Hope you had a good holiday lullaby , got my fingers crossed for you.

lullaby23 · 08/09/2016 11:27

Welcome to new thread joiners!

Back from holiday now and enjoying some horrible jet-lag and cranky badly sleeping toddler! Didn't track at all this cycle so as ever not holding out much hope and expect to have a fresh start with cycle 5 next week. Brought a fresh batch of ICs with me plus will be firing up the trusty CBFM too!

jooni totally sympathise with the overthinking and stressing about TTC, it really can't help but it's so easy to get a bit obsessed. Hope your time out helps you to relax a bit (although I know being told to relax is the most annoying thing sorry!)

jp wow 14 weeks that has flown by! How are you doing? Have you had your scan? So exciting!

oatybiscuits · 06/09/2016 23:26

Oof that sounds rough jooni, stepping back for a wee while sounds sensible. Something about ttc does feed the obsessive in me! Although second time round I feel the shines off a little, I know I'll probably have spd again and I'm very likely to have another (insomniac) allergy baby and it would be lovely to just be a bit naive and think everything's going to be fine!

Jooni · 06/09/2016 16:27

Welcome oaty! Amazing that you've breastfed for so long. I'm no expert on night-weaning as my DD started sleeping through of her own accord eventually, but I'm sure some of the other ladies will be able to advise you.

Napping How are you doing? And Oracle, how are you feeling?

I'm 7DPO now but have been incredibly stressed this cycle. I keep having what I assume are like mini panic-attacks, horrible. I've been sleeping terribly too. I'm not sure what's suddenly up but the only thing I can think of is that I've been letting this TTC lark take over a bit too much. I need to try and think about other stuff for a bit so I might not be around here as much. Wishing you all the very best of luck!

TheOracleAtSelfie · 06/09/2016 13:49

Thanks all. Now it's sunk in I'm really delighted and just hoping for a healthy pregnancy.

Fx for all the rest of you in the 2WW - napping how are you doing? It must be close to POAS time? Wink

oatybiscuits · 06/09/2016 10:42

Hello! I'm new! Ds is 2 next month but still a big milk monster, we're going to begin night weaning in the next few weeks, anyone done it and come out the other side? I've just come off the pill 2 weeks ago so trying to figure out what on earth my body's up to but I'm not getting any clues Confused glad there's other people here- I'm not sure how I feel about being pg and breastfeeding but it seems silly to try and stop when I'm not even pg.. So we'll see how night weaning goes, he's not such a big feeder during the day so things might begin to tail off then. Left to his own devices I think ds would still be boobing at high school!

jpclarke · 04/09/2016 22:04

Congrats Oracle, I am thrilled for you.

Writer, I experienced an early loss earlier this year and like you thought it had to do with breastfeeding but I am still breastfeeding and I am just over 14 weeks pregnant. I would suggest taking an iron supplement and vitamin b 6 and hopefully you will get some good news soon.

Pumkinpie1 · 03/09/2016 07:04

Sorry to hear what you have gone through writer,

Woohoo Abraham hope it happenes quick!
Welcome curlie!
User. My AF is very different since having my lo it's very heavy n last 9 days min I used to be light n 5 days Angry
I'm just waiting for ovulation cycle day 11 today but don't expect anything till at least cycle day 16

curliegirlie · 02/09/2016 22:19

Writer Good luck. I'm sure it will happen though - you've caught once before post-DS and I'm sure you'll do it again, and DH will come round to the idea. It sounds like it all just came at a tricky point with DS.

I've been giving DD formula for her lunchtime feed for a week though. I hope I can keep it up - there's always some excuse to give her breast rather than bottle (e.g. A couple of weeks ago she had a tummy bug). I suppose part of me feels guilty to be trying to cut down when it took until she was 7 months to give up her formula top up feeds....

User11220 · 02/09/2016 20:29

Thanks v much jooni, appreciate the reply. Hope the tww doesn't drag too much for you - you'll probably be kept busy running around after your newly mobile dd - it's lovely to see them developing and moving on :-)

Jooni · 02/09/2016 19:24

Aw, Writer, try not to put too much pressure on yourself. I understand about having a timeframe to stop yourselves from stressing about this forever, but also remember that plans can change and you could always take some time off anf then come back to TTC later if you felt like it. Nothing's final.

Welcome curlie and great news Abraham - time to get baby-making Wink

User my periods started out much lighter too, but after a few cycles my LPs started getting longer and they got heavier. But it sounds like your LP is fine already, so it might just be your new post-baby norm. Having a baby definitely can affect your periods. Good luck for this month!

3DPO here (finally!) and nothing to report, other than that my DD learnt to walk today, at 11 months! Eek, here we go...

Writerwannabe83 · 31/08/2016 09:24

Thank you everyone for your lovely welcome Flowers

It took me about 12 months to convince DH to TTC #2 and so when I miscarried I was so upset. W wanted to start TTC again straight away but I didn't feel emotionally ready.

We left it a few months and then after our first cycle of TTC again, and not falling pregnant, DH told me he had changed his mind and didn't want another baby. I was so, so, upset.

Fast forward three months, which brings us to now, and he has agreed to TTC again but has said we can try for a year but if nothing has happened in that time frame then we stop. I accept that, it's a good enough compromise for me, but I'm just so worried it's not going to happen.

User11220 · 31/08/2016 09:20

Just catching up here. Congrats oracle, that's great news! Hope it all goes well for you. My AF arrived last week so I am on to next month. I am going to try chart this month to try confirm ovulation. One thing I have noticed is that my af is very light. Much lighter than before I became pregnant with my lo. I can't help wondering whether maybe my lining isn't thick enough to support implantation? Does bf affect that or is it just ovulation? Maybe changes in your period are common after pregnancy? Like oracle I would prefer not to have to wean just to become pregnant so will give it another couple of months and see where I am then.

Abrahamkin · 30/08/2016 20:39

Congrats Oracle!
I'm now back from holiday, and I had the coil taken out today Grin. So I can FINALLY start TCC and get on this journey with all of you.

curliegirlie · 30/08/2016 12:41

Hi, I've been reading this thread a while, but thought it was time I joined you properly!

I'm still breastfeeding my daughter who turned one just over a week ago. We've been NTNP since before Christmas (was on the mini pill for a few weeks last year) but I've not have a whiff of my cycles returning so I feel stuck in limbo land. I've just started trying to replace her lunchtime feed with a bottle of formula in the hope that the larger gap between feeds might kickstart my period....

Whilst we're not exactly over the hill (I'm 34, DH is 37) we kind of feel that time is against us, as DD took 16 months to conceive, and as she has Down's Syndrome that will automatically make the next pregnancy high risk.

I guess it's all just a waiting game really...

Jooni · 30/08/2016 08:01

Writer I'm so sorry to hear about your loss and that you're feeling so down about things. As Oracle said, if you were able to get pregnant then it's unlikely that BF is causing major problems, but if it would make you feel better to wean then 2.5 years is an incredible time to have breastfed for! Amazing Star

As I said though, there probably isn't a problem at all. 4 months without conceiving is more likely just bad luck. I completely understand your worry and frustration though - ths is cycle 4 for us too and this month I've been so het up and obsessive about TTC that I've actually delayed O, twice. Currently CD 25 of a usually 28-30 day cycle with no O yet Sad I'm trying just to accept that it's going to take a bit of time, but it's so hard not to think about it all the time!

TheOracleAtSelfie · 30/08/2016 00:55

writer Sorry to hear about your MC. I'm sure I've read before that BF can mess with ovulation but once you're pregnant it's not a risk to your pregnancy. So please don't feel guilty or like it's necessarily something you need to give up Smile

TheOracleAtSelfie · 30/08/2016 00:52

Thanks all.

Was feeling pretty shocked earlier (read: I sobbed at DH for a good couple of hours) and I think it's going to take me a while to come to terms with having a second baby. DH is over the moon though so that's nice and reassuring.

I didn't wean or reduce BF - I didn't want to force DD to cut down unless I really had to. I did however have acupuncture which brought back AF after two sessions.

Writerwannabe83 · 29/08/2016 22:57

Hi guys,

I'm TTC #2 whilst still breast feeding DS1 who is 2.5 years.

I fell pregnant earlier this year, our first cycle of trying, but I had an early miscarriage and the 4 months we have been trying since then haven't lead to a pregnancy.

When we had DS I fell pregnant on the first cycle and I assumed it would be just as easy this time round.

Part of me is always wondering whether the BF'ing is causing a problem, whether that's why my pregnancy wasn't successful and also why I can't conceive.

Maybe I'm just looking to cling on to something but I'm feeling pretty down about it. I don't want to wean DS but I can't stop thinking that I will never get pregnant whilst I'm still BF'ing.

He only has 2-3 feeds in a 24 hour period and sometimes due to my shifts he only has two feeds in 48 hours, so I know it's much but like I said, I'm always feeling like the BF is the reason for me not conceiving and I feel sad about it most days Sad

lullaby23 · 29/08/2016 20:58

Just checking in as haven't had much internet access.

Sorry about AF pumkin fingers crossed for this month.

Wow oracle great stuff, huge congratulations to you. Love a BFP on this thread! Remind me did you wean or just cut down BF?

boatrace good news on AF returning!

Well my spotting turned into the real thing and I forgot to bring sticks for CBFM and have no OPKs and not temping so no obsessing for me this month - trying to be laid back on holiday (if possible with DS!) He has been feeding loads and is currently not well and off his food so not holding out much hope and seriously considering weaning when we get back Sad

Had some ewcm starting yesterday quite early in my cycle compared to usual (CD10) but was too tired to DTD last night after a day of travel. DH must have read my mind as was woken up by him being rather amorous at 6.30 this morning Blush

Jooni · 29/08/2016 18:24

Wonderful news Oracle, congratulations! Flowers What a lovely way to end your holiday.

Hope everyone else is doing well. I think I'm finally back in the game after O was delayed by stress a couple of weeks ago. Lots of EWCM the past few days and a solid + OPK this morning, so I'm feeling positive about my chances of Oing in the next few days. Phew!

NappingRabbit · 29/08/2016 17:08

ShockShockGrin great news Oracle, that was efficient! So happy for you.

Pumkinpie1 · 29/08/2016 15:31

Congratulations oracle

TheOracleAtSelfie · 29/08/2016 15:18

BFP Shock

aries92 · 28/08/2016 14:35

boatrace great news!

We've dropped down to just one short BF a day, supply is ridiculously low and I doubt he's getting much... But still no sign of AF. Argh! Still having cramps and EWCM at the same time of the month for the past 3 months now so who knows what's going on...

Good luck everyone!
