I'm 34
Ttc#2
Cycle 18 (?) Not sure
DD almost 2 years old, had been feeding roughly a million times a day but I have decided to just nurse in the morning when we wake up, after lunch and at bed time, with a view to dropping the lunchtime feed in about 3 or 4 weeks.

I had a strong positive opk on Saturday afternoon and DTD Saturday night. Not been able to manage it sInce (DH and I work shifts) but hopefully that'll do the trick. Cycle day 15 with cycles usually around 27 days so officially in the 2ww.

Sorry about the BFN jp

expatvet · 21/06/2016 14:20

sorry about your test jp but if AF doesn't come then do still test again in a couple of days. I also pregnant 1st time trying last time so its frustrating to be in this situation... I'm hoping weaning will help here so good luck on the weaning game!

Welcome cat!!

Stats...

I'm 36, TTC#2
DS is 2yrs and we weaned 3 weeks ago just after his birthday
cycle 6(ish!)
currently CD 10

Thank you pumpkinpie and lullaby. After doing the test this morning I decided to go for a run because I was putting off running the last few days in case I was pregnant. Anyway just after my run I needed to pee and there was a bit of brown when I wiped so either implantation or my period is on the way??

lullaby23 · 21/06/2016 11:39

Sorry about your test jp.

Pumkinpie1 · 21/06/2016 09:49

Sorry bout your bfn JP
I was also getting a bit fed up of nothing happening, we conceived lo in first month too so I knew BF was the problem.
Good luck with the weaning Smile

jpclarke · 21/06/2016 08:13

I caved and tested bfn, so just have to wait now for af to show. But that's ok onwards and upwards. In terms of timing I wouldn't of been entirely happy about this month so it's not the end of the world really. Might just wait until the winter now although my gynae said I should take these things when they come but both dc were both conceived first month or trying so it's obviously breastfeeding holding up a bfp this time. So I think I need to concentrate more on weaning than ttc for a while.

Pumkinpie1 · 21/06/2016 06:39

Hi cat !
My stats are
31 nearly 32Confused
Lo 14 months
TTC no 2
Weaned lo at 13 months cycle only just seemed normal last month so this is my first real TTC month
Using ovulation sticks with not much success

lullaby23 · 21/06/2016 02:04

Can we re-do stats for the new thread for newbies and those with terrible memories?

I'll start.

Lullaby
34 nearly 35
DS 13 months
TTC#2
Cycle 2 (not counting last month due to various failures!)
Currently BFing 2-3 times a day and avoiding over night feeds. Taking Agnus Castus, temping and using CBFM.

lullaby23 · 21/06/2016 02:01

Welcome cat CD1 for me so fired up the CBFM this morning too! Last time I used it I only got highs so let's hope we both get peaks.

Good luck with the opk / temping this month expat

jpclarke · 20/06/2016 20:31

Welcome Cat, my lb went through something similar with the boob lately but he is after cutting through a canine and another one on the way so I am putting it down to that. He has eased off again and forgotten all about "in there" as he says until bed time. So hopefully your lb eases off again too.

CatW72 · 20/06/2016 11:58

Hello All - room for a newbie?

I'm still breastfeeding my 16 month old lb and hoping to conceive no. 2 asap (I'm getting on a bit!) - have started back on my advanced fertility monitor plus will also start with ov sticks in the afternoons today and I'm temping - the latter a bit difficult as wake time in mornings erratic to say the least.

My periods came back in January but I'm unsure if ovulating as only just started back with the above. I hope so though after 6 months!

For some bizarre reason though lb has turned into a boob monster the past few weeks and is wanting to snack all the time so I don't know if that will affect anything.

CD10 today so should - all being well ov in next few days - we shall see!

Good luck to all:)

expatvet · 20/06/2016 08:56

only 3 days to test time jp!

lullaby hope the angus helps

Have just got a new bed for DS and he's really excited about sleeping in it - even if its just for the start of the night that should give DH and I some good time to DTD this week without fear of interruption (2 years of co-sleeping hasn't exactly helped our sex life!!)

started OPKs yesterday hoping I'll be able to find out if I'm actually O'ing this month..

lullaby23 · 20/06/2016 08:35

Experimented with giving DS a snack and some cows milk in a cup after his nap rather than BF. He mostly played with the cup and spilt the milk all over the highchair but perhaps a tiny bit went in. He has water from the munchkin 360 cup as he is very messy but thought I would give him milk in a different cup (tommee Tippee flip top) which is easy to pour out of, maybe a bad idea!

lullaby23 · 20/06/2016 08:32

Yes I've heard it can have the opposite effect so could go either way! Will see if it makes matters worse soon enough. You're very brave to try a tincture sounds horrible! I remember my mum trying to make me take liquid echinacea as a child boke!

jpclarke · 20/06/2016 08:10

I tried Angus last month, to be honest I think it messed up my cycle. So I hope it doesn't have that effect on you lullaby, but maybe I shouldn't of been taking it in the first place as I have had regular periods for 9 months and it could also have been the chemical. I decided not take it this month. I used the tincture rather than the capsules, I found it very hard to drink.

lullaby23 · 20/06/2016 07:19

Thanks for the new thread expat.

jooni yes Angus has arrived! I've started taking 2 x 400mg caps at bedtime and will see if it makes any difference, AF due any day.

Welcome garden & coolchic.

Good luck with the testing jp

jpclarke · 19/06/2016 09:26

Omg my nipples are just so sore, I was dreading ds latching last night and they are still sore but no other symptoms.

expatvet · 19/06/2016 08:23

Sorry your mum is not being supportive garden I fed ds to 2yrs and just quoted who at anyone who dared question it!!

Only 4 days to wait now jp!

My dd is nearly 2.8 years and my ds is nearly 19 months. He is the one I am still feeding and I can't see him stopping anytime soon. It's so hard when you have loved ones giving out about your personal choice. The who recommends up to age 2 if it's any consolation. Plus the last people we need to be giving out to us is our loved ones. My dh has been giving me a bit of a hard time the odd time lately too. If I had a choice now it would be to have him weaned although part of me would be very sad. But I would love a full night sleep and a night out not even to drink even just to the cinema or a restaurant. Getting guff is not going to change our situations and ultimately we are doing our best for our dc, so try not to take it to heart. I also think that in the bigger picture it's such a short time in their little lives.

Gardencentregroupie · 18/06/2016 21:07

Good luck jpclarke, I agree that 5 days seems like a reasonable time to test.

How old are all your DCs? My mum had a bit of a go at me tonight for still BF'ing DD (almost 2 years).

jpclarke · 18/06/2016 20:59

I am half afraid to test and yet another part of me is curious. I suppose I will just have to wait and see what this week brings.

How is everyone's weekend going? I took this kids for new shoes today. I went yesterday too but I wasn't happy with the selection in the shop so I went again today. The lady yesterday measured ds as 1.5 sizes bigger than what he is currently wearing, boy did I feel like a bad mom. But then when we went to a different shop today he was measured at only .5 size bigger which would be normal growth. I was so glad I stuck to my guns yesterday and didn't buy any shoes.

Pumkinpie1 · 18/06/2016 18:23

I agree with expatvet test in 5 days fingers crossed

expatvet · 18/06/2016 08:35

To poas or not poas...that is the question! I vote test in 5 days if no af.... everything crossed!!!!!

OP posts:
jpclarke · 18/06/2016 08:19

Thanks everyone for all your kind messages, I am not sure how many days post ovulation I am or when my af is due as I didn't do any opk's this month. The only insight into ovulation that I have is from the scan and the gynae suspecting that I was due to ovulate. If I go by the gynae I am due af in 4 days whereas my app says I am not due for another 8 days. Although I bought some first response as they were buy one get one free in boots I still don't want to waste any tests. So I think I will just wait and see how the week goes. Or should I just test early this week coming?

expatvet · 17/06/2016 23:43

Welcome coolchick and garden!!!

Sorry to hear about your brushed arm jp hope some positive results come of it or even better that you get a positive result this month and don't need to go for the next appointment!
