I know where does the time go?! Mine is 18 months tomorrow 😳

Eclecticmama · 24/03/2017 08:21

It's giving me hope to hear all your positive night weaning stories, last night was pretty tough, but i think we're making progress Smile

Eclecticmama · 24/03/2017 08:19

My DD is 12 months (how did that happen!! Can't believe how fast she is growing up!)

Bessyboot · 24/03/2017 07:57

Sorry you have probably put above but how old are your little ones eclectic and barkingmad83? Xx

Bessyboot · 24/03/2017 07:55

Hi All
Night weaning still going well - she is waking up an hour or so earlier then she did before (usually about 6am now) but think that's a small price to pay, plus 6am doesn't seem so bad now that it's light (and have actually been asleep all night!!).

Had first acupuncture session on Monday, had a bit of a weird reaction this time in that as soon as she started I suddenly got really sweaty palms and feet and just felt really hot. That went away after about 5 mins though then it was just really relaxing. The lady says she is going to read up on how to support trying to bring my cycle back whilst still breastfeeding as she's not specifically treated that before (she's not a fertility specialist like I saw first time round - but now I have lo I don't have time to travel the distance to see the specialist!) she says that she knows the lady I saw before though so will speak to her about it. Because of Easter hols I'm not going again for 3 weeks so until then I will keep temping and hope that it shows that something is happening. Think I need a new thermometer though (just got the one out that's been in a drawer for 2 years!) it's been giving some weird results- or maybe my bbt has gone a bit strange if body is trying to start ovulating again?

Good luck to everyone trying night weaning and thanks for good news pregnancy stories 😀 Xx

Great to hear your news Lullaby, gives the rest of us hope!

Good luck with night weaning Eclectic and hopefully it'll bring your cycles back.

Making progress here. The last week I've stopped bringing DS back to bed around 4/5, as although it let me sleep for longer he'd feed an hour or two non stop. Getting up that early is hard, but he just has a 5 min feed in his room and that's it till around 7pm, when again it's just a quick 5 mins. Some nights he's only waking once. Seems that since I became stricter with when he feeds, he's also started cutting down on the amount/length of feeds himself.

Currently on CD47 - made it to CD49 last month, so hoping this cycle isn't going to be even longer! I've been getting night sweats and there've been a few things that have tasted or smelled odd recently, so was wondering if I could have been pregnant. But inclined to think that's wishful thinking - did a test at CD32, when I had a couple of days of feeling nauseous and really bloated, but that was negative.

Eclecticmama · 23/03/2017 21:44

dolphin did the feeding during the day settle? Do you think it was a growth spurt or illness or something?

Eclecticmama · 23/03/2017 21:43

Bessy how was your acupuncture? I know of a few mummies who used it at the end of pregnancy and enjoyed it. Might be worth me looking into it...
Great to hear your night weaning was successful, can't imagine how nice it'll be to wake up refreshed in the morning!

Eclecticmama · 23/03/2017 21:36

Hi lullaby, thanks for your stats, and congrats on your pregnancy - fingers crossed the rest of the pregnancy & birth is a doddle 😁

We are currently trying to night wean after a few terrible nights of DD feeding all night long, i even fainted at work i was so exhausted! Which of course has sparked rumours of me being pregnant. I even poas just to check, which was of course bfn.

So now dh is getting up at night and giving cuddles and water when needed. It's going ok (though we only started last night)... Fingers crossed it brings back AF & fertility.

Hope everyone else is well

lullaby23 · 21/03/2017 10:45

Congrats abrahamkin I remember you from further back in the thread, glad you didn't need to wean in the end and fingers crossed for a healthy 9 months.

blue regarding your query about milk in pregnancy, it usually stops in mid pregnancy. Some women have nothing until near the end so might continue to dry nurse (such a horrible painful sounding phrase!) some switch over to colostrum straight away. As PP said some babies don't like the taste changing. For me (I am a thread grad who still lurks occasionally Smile) my milk turned to colostrum at about 23/24 weeks and toddler didn't notice or care, if anything wants more feeds now!

My stats if of interest - I wanted a smallish gap without weaning so stopped feeding on demand when DS was 7 months, AF returned at 9 months but was lighter than usual for the first few cycles. Night weaned at 11 months and dropped to morning and evening only (with occasional extra here and there) at 13 months. Started TTC when he was just over a year and got BFP when he was 16 months, now 30 weeks along and all being well DD will arrive about 3 weeks after DS turns 2.

Good luck ladies I am rooting for you Flowers

Bessyboot · 19/03/2017 20:57

Haha duckling glitter - I am still eating like a beast (mostly hot cross buns at the moment - keeping it seasonal 😜) and I must have an "energy surplus" or whatever is required now as with not feeding at all over night there must be massive difference in the amount of milk I'm producing.
Going for first acupuncture session tomorrow, I did it when ttc last time because it was taking a while and I had a short lutal phase. I really liked it then, plus did seem to lengthen my lutal phase, so going to give it another go this time. I suppose I'm being a bit impatient by not just waiting to see what happens with the night weaning first but as these things need a bit of time to work it seemed better to get on with it rather than hanging around.
Hang in there Dolphin just because LO is feeding more this week doesn't mean this month is a write off 😀 Xxx

Dolphindot11 · 19/03/2017 19:27

Hi how's everyone doing? I feel like we've gone backwards a bit because my LO has suddenly started wanting to feed a lot during the day again, we had day weaned and she was fine for a couple of months but this week I'm not sure if it's teething or what but she's been demanding milk again all day long and getting really upset if I try to say no. I'm just going with it, but feeling a bit pessimistic about my chances this month! Still no sign of AF but last cycle was 6 weeks long so probably just another crazy long cycle!

DuckingGlitter · 15/03/2017 06:13

Bessy I'm glad I'm not the only one using the eat as much as possible method to binge on Ben and Jerry's trialling the eating more method. I'm hoping it will work, I really don't want to wean yet, I think it will be a nightmare with my dd because she is so clingy and a bit of a boob monster.

Congratulations on all the BFP's!

BlueSpottyTiger · 14/03/2017 21:36

bessyboot oops! Hehe... sounds like your doing fab welldone Smile
I love morning cuddles, i have to miss them twice a week when i start early.. really makes me sad! Dd had started waking only once or twice at night now.. mainly once over the last few days so I'm only feeding once a night.. but i have to.. she is absolutely hysterical when DP picks her up until she gets on my boob. I really dont see another way of settling her but tbh i don't think i need to stop soon, since ive had regular periods for 10months now

Bessyboot · 14/03/2017 20:43

Thanks eclecticmama I get some cuddles in the morning when I'm not going to work, but this morning as I have to leave at 6am not possible. I did try to pump a bit before I left (was worried that I'd start leaking and be in agony at work!) - but nothing came out! Amazing how fast my supply has adapted, I was feeling rather "full" from lunchtime onwards and it was a great relief in more ways than one to feed her when I picked up from nursery but no leaking during the day.
Have been making the most of the "eat as much as possible" method as well, ate 4 chocolate hot cross buns when I got home 😳 Hubby not too impressed that there were none left for him -oops! Xx

Eclecticmama · 13/03/2017 21:50

Well done on night weaning Bessy sounds like your LO is doing really well. Hope you get to rejoin the family bed soon! Nothing like sleepy cuddles!

Eclecticmama · 13/03/2017 21:47

Wow the BFPs are flowing in - keep hem up everyone!

Congrats abrahamkin really good news, and delighted to hear you didn't need to cut down on feeding to get there! Flowers

bakingmad83 · 13/03/2017 20:18

Congrats Abrahamkin! Thanks for sharing your good news and reassuring you didn't have to give up feeding. Like we were lucky 1st cycle with DS and now my cycles are much longer than the 30 days I was used to before DS, so certainly gives hope :)

BlueSpottyTiger · 13/03/2017 17:11

Abrahamkin Wow-wee congratulations Doll, Great news! Xx

Bessyboot · 13/03/2017 15:05

Congratulations Abrahamkin 😀 So great to hear of good news
Here we are 3 nights in to night weaning and it's going well still - lo wakes up and moans a bit so daddy just rubs her back and she drifts back off. I'm finding it quite hard being without them both though 😕 But hopefully if she's still doing ok after a week I can sneak back in to bed with them 😊

Dolphindot11 · 13/03/2017 14:40

Big huge congrats Foggymist and Abrahamkin! So pleased for you both :)

Abrahamkin · 13/03/2017 11:58

Congrats to you too Grin

Foggymist · 13/03/2017 11:52

Abrahamkin very similar to me so, I have an almost two year old, had a chemical pregnancy last month and got a much stronger bfp yesterday, congrats Smile

Abrahamkin · 13/03/2017 11:38

Hi all! Haven't written in a while, but you can find my posts further up. Just wanted to give some hope (if possible!) My DS is 2yo and have been trying for 6 months while still breastfeeding. With DS it had worked first time round, so I have been disappointed. But got a strong bfp today! I had a bfp 2 cycles ago, but it was very faint and I guess it was a chemical pregnancy.

I suspect that breastfeeding was allowing for fertilisation but not implantation in my case (as my cycles were longer than usual). But finally it happened! And I haven't stopped breastfeeding.

Foggymist · 13/03/2017 07:43

Thanks Smile
