fertility monitors. Find out exactly what my body is doing.

Hahaha lala - I have been known to use that method myself.

I have known people continue to use OPKs after they get positives because it may be the body geared up to ovulate, hence the surge of LSH, but then it didn't happen and so a woman can get more positive OPKs a few days later as the body prepared to try again.

It might be worth trying that over the next few cycles if you continue to have late periods.

Apparently the luteal phase pretty much remains the same every cycle so if a period is late it's because ovulation was late as opposed to the period just going AWOL

I read somewhere that having sex can bring on an overdue period.. DH has a fabulous weekend.

lala - could you have ovulated later than you thought? Do you temp?

A late period with BFNs is usually due to late ovulation..

Now I'm wondering if I just ovulated late. I dtd on the 21st, 26th and 28th. Would that be showing already? My boobs are huge!!!

in gonna try and not test until Thursday, if the witch don't get me. I will keep and eye out for sudden sharp pains etc. If by some miracle I do get a BFP I will be kissing my fertility doctors feet next Monday 12th. Good luck ladies and stay away witch.

Still no af ! So strange how it appears we are all in limbo! Hopefully we get an answer soon! It's is incredibly frustrating

Sorry to hear you're in the same boat too. I just feel so anxious about it. I know deep down I'm not as it would have shown by now, but feel like I almost have to assume that I am until AF shows.
