Morning - definitely in too good a mood this morning for the hut - not sure why the good mood, but not going to question it while it lasts!!

Anyway, 37.83 this morning, so up a little from yesterday. 11 DPO (well 11 days high temps - when do you count ov from, the day before temp rise or the day of temp rise?)

speak later

Rah - think I am o-ing now, got some o-pains and my cm is just right (yuckky talk!), but hope to see the temp rise in the next couple of days to confirm it. Unfortunately too tired to dtd last night, but tonight, will try harder.

Did you see the 3 bfp's on the feb thread, and it is not feb til tomorrow! Clearblue fairy must be losing grip on things round here! Ready and Minxi - we are watching you.

Greedy - [holding your hand] today we are with you in spirit and wait anxiously with you to hear the news.

Hoping to see some temp rise soon... how much does it normally go up by? I have had a temp of 36.2 for ages now...so how much higher should I expect it to go?

Ammy- I have just started temping this month, and find it very interesting. I feel much more relaxed this month (not sure if due to temping or just too fed up to get stressed!) I think that it will help me resist doing early PG tests too.

Am also going to test on Friday morning if nothing has happened before then as will be 12 dpo by fertility friend and by my personal notes am 5 days late!! Can't wait to go to the chemist tomorrow!!

ammylovesbabies · 30/01/2007 23:10

I think that is almost certainly the plan- I really do not know when I ovulate which may be key to getting pg

We are thinking of trying again around June/July. If I get pg next month my due date will be 2 weeks before wedding. Don't want to be bf on wedding day!

Hope you are feeling ok Greedy. Fingers crossed for your blood test tomorrow. will be thinking of you xx

greedyforbabies · 30/01/2007 22:17

when will you start to ttc again then ammy? it will be perfect to temp for a couple of months and really get to know what your body is doing and then you can really go for it at the right times when you start ttc again.
minxi/ ready keep hot!

Ready · 30/01/2007 21:59

Consistently high temps up to and beyond AF due date(above the coverline - you;ll learn all about that) can be a good indication of a pregnancy.

ammylovesbabies · 30/01/2007 21:52

A high temp at the end of the cycle is a good sign right?

ammylovesbabies · 30/01/2007 21:49

Am going to get a basic kit and just see it as a chance to learn bout my body a bit more. Didn't realise I knew so little. Will have to wait a few months now to ttc again (wedding) but this will be a good oppurtunity to see what my cycle is like. Guess work don't work!! Thanks y'all! xx

Fettle - Thanks for the advice, very useful and hoping I don't have another cycle and I have watched my temps with interest and timed it with bd perfectly I shall be v happy! Although if not will be exciting to chart again next month as I wont be so new to it fingers crossed we got it right though

Ammy I only started temping this month and am finding it fascinating already although have nothing to compare - my cycle seems to be doing what it is supposed to be doing...exciting!

Ready - I will be relying on the 2nd decimal place too if its me and my thermometer in the morning!

Ready · 30/01/2007 21:10

There's no harm in giving it a go and seeing how you get on with it. Best of luck and welcome aboard.

ammylovesbabies · 30/01/2007 21:03

I reckon I'm gonna give it a go. I always thought I knew when I ovulated but found that I actually don't!

Ready · 30/01/2007 21:03

x posts again with you Fettle.

Damn that second decimal place the bane of my life!!!

fettle · 30/01/2007 21:02

Basal thermometer measures more accurately than a normal thermometer. Tends to have 2 decimal places, but you generally only use 1 decimal point on your actual chart.

You can take temps orally or vaginally, whatever you feel more comfortable with. I personally prefer orally. Whatever you decide to do, you must stick that way each time, as the temps will vary and when you're looking for a temp shift of around 0.2 deg to show you've ovulated, you begin to see why it must be an accurate reading!!

Go on, join! I love it!!

the thermometers that you stick in your ear are not as sensitive apparently.

You can take your BBT temp either in your mouth or 'down-under', whichever you feel most comfortable doing. Also worth mentioning is that some people got erratic temps orally, and when they did it vaginally the temps were more consistent.

ammylovesbabies · 30/01/2007 20:55

Whats the difference between a basal temp thermometer and a normal one i stick in my ear?

I've heard people on here say as well that they have taken temps vaginally for more steady results. should it be in your mouth?
