Ooh will look into angus castus. I seem to remember you need to be careful to stop it when actually pg, light be getting mixed up with something else. He goes 9 hours when I'm at work usually, maybe if I could persuade him not to have that just got hole feed it would help.., he won't like it though Hmm

Fleck · 01/07/2016 18:26

Thanks for the welcome :). I know that night weaning is the way to go really, I think I just keep finding excuses not to! Teething, a cold etc. The thought of having to settle him without boob is quite terrifying Shock. I never expected to bf for this long but we both love it, all my bf friends got their cycles back well before this. I do have screwy hormones though.
I used conceive plus when trying for ds and we got on well with it. I've since heard that coconut oil is good too.
Wishing you all good ttc hormones!!

jpclarke · 01/07/2016 18:25

Congrats Garden, super excited that you will be joining me on the next stage of the journey. I had a feeling you were going to get good news with the symptoms you had.

I haven't night weaned yet, and tbh don't know when it will happen but I generally don't feed all day. I did read that your fertility will come back if you can go 10-12 hours in between, so maybe start by dropping a day time feed and replacing it with a snack. I find it's much easier to distract during the day than it is at night. Angus cactus is supposed to help bring back your af too.

Jooni · 01/07/2016 18:08

Garden wow, congratulations! I love seeing good news, there's hope for us all Smile. Wishing you all the very best and a h+h pregnancy.

Welcome Fleck. I agree with Oracle in that the general consensus seems to be that night-weaning helps a lot with fertility. Even if you're not ready to wean your LO completely, might it be worth trying to night-wean at least? At 2 it's unlikely that he's feeding at night for sustenance, but rather because of the comfort/imtimacy of it. Also, co-sleeping can apparently contribute to delayed return of fertility - it's the closeness to your LO around the clock that keeps those fertility-supressing hormones high. If you're open to the idea, it might be worth moving your DS to his own bed and seeing how you both do.

expat Friston cycle? This is cycle #3 for me, and I've had this extended period of EWCM in both of the last two cycles, though it does seem to be getting shorter. Prior to my first PPAF, I had EWCM on and off for several weeks, sometimes for days at a time. Last cycle I had it for 11 days, and this cycle it just ended yesterday, making it 8 days this time. I think I'm ovulating - I'm new to temping and I don't think I'm doing it very well, but I did see a rise of about .2 degrees this morning and CM finally seems to have dried up, so things are looking fairly promising for now. I'll have to see what my temps look like for the next few days.

We DTD on Weds night and I'm a bit annoyed now that we didn't do it again last night, but we should still be in with a chance if my LP is long enough this cycle. Though last cycle I think it was only about 3 days (going by CM), so... Confused

NappingRabbit · 01/07/2016 15:35

Eek congratulations Garden!

We DTD last night, DH is now away for the weekend so is let off the hook Wink I'm not expecting anything to come of it as it would all be just far too convenient if it took just three days to conceive! But am hoping I get a period in a couple of weeks so that I at least know things are going the right way.

Gardencentregroupie · 01/07/2016 13:50

Shock POAS early today, with early afternoon wee, and there was a faint but visible line Shock

TheOracleAtSelfie · 01/07/2016 09:44

lullaby We used it when ttc and were pregnant with DD the month we started trying. I don't tend to get EWCM so thought it would be good to use some!

expatvet · 01/07/2016 09:11

Hi fleck welcome!!! And we'll done for getting to 2 yrs and beyond! I weaned recently just after his 2nd birthday and it was right for us but I know I'd feel the same as you if I weaned for a 'purpose' and it wasn't the right time. I wish you every luck getting your cycle back without weaning. How about just night weaning for now? My dh just took over nights and I slept in the spare room for a bit (we also cosleep) and he seemed to take it really well even though we continued feeding in the day for a while. Anyway I'm sure you will do what feels right for you and I'll have my fingers crossed that you're 'blessed' with af soon so you can start actively ttc!

napping sounds like an O!!! Hope you managed to dtd but even if not at least you know things are moving again!!! Yeah!

jooni no idea I'm afraid I've never had that many days...but I know it can vary person to person...without looking back on thread which cycle is this for you? Has it gone on this long before or was this a Friston cycle so your body just 'ramping up' so to speak?

Happy Friday all! It's a long weekend here so we're off to the bush. That will keep my mind off the 2ww at least! Catch up Wednesday!

lullaby23 · 01/07/2016 08:44

Argh I thought I posted yesterday but my post seems to have been eaten, can't remember what I was going to say now 😆

Welcome fleck no helpful advice really I guess the night feedings might be preventing your cycle from coming back completely? Completely understand not wanting to wean it's tricky! I've been lucky that DS has pretty much accepted wake up and bedtime feeds only now though not 100% of the time!

oracle is conceive plus any good? I bought some last time but didn't end up using it as got BFP on 2nd cycle. Will have to check the use by date!

TheOracleAtSelfie · 01/07/2016 07:27

Hi fleck and welcome! I'm in a similar boat with a 14 mo DD who still boobs a lot, no cycle yet. Everything I've read suggests night weaning is the most effective way of boosting fertility but I don't think either me or DD are there yet.

Fleck · 30/06/2016 22:02

*couldn't get pg, that was meant to say towards the end. Sorry it turned into a bit of an essay!!

Fleck · 30/06/2016 22:00

Hi. Can I join? I am currently bf ds who just turned 2 on Wednesday. I also have a dd who turned 5 yesterday. Ds still feeds a lot at night (we cosleep) and 2 or 3 times in the day usually. He does go the whole day without when I'm at work but that's the first thing he wants when he get home. I haven't got my cycle back but would really like to ttc #3. I also have pcos which means getting pg isn't straightforward even without bf and I've needed clomid for both my dc. I can't really ask for fertility help when I don't even have a cycle though! I know they will just say to wean ds but I don't feel either of us is ready. If I weaned him and then couldn't get of I would feel gutted I think. Any tips for encouraging a cycle to return without weaning please? I have had some signs that my body is trying, feeling hormonal, the teensiest bit of spotting.

TheOracleAtSelfie · 30/06/2016 21:40

napping I hope you pounced on DH Wink

TheOracleAtSelfie · 30/06/2016 21:39

jooni here's hoping! Re: your EWCM are you ovulating? Sounds promising! I don't think I ever really got much of it so I used lots of conceive plus.Blush

NappingRabbit · 30/06/2016 20:53

expat it's amazing how slowly time can go when you're waiting for something.

I wonder whether my body might be trying to get going again. I have had vague ovulation type cramping a couple of times since coming off the pill a few months ago but no period ever arrived. Tonight I've felt it again and did an OPK which looked pretty positive and I have a tiny amount of EWCM. I think my body might be trying to ovulate. Whether it is actually doing it is another story.

Jooni · 30/06/2016 19:15

Oracle I think pink CM sounds like a very good sign. Before my first PPAF, I noticed a tiny bit of pinkish CM in the morning, then nothing, but the very next day AF arrived! Hope it's a sign of things getting back on track for you.

TMI question for you all: what is the deal with EWCM while breastfeeding?! I'm on day 7 of copious amounts of it now, and the past two cycles have been the same. Last month I had it for 12 days straight! I never used to get it for more than 2-3 days per cycle pre-baby. Anyone have any experience with this, or an explanation to offer? I'm wondering if my body might be repeatedly trying and failing to ovulate...

expatvet · 30/06/2016 14:45

ooh! exciting napping!! hope you get a proper cycle soon!!

coolchic, what worked for me was to try not to react to it (easier said than done), finger in side of mouth to 'de-latch' and put the boobs away for a bit... no idea if that helps or not but hope he stops it soon OUCH! Hope you either get AF so you know where you are in your cycle or a BFP soon!

I'm on day 4 of the 2WW.... and time is already moving so SLOWLY!!!

hope eveyone else is well! xx

Aww congrats JP, I must have missed your good news catching up on the thread☺️. I have no idea when af is dues as cycle hasn't started since giving birth so the wait continues.

Lullaby, I suspect a tooth or 2 coming up as she's been chewing on her hands too, no seems to amuse her unfortunately no matter how firm i say it. Here's to hoping she'll soon understand the meaning! I'm also bf to sleep and last night was a marathon as she just couldn't settle😢

NappingRabbit · 29/06/2016 07:17

Sending lots of positive vibes to those in the 2ww.

Had a chat with DH last night and we have gone from planning to try soon to actively TTC! I'm excited but trying to prepare myself for things to take a long time since I don't even really have a cycle yet, let alone know where I am in it. Going to order some OPKs and keep an eye on CM.

lullaby23 · 29/06/2016 06:47

Welcome mama and good luck to those in the interminable TWW. DS also a one hit wonder so it definitely happens! Sure it won't be so easy this time!

Thanks for all the positive sleepy thoughts for DS not working yet now his afternoon nap has gone to hell too Shock not sure what's going on but it's not much fun atm. Am currently BFing him back to sleep...

coolchic I find DS goes through a biting period when he has a new tooth kind of like he's trying it out? I take him off and say no bitey or no teeth and it usually passes in a day or 2.

jpclarke · 28/06/2016 22:47

Coolchic I got my bfp last week m, so far all is well thank god so hopefully it stays that way. Sorry to hear about your bfn when is your af due?

Coolchic12 · 28/06/2016 20:56

Hi ladies, wow I've missed a lot since joining😳. Good luck with poas JP, how exciting! Ive poas a few times (with bfn of course) as I've been feeling a bit strange in abdomen, guess it's just hormones playing up! Anyone struggling with biting dc when bf, any tips?

TheOracleAtSelfie · 28/06/2016 20:55

expat I know quite a few "one off wonder" babies - you never know....

TheOracleAtSelfie · 28/06/2016 20:53

Hi all! For the first time since lochia stopped I've had a bit of pink cm today, and feeling a little bit crampy & bloated. I'm thinking maybe my body is starting to think about waking up my ovaries again?! Has anyone experienced this before their period came back?

jpclarke · 28/06/2016 20:43

Fingers crossed for you Garden, it sounds like it could be a good sign.

Sorry expat that you only got one shot at it but you never know it only takes one sperm after all, the tww is painful but just try to distract yourself with other things or else drive yourself mad symptom spotting!!!
