Hi all, I don't know if any of you remember me, I haven't been on here for ages but had to come on today to announce that I got a very clear strong pink line on a pregnancy test this morning!!

The background is that I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks last January and have been trying since then to conceive again. 2006 was a tough year all in all with the grieving the miscarriage and month after month of disappointments and tears. We went to the doctors in about August and managed to get referred to a fertility unit. In an appointment on Monday of this week, the consultant rated our chances of getting pregnant at 5-10% naturally and recommended starting on chlomid and doing IUI . We were both reeling and pretty much floored by that. I wasn't keen but thought that it was maybe better than nothing. So we were just waiting for my period yesterday or today to start the drugs...but now I'm pregnant!!!!

I just want to shout it to the world now.

It is so good to have you back - i've really missed you around! So pleased you've conceived by your anniversary of mc - I'm hoping that this pg sticks and I'll be weeks pg by the time my anniversary comes around on Feb13th!

Take care - how many weeks do you think you are?

Rubles, that is fantastic news I remember you so well from the TTC boards and your frustrations and disappointments.
I also got prescribed Clomid, waited for Af and then found out I was pregnanT
I'm now 31 weeks
Good luck, hope everything goes well and will keep an eye out for you.
Lots of love and smiles

Ohh, that's interesting! Mine was a teensy bit too on 3dpo then some tinged CM for the next 2 days. I have read up on it and think that it could have been due to the egg bursting from the follicle as that would be around the right time. It is apparently a good fertile sign so that's made me happy. Never had it before. Feeling quite calm, we BD lots so I feel we've done the best we could this cycle.

Sorry to hijack Coggy .

I think that anything different is something to make you hopeful, isn't it? I had a teensy, tiny 'spot' (it wasn't even that) this month at around 4dpo, I think. Although, saying that, this month I didn't appear to have ovulated according to my temps and fertility friend so it is difficult for me to say precisely how many days post ov it was.
It's just so agonising.

I'm fine thanks Rubles, cd23 today and 6dpo, had some odd spotting this cycle just after OV, taking it as a good sign!! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Thank you all sooo much for your congratulations, it is very touching. And it's nice to see a few old familiar names and know that I am remembered!

Coggy I've seen your thread, and I really hope things work out the same for you & we are both due in September together!

Janus, in answer to your question I am not sure why the doc gave us such very low odds. All that was found wrong was my fsh level - which is elevated (at 10.9 when last measured). Other than that there didn't seem to be any other factors that showed up as issues. So I think he thought that it was a declining ovarian reserve that was preventing me conceiving and he seemed to base his percentages on that and the fact that we have been trying pretty damn hard for the last year and not managing. It was quite alarming for us and made me feel like an OAP. How have your tests gone, as I remember you were in a very similar boat to me back in autumn?

Trace - I checked Coggy's thread so I know you've made it to 20 weeks, although you've got SPD it must feel great to have made it to the half-way point.

Juicy & MrsMc - how are you two doing? Juicy, have you got any tips on how to deal with the worry????

Congratulation Rubles....that is fantastic news.

I saw this thread title and desperately wanted to have started it myself......I was due to start the injections for IUI on Tuesday but had a VERY light AF and told that I would have to postpone until next month.
I do hope it's for the same reason as you.
X

Sorry to ask, but why did the consultant give you such low odds, what did they think the problems were? Have you rung him to gloat??!!
