Elllicam......no I wasn't really tracking anything. I roughly guessed where I was ovulating and most fertile and that happened to be when we were away for a weeks break and being extra "loving" ;) ha! I didn't really think about it and tested expecting to see negative and my period! Then all of this happened.......my last period was 9th June x

If you didn't get a bfp until 6 days late that would seem to indicate you ovulated late. Were you ovulation testing?

Elllicam · 23/07/2016 20:30

Agree with Garden, it doesn't sound hopeless, hopefully it's just a negative doctor. Good luck I hope all is ok.

Thebean123 · 23/07/2016 20:29

Thanks for your replies ladies I appreciate the input. Well my doctor said she expected my hgc levels to be in the thousands so when they were 42 I assumed her negativity was justified? I don't really know much about these things as I'm childless at the moment. I have just resigned myself to the fact that I will be miscarrying any day now. It's a torturous wait.........:/

Tbh I'm surprised the doctor was so negative. A hcg level of 25 the day after a positive test seems about right to me, assuming you ovulate late. A hcg level of 42 isn't far off doubling in 48 hours, hcg levels would be expected to double over 48 to 72 hours. You appear to me to be within the normal range for very early pregnancy. I would take the repeat test and see how it goes. Flowers good luck, this is tough for you.

CmereTilliTellYa · 23/07/2016 20:06

Yes I've been through this thebean and so has a friend of mine. For me it wasn't good news and it was a chemical pregnancy. I started to bleed about a week and a half after finding out I was pregnant, just lightly and went for blood tests. My levels were low and got lower the next time I was tested so it was clear it wasn't working out. For my friend though it was a different story she has slow rising levels initially and was very worried but they did pick up and all was fine.

It's very very hard waiting to find out what is happening, particularly so when it doesn't work out. I hope it is good news for you.

StrawberrytallCake · 23/07/2016 19:03

Oh bean Flowers so sorry to hear you're going through this.

I haven't had that happen to me - have had the bleeding at the beginning of pregnancy but no hcg level testing.

I don't know if this is good advice or bad but I can only tell you what I would do - which is buy a digital test which tells you how far along you are..that might indicate whether the pregnancy is continuing according to their levels. So you would be more like 3-4 weeks on that...again that might be terrible advice, hoping someone else will come along to help soon.

Hi all.....
So I've had some pretty sad news. The dr called me on Monday and told me that she doesn't expect this pregnancy to last due to low hgc levels. I was tested the day after my bfp (Wednesday) and the levels were just 25. Had more blood taken on the Friday and they had risen to 42. Doctor called me on Monday and told me to expect the worst and a miscarriage. She wants to take more blood on Monday but isn't hopeful. And neither am I now.

Has anyone else gone through this? I have no idea what to expect and when to expect the bleeding to start? I had a pink smudge when I wiped on a few days ago but NOTHING at all since. I feel like it's just torture at the moment. Stuck in some shitty limbo waiting for the worst to happen. Was given the best news ever and within a week it was all taken away from me. Eurgh. Sorry for the rambling.......just having a rant and feeling pretty sorry for myself!

That's a line OP, congratulations!

Nicnak2223 · 12/07/2016 11:51

Just to join the party I can see lines on the first and last test. Please test again tomorrow. I did about 8 tests with very faint lines and my ds is 7 months, so I'm pretty confident I was pregnant.

Mamabear12 · 12/07/2016 11:44

clear blue is not the best for picking up early in pregnancy and the electronic one is the worst! It is not sensitive so you need to be late in order to test with those. Sainsbury brand is good for testing early. I tested two days before my period was due and got a positive w sainsbury and negatives w clear blue. My husband didn't think I was pregnant bc they were light lines, so I turned up next day with first response two dark pink lines, our boy is now 2.5 😀 Good luck and it looks like lines to me on the first response!

DartmoorDoughnut · 12/07/2016 11:41

Told you it was a line! Congratulations Grin

Fullofnachos · 12/07/2016 11:40
