Oh, I thought the thread had gone quiet but it had somehow come off my watched threads.

Congratulations, Garden! That's such good news. Wishing you all the best.

Pumkinpie1 · 04/07/2016 07:56

I think your right jooni, it will just take time to get everyone back to normal after BF for so long.
I will try to keep tracking!
Good luck this cycle I'll have my fingers crossed for you and for a longer L phase

Jooni · 04/07/2016 07:01

Pumkin I'm in the same boat as you. 2 cycles so far, both shorter than pre-baby (27-28 days), plus I think I'm ovulating late so LP is most definitely short Sad. These things take time to sort themselves out I guess - hopefully you'll see a progression this month and then you can try in earnest in August!

As for me, 4th morning of elevated temps this morning I think, so it looks like I ovulated on Thursday and am 4DPO today. We DTD at the right time but my LP was so short last cycle that I'm not too hopeful for a pregnancy this time. But I am really hoping for good progress in terms of LP; if AF doesn't turn up until after the 10th at least, I'll be happy.

Fleck · 03/07/2016 22:21

Fingers crossed!

Pumkinpie1 · 03/07/2016 22:08

Cheers fleck, got my fingers crossed I ovulate early then to get a good luteal phase !

Fleck · 03/07/2016 21:42

I do think that is a bit short, should be 12-14 days ideally. It is quite hard to track ovulation I think though so possibly you just missed it. Without being too graphic I've found egg white cervical mucus to be a good indicator.

Pumkinpie1 · 03/07/2016 21:17

Hi fleck
I was trying last month but no positive ovulation yet ! I was thinking I might have missed it going to try from day 9 to day 16 see if I can catch it this time.
From my body signs I think I ovulated around day 16 but not sure if it actually happened .
Is 9 - 10 days long enough for a luteal phase ?

Fleck · 03/07/2016 21:02

I think that's fine pumkin as long as your luteal phase is still long enough. Do you track your ovulation?

Pumkinpie1 · 03/07/2016 20:21

Hi boat and all the other newbies
Congratulations garden! So happy for you !
Managed to dtd last night but only day 7 so won't come to much sadly oh is working a way during my key days this cycle so this month will prob be a practice run! On a pos he isn't working away in August so I'm determined that's our month .

I'm currently having ( just 2 so far ) a smaller cycle since AF returning of 25 -26 days is that good or bad n what implications could that have on fertility ?

boatrace30 · 03/07/2016 10:53

Yes no AF at all, I keep thinking its returning as I feel hormonal and have even had a few cramps but nothing. I don't think I'll be able to get an appointment with a gynae as it's about 15 years since it was diagnosed and I didn't have big issues getting pregnant (they were just starting to investigate when I got BFP). I was informally told when I had baby scans that one ovary look polycystic and the other looked fine so I was relatively hopeful. I guess I just need to fully wean. We're going on holiday in 4 weeks so I'll keep it up until then and stop after. It just makes me a bit sad :-(

lullaby23 · 03/07/2016 02:07

Welcome boatrace has your AF not returned yet? It's difficult to say for sure as it seems to vary hugely some can get pregnant whilst still BFing a lot whereas others need to stop completely. According to Kellymom dramatic changes to feeding can have the most effect on fertility but if you're down to two feeds already I'm not sure what other changes you can make without weaning completely. If you've suffered PCOS in the past are you able to see a gynae and get a scan to see what's going on? I wanted a 2 year gap too and time running out! Good luck.

boatrace30 · 02/07/2016 23:45

Sorry, should have asked if you mind me joining.

boatrace30 · 02/07/2016 23:10

Hi, new to the thread and would welcome some advice. DD is 13mo. Sill bf but only morning and before bed and milk supply has reduced massively. She doesn't wake at night so no night feeds. Not actively ttc but would like a 2year age gap so really need to start - but at the moment it seems like there is no point ! I do have pcos but managed to conceive dd naturally in five months, but I was having (irregular) periods. So questions... Do I need to stop bf to find out if that is stopping me from ovulating or if it is the pcos? Is there any point going to the doctor? I'd like to continue bf ideally but not necessarily at the expense of ttc. Thank you

TheOracleAtSelfie · 02/07/2016 22:43

garden eeek congrats!

Fleck · 02/07/2016 18:21

Fx for a sticky bean garden. That last test does look very clear Smile

Gardencentregroupie · 02/07/2016 12:17

I have a POAS problem Blush but I think I didn't dip long enough this morning, my afternoon test is pretty clear

Oh garden thinking positive thoughts and keeping fingers crossed for you.

Gardencentregroupie · 02/07/2016 08:25

Yesterday's faint line was even fainter this morning - have a bad feeling this one isn't going to stick :(

Fleck · 02/07/2016 08:10

Hmmm I don't think either of my dc's sleep was good enough to suffer from a regression so I'm not sure Wink. That's encouraging that the night weaning wasn't too bad. We will have to bite the bullet and go for it. OH is very supportive but I think he'll find it tough.

lullaby23 · 02/07/2016 00:45

fleck I know the feeling, never thought DS would be able to get to sleep without BF but with some gentle persuasion and DH doing all the hard work he got there. Although seems to be going through a sleep regression at the moment, hasn't slept well for a week - is there one at 14m?!

lullaby23 · 02/07/2016 00:43

Wow fantastic garden keep us posted and congratulations Flowers

Fleck · 01/07/2016 22:24

Thanks. He's a bit off colour at the mo (excuses again!) but I'm definitely going to try. It feels much more manageable than night weaning!

jpclarke · 01/07/2016 21:58

I think that's the first feed you could try and start on, try giving him time in another way. His favourite book, going outside together. We recently got bikes and they love going out being pushed on their bikes. You just need to change the routine a bit and hopefully he won't notice not getting his reconnection/ comfort feed. Distraction is the key.

Fleck · 01/07/2016 18:37

Congrats to garden and jp too!
