Morning - definitely in too good a mood this morning for the hut - not sure why the good mood, but not going to question it while it lasts!!

Anyway, 37.83 this morning, so up a little from yesterday. 11 DPO (well 11 days high temps - when do you count ov from, the day before temp rise or the day of temp rise?)

fettle, it took us 1 and 1/2 years to conceive Bertie. The doctors don't know what happened really,so have just told me to try again and they were going to give me aspirin once pregnant. They suspect a clotting issue, but the tests they completed have come back negative. However after reading Prof Regan's book I found out my consultant has not tested for all the main clotting issues and probably not in the right conditions (you don't use a cuff and have to have the bloods analysed within an hour) plus they have to be repeated on several different occasions. Therefore I contacted the regional pregnancy loss clinic in Birmingham and they are willing to take me as a patient. I originally called Prof Regans office, but to go privately would cost me £1700 for the routine tests, which I don't mind about, but she could not see until June!
As the one in Birmingham is my regional clinic they will see me in the next 3 weeks! and as an NHS patient. She has reassured me there is no difference between patient care if NHS or private...Which is how it should be! But we had some money tucked away for when Bertie arrived, so I did not have to go back to work for a year, so if I needed any private treatment we have that option.
I also went for a private scan the other day and they said I have PCO. PCO can have different effects within pregnancy and is associated with some late pregnancy issues, such as clotting. But the pregnancy clinic said it could just be down to an implantation issue and it would of been inevitable that the pregnancy would of finished early. Implantation can also be an issue of PCO and most will end up in M/C under 12 weeks. I am going to see my fertility consultant on Tuesday, as we were seeing him to conceive Bertie...he did my first scan at 7 weeks when I was pregnant... Although we want to progress on and try for another baby I know seeing him again will be quite upsetting...

To be quite honest I feel so confused over everything. Common sense is telling me that there must be an issue, as had another pregnancy with bleeding (but lost just under 3 months), then a period of sub-fertility and then all that bleeding and placenta issues in my pregnancy with Bertie and now being told that I have PCO. But the doctors are saying just try again and see what happens.. Trouble is that if anything happened again it is not their lives being ruined, but I really want to have another child...

Hope this all makes sense.. I bet you wished you never asked now!

Thanks fettle, I have posted my link to the fertility friend chart I have been using, wondering if you could look at it, I could not work out if I had o'd on day 10, 13 or 15. FF changed the date depending on whether I put day 14 as sticky or ew! I could not really remember as I only fleetingly checked it that day. In retrospect it would appear that I o'd on day 15 but I am not convinced by the temping. My cycles vary from 22 to 32 days! My two children were concieved on very short cycles with early ov. Thanks for helping

welcome aboard!! Temping is great for having an idea what your body is doing - I've been doing it for about 4 years, with a year off while breastfeeding DD! I love it, I started originally on the advice of my doctor when I first started TTC, as my cycles were so irregular, I never knew when to expect AF - now I can predict them to the day!! Its great!! Although now, I'd rather AF stayed away!

Your temp will vary from day to day and month to month. And many factors will affect your temp - what time you take it, lots of alcohol to drink the night before, disturbed sleep. What you are looking for is a sustained rise over 3 days, which is higher than your previous 6 readings. What you will hopefully find is your pre-ov temps range between about 0.2 of deg, with your post-ov temps at least 0.2 deg higher than your highest pre-ov. Does that make sense? For example, my pre-ov temps range between 36.2-36.4, then rise to between 36.6-36.8.

Not everyone notices a ovulatory dip - in the 4 years I've been doing it, I've only noticed a pre-ov dip once or twice!

I bought Toni Weschler's book called Taking Charge of your Fertility and she covers all sorts of temp questions, as well cervical mucus and cervical position charting, if you want to take things seriously! I'm not a charting fanatic, but now can take note of my CM throughout my cycle, but I found the book really helpful in other ways about how my body works!

Hi I hope you don't mind me joining in here, I just started charting temps for the first time last month, and now at least have an idea what I am looking for. A question - do you temp changes look similar each month or is it a guessing game looking for the o-rise each time? There were 3 possible "o" dips in my chart this last month and the least likely one was the one that fitted with the arrival of af - today, I got her instead of you fettle, I'll keep her occupied for you this week.

rahrah - that was the name my brother used to call me when he couldn't say my name when he was little, still my sister calls me rahrah a couple of decades later!

my starting temp today was 36.6 same as last month exactly.

I still think you are incredibly strong Rahrah. I so hope you get pg again quickly. Did you conceive Bertie quickly? Do they think you will have the same problems next time around?

hopefully if I get pregnant again...I don't think I will be telling people for a while..Trouble is with me is the bleeding that I get and puts me at risk past the normal danger zone... But hopefully if I get past 12/13 weeks without bleeding it means my placenta should be bedded in better...

I'm hoping so Rahrah - my first mc was at 9weeks, but I found out I'd had leaking carbon monoxide in the house for a while before I mc, so I'm hoping that is the reason. And then I hope the early mc last cycle, was just one of those things, so don't want to have 3 consecutive mcs! But at least I've already been referred to the local hospital for investigations. Initially it was for infertility, but it's turned in mc investigations now!!

Anyway, I'm so glad I've got you girls around. We're not even going to tell family this time for a while!

ok, will do...(my lips are sealed for another week)..but I smell the sweet smell of success!!I can imaging it will be difficult, but a pregnancy that ended so early was more than likely a one off event for that occasion. I have been reading a book on M/C from Professor Regan. (I'm an expert now)... sure everything will be ok.. XX

Thanks Rahrah - trying to keep a sense of proportion. It is very early days still and after last cycle, having a mc at 5 weeks. I think I'll just go back to pretending I'm not, just laying off the caffeine and alcohol! No point making a doctor appointment until I re-test at the weekend.

Ao until then, let's just pretend I'm still a TTC temp buddy!!

Hi all

Ready, I think your temp rise can be seen 24-36 hours after you actually ovulate, so you probably wouldn't see it today. Don't worry if you are up tomorrow and then down again and day after and then up again, as some people do have a dip 2 days after ov due to sudden drop in oestrogen I think.

Anyway, hope those hangovers are over, Lottie and Rahrah!

Fettle 14 DPO 36.79 at 0627, then 37.03 at 0827, then weak BFP at 0840!!! 13 DPO

Rahrah 36.8 12 DPO -Feel a bit crampy (
Ready 36.19 1 DPO (I think)
greedyforbabies 10 DPO

Ok, I know I shouldn't have tested Ready, only being 13 DPO, but my temp was much much higher than I would have expected at 830 this morning, that I thought I'd check. Kind of wish I hadn't now, as now I'm terrified about losing another one. So I'm going to pretend I didnt' test and see what happens over the following week. It is my birthday on Saturday, so if I can have a properly positive BFP on Saturday morning that would be a fantastic present!

Still have bad AF pains and my boobs are agony, so still think AF may arrive on Tuesday really.

So worried, it will go horribly wrong, but obviously pleased that I've now managed to conceived in 2 cycles in a row! Not bad considering it took 2 years to conceive DD and 10 to conceive the 1st mc at beginning of last year. Let's just hope I can keep hold of one now!!

Right off to have a tea party with DD, dog, octopus and DD's baby!!

Oops, cross posts with you rahrah, thanks for looking it up for me... but what happens if you OV at 11pm on a Sat, then 8 hours later when I take my temp, has there been enough time for the surge to be detected?? IYSWIM?? So it will be the Monday that I chart the rise? But is it still possible that OV was on the saturday??

Am I making sense to you all?? It makes sense in my head, but I am not doing the best job at articulating it!!

Well, I have never really taken any notice of pains for OV either, but that is cos I didn't really know what to look for, or when. So I guess I am kinda clutching at straws but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!!

I am sure someone said, and I read that we chart things in days, but the body obviously doesn't work according to a schedule that we choose. So the difference of a few hours can change the way we look at things... Again, possibly clutching at straws.

Going to have sex again tonight (ha ha, agree the things we say to each other! Chuckle!) It's probably best to carry on with the concerted effort, til my temp shoots up!!

I have dried up actually... forgot to think about that factor (I am useless!!), yesterday was very... not dry

Howdy Peeps.... I feel like poo.... went out last night and drank far to much. My partner in crime and her DP stayed and she puked everywhere!! I have not been sick yet...but don't feel like the brightest button in the box.
