Good work on the excuses marmite 😁

Seven if you think you ov'd around cd 15 and your cd 33 now then you are good to test!! You can test from 10dpo and you are at leat 15 😄

OP posts:
LuciBee231015 · 18/08/2016 08:42

Seven, maybe wait until the weekend and test again?

Loving all the excuses, hope I get to use some of them soon!

I'm only on cycle 1 and I feel like I've been doing this forever lol x

Seven0fNine · 18/08/2016 08:34

Slash I think I O'vd around day 15 as I had spotting and pains but can't be sure as I didn't test or anything....

marmitecheesetoast · 18/08/2016 08:34

Sounds like very similar Ov pains to what I had shoney - hope you've been DILR Grin

Thanks bobo and sarah I think I will ring again tomorrow. I'm coming up 6 weeks so I don't think it's that early? I'm just concerned I'm not 'on the system' and want to know how it works with getting the booking in appointment with midwife. It's funny we all know so much about ttc but then it's a whole new world after BFP ana back to having no information and feeling clueless all over again!

grow I also has a few drinks in 2ww (actually realised month I got BFP I'd consumed half a bottle of prosecco weekend before BFP Hmm) so I wouldn't worry about cutting out drinking totally unless you want to. Excuses I've used to far since being preggo are UTI, think I'm coming down with cold/sore throat, trying not to drink in the week anymore. Have also sneakily ordered mocktails off cocktail menu!

Seven0fNine · 18/08/2016 08:32

What's the longest cycle you guys have had?
I'm now on day 33 and still no sign of AF. Did tests on Monday and Tuesday, both -ve. Been having tummy ache the past few days but it isn't af type pain...it might just be nerves! Did have sore boobs over the weekend but that's gone now though I am noticing them more. Gone off wine which is very odd but again don't know if I'm just imagining it or not.

When do you think I should I test again? Got some ic on order and was thinking I'm gonna stick it out until weekend before testing again.

Haven't told DH what I'm feeling incase it's just all in my head! 😭😭😭

sarahhh1984 · 18/08/2016 08:03

Haha, grow, that sounds like my kind of party! Wink If you want to moderate what you're drinking, just drink slowly so you go through less and then once everyone is too drunk to care just switch to a soft drink.

Once you have you're BFP you'll have plenty of time for fake migraines, UTIs, IBS attacks/indigestion and "busy day ahead tomorrow" excuses! I've had to lie to one friend on Tuesday, and then I have to lie to two more on Friday and next week. The difficult one is in a couple of weeks when I have to try to lie to my mum two Fridays in a row... That'll be tough! 12 week scan can't come soon enough! Xx

growcookeat · 18/08/2016 07:52

There were 7 of us btw!

growcookeat · 18/08/2016 07:49

That's good to know. I definitely won't be able to get away with not drinking at all as we're all staying in a house together. Once the others have started on the good French red I doubt they'll even notice what I'm doing! Last year we got through 40+ bottles in a week Shock.

Have a good day everyone!

sarahhh1984 · 18/08/2016 06:40

grow, as Bobo said, unless you want to give up drink at this point there's no need to.

During my 2ww I had a few drinks here and there - nothing excessive but I still had them. Also have two friends who are currently pg and both drank all the way through the tww and into the early stage as they didn't know since neither was actually ttc! In both cases their midwives/GPs told them it was fine. In fact one was told that their GP believed stressing out about doing the "right" thing when ttc might cause more harm than good. So what I'm long-windedly trying to say is that if you have one or two cheeky drinkies at this stage, you'll be fine!

Bobo, sorry you don't have a clue what's happening this cycle. But as long as you're dtd every other day then the chances are still good. Fx really tight for you! Smile

HighHopes16 · 18/08/2016 06:19

grow I had a night out when I was about 6 weeks pregnant and managed to get away with not drinking at all. I just ordered either orange juice/ lemonade/ Diet Coke and pretended they had vodka in. By the end of the night people were buying shots so my husband had to sneakily drink mine. Grin

BoBo90 · 17/08/2016 23:48

Marmite I would call the hospital again and hopefully you will get a nicer person on the phone!

Fx shoney!

Sound like you had your surge overnight Grow 😄 as long as you dtd in the days before and today/tomorrow you have done all you can 😊 Just bare in mind that you only have a 20% chance each cycle so if it doesn't happen it's not because you did anything wrong!
You don't need to worry about alcohol yet if you don't want to. Nothing you eat/drink will be passed on to little eggy this early on 😊 It's about week 6 onwards that starts happening

No idea what's happening with me this cycle 🤔 I've had watery cm, white cm, pains at random times throughout the last week, low cervix, high cervix... You name it - I've had it! So I might have ov'd a few days ago or I might be about to ?? It's a mystery 😩 All I can do is carry on with dtd every other day and wait for af in 10+ days

OP posts:
growcookeat · 17/08/2016 22:56

Looby I've def been there with the symptom spotting - the month before last I convinced myself I was pg - sore boobs, mild pains, nausea for a good 4 days - to the point that I went off alcohol whilst away with friends. Then 2 days later AF shows up. Never had symptoms like that before pill or since!

Marmite* hope you get some answers soon. Thanks for updating - it's useful to get info on what might happen next when you're stuck at the first stage.

So after a pretty dark opk yesterday (and dtd!) today's opk was pale again! So if that was it hoping we caught it, will keep testing a few more days. Going on holiday next week though so will have to be super careful drinking etc. Terrible timing as will be away with friends Confused

Any tips on how to avoid drinking without it being obvious?!

LuciBee231015 · 17/08/2016 18:46

Fx shoney x

Shoney85 · 17/08/2016 18:35

Well interesting day, what I thought was bad heartburn actually sore boobs and got worse as the morning went on. I took an ovulation test at lunch but still negative. The line looked slightly more darker but probably just thinking that. Anyway in the last half hour or so Ive had pretty bad pains coming from my right lower side. I've never experienced this before and genuinely at one point felt like I had a pulse for a few secs down there then shortly after felt like I had a stitch low down to the right. So praying that an egg has been released or if not on its way. Can still feel an uncomfortableness down there. Will take an ovulation test shortly see if there is any change. Fingers crossed Star Star

sarahhh1984 · 17/08/2016 17:25

Perhaps you could call that number back, marmite, and just say that no one's really explained what you're meant to do next, when should you call back etc.? You never know, you may get someone nicer this time!If not, perhaps go back to the GP and get them to do the referral to the other hospital? At least then you'd be in the system and I was reading today that you can change your mind later about the hospital you want to give birth in - this doesn't set it in stone apparently. xx

marmitecheesetoast · 17/08/2016 16:57

Thanks sarah yeah I agree! No idea which hospital to pick and feeling a bit stressed/overwhelmed about it all actually. I mean in some ways it's good to have a choice, but in other ways, how are we actually meant to decide?! Also feel a bit miffed that GP didn't really do anything and I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to be doing now. Would feel better if I was 'in the system' wth local midwifes.
Glad it's all sinking in a bit for you now, such an exciting time! I agree talking to someone else about it makes it feel real and that must be even more true when you've got midwife appointment booked in!

Hope all those symptom spotting and in the 2ww are managing to hold on to some sanity. Try to ignore all symptoms and put it out your head as best as you can to stay sane I say (easier said than done!) also leave testing til late as you can hold out for!!

LuciBee231015 · 17/08/2016 16:48

I've now got a dull tummy ache...I have a feeling it may by af on her way perhaps. Not had a proper one since stopping the pill 3 weeks ago. I guess I'll just have to wait and see!

I'm so impatient, I hate all this waiting!

tatatetelle · 17/08/2016 16:31

Sorry about the bug - didn't mean to send the message twice.

also HighHopes let us know if you can get your results over the phone! Fx

tatatetelle · 17/08/2016 16:29

I completely empathise with you looby, happened to me a few months ago when I still had AF (although irregularly) so could track-ish. I felt bloated, had pain/slight cramps around ovaries, felt nauseous, boobs and nipples were sensitive... for me it turned out to be false alarm... our mind plays weird tricks on us sometimes...
But still, who knows..! Might be worth trying to relax and wait until you can test..! It only takes the one time Wink

looby1304 · 17/08/2016 16:14

I'm going slightly crazy with symptom spotting. I've deleted ovia and didn't get on with measuring BBT but I still sit here thinking about every possible symptom. I'm only on cd20 so have got at least 10 days before I can test! So far I've convinced myself that my boobs and nipples are more sensitive, I feel nauseous every now and then, I'm finding running more difficult and I've got a metallic taste. I think that most of these are probably imaginary though! We didn't even dtd as much this month so I'd say chances are they mean nothing.

It really didn't help either that I went into work today and one of the other teachers told us she's 13 weeks pregnant, I thought being back at work would take my mind off it!

Anyone else having/had similar problems?

LuciBee231015 · 17/08/2016 14:57

I'm on cd13 today. Today and yesterday had pink/light brown tinged cm (sorry tmi!!) feel majorly bloated and constipated, literally impossible to drag myself out of bed in the morning too. I'm guessing symptoms of coming off the pill.

Going to do another ov test later, if I was on a normal 28 day cycle this would be my fertile week so kind of acting as if it is, even though I don't know! ...just in case!

Hope everyone is ok. x

sarahhh1984 · 17/08/2016 14:22

It's just about sunk in now, marmite. Think talking about it to someone other than DH (even if it was just my GP and the lady on the phone) had made it seem real. Have you had any joy deciding on a hospital?

It's horrible that you got that brush off from the maternity service. And, HighHopes, it's horrible they wouldn't even let you make the appointment. Think I'm really lucky to be in Liverpool. I was reading on the Women's Hospital website and it's their policy to see every pregnant woman as early as possible. Their aim is for between 8 and 10 weeks but looks like I just got lucky with an early appointment. Think their policy should be the rule, not the exception. Xx

HighHopes16 · 17/08/2016 13:35

tata I never thought about getting my results over the phone - it's worth a try as I don't want to wait another month!

Glad your first appointment went well sarah. When I first found out I was pregnant, my GP said they didn't make appointment until after 8 weeks and I never got to that stage.

I agree about the dry mouth momma I also had a metallic taste for the first couple of weeks. Fingers crossed!

marmitecheesetoast · 17/08/2016 13:05

Glad it went well sarah my GP didn't check any of that stuff! And I'm still feeling rather deflated after brush off from maternity unit. Not really sure when I'm supposed to ring back. Glad your experience was better! It's great you have a first appointment to work towards, that's what I could really do with! How are you feeling has it sunk it at all yet?!
