TTC No. 3

hello! have been ttc no.3 since last april now. ds took about 3 or 4 cycles to concieve and dd 1 cycle, so i am finding this hard to get my head round!

the main reason for starting this thread, if anyone is interested, is that sometimes i feel really bad chatting on the other threads about age gap concerns, how i will cope with another one etc....when lots of other 'posters' are ttc no.1.

it makes me feel a bit guilty going on about no.3 when some other MNers have such tragic stories.

anyway, i know there are a few of you out there also ttc no.3. Do you all have big houses and cars?

Live in Surrey - which my brother in sydney calls it a posh tractor! Nice... but yes I remember when I was young having to sleep somewhere else when grandparents came to stay funnily enough I don't remember either - probably in with my two brothers! Also rolled around in the back of a hillman minx (no relation to my name!)...

Had a career though and gave it up to support DH as he travels its very hard to have 2 young ones plus him away and when I was working also had to travel and hated every minute of it - used to cry myself to sleep...so decided to support the family instead plus when I did work it seemed to divide the family as no time for each other when your both working!

Minxi- i hope you live in the countryside with that landrover!
We have 2 cars too, but DP has a got a lovely little mini which is very economical- but doesnt exactly fit a lot of people!
I think you just make do with what you've got, I remember vividly being squashed in the middle in the back of the car on long car journeys as a child. I was youngest of 3 girls. I also always had to give up my bed when any old relatives came to stay. My Grandad lived with us for a while and he took my room. I cant remember where i had to sleep though!

I am 35 in 10 days time!

Have DS1 who is 6 in Feb and DS2 who is 3.6 and TTC No 3 for 2.3 years (was on depo so that has had alot to do with it, so would say body back to normal for the last 6 months or so). DH travels away abroad most weeks Mon- Friday, live in a 4 bed house and we have 2 cars (sorry), DH bought me a new car in Oct which is a 7 seater landrover, (said I needed a bigger car for when we DO have 3 and also have to ferry millions of children , mainly friends around from school etc...)

Very comfortable life but upset about the time it is taking to conceive no3...

Interesting topic!!

By the way 33 is not too old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mitchell81 · 19/01/2007 07:55

I'm 25, fell pregnant at 18- no plans to have kids at the time. But married DH 6 months later, so it all worked out in the end. DD is in a wheelchair and has special needs, so need DS to be walking and able to do things for himself a bit. So need to wait until he is 2 at least. I know it will be hard, but I want at least 3 children. I am a SAHM anyway so don't need to worry about childcare etc. Already have a small 7 seater car and will hopefully by then have a 4 bedroom house and bigger car.

ItsMeMellowma · 19/01/2007 07:20

I am 33 too greedy!!

The other thing is, I do feel quite old to be ttc again but then I see threads with ladies who are 40 and ttc and don't see anything wrong with that so I just need to, chill out

greedyforbabies · 18/01/2007 23:00

so jo.....do you worry about no.3 being left out cos your 1st 2 are so close, cos i do! i think the longer it is taking us to concieve the more i am wanting 4 instead of 3, so that no.3 has a playmate too!

Can second Greedy - my ds1 was 8 months when I fell with ds2, and it really is a great age gap for them. And when things start getting easier, it all seems to happen at once!

Ds2 is also in the year below ds1 at school (ds1 rec and ds2 nursery class at the school currently), which is lovely.

greedyforbabies · 18/01/2007 22:30

michell - my ds was only 8 months when i fell for no. 2 and it was completely planned. wonderful age gap! go for it NOW!!!!

We're ttc no 3 too...

Me - 28
Dh - 31
Ds1 - 4.10, conceived on first month of trying after coming off mini-pill
Ds2 - 3.5, a 'happy accident', conceived after getting rather carried away on a fertile day and proving resistant to the MAP!

I've always wanted 3 children, had in my head that my 'ideal' would be two boys and then a girl... now I've got my 2 boys I couldn't give a monkeys what sex no. 3 will be just as long as I have a no. 3!

Dh would be happy with our 2 and no more, but after years of priming from me (), he's finally come round to the idea that it's now the right time to try for another baby.

Actually, recently I've been imagining what it would be like to have 4..., not sure if part of that stems from my longing to fall pregnant with this one...

My parents are aware we want another baby, but don't know we're trying now - it would never be the right time if I listened to them, the latest is "oh, you'll want to enjoy some time to yourself for a bit in September when ds2 goes to school..." etc. Er, no, I don't want to get used to having time to myself or it'll be harder to adapt when I do have another! Their list of reasons varies but I've learned to take no notice, when we make the announcement they'll have to keep quiet!

Dh's parents have heard us make reference to another but always make no comment or look shocked Can't wait to see their reaction -

Mitchell81 · 18/01/2007 21:08

Just reading about you all ttc no. 3, is making me think I definetly want no.3. But will need to wait until at least September before trying. As DS is only 7 months, DD is 6 and I want DS to be at least 2 before new baby arrives.
Also have to try plan due date to be in Summer holidays as will have to have another C/S and won't be able to drive DD to school etc. So many things to think about and if I don't fall pregnant the correct month, all my plans are messed up.
Sorry for waffling. Hope you all fall pregnant soon.

cazzybabs · 18/01/2007 16:59

I meant to type
" Well - you know I havw the most perfect children and I wouldn't want to deprive the world from the potential genuis that will be (am thinking postively) number 3!"

cazzybabs · 18/01/2007 16:58

Well - you know I havw the most perfect children and I wouldn't want to deprive the world from the genuis .

I am only 28 but am worried about the quality of my eggs...it doesn't seem to be the getting pregnant (she says touching wood and crossing toes, fingers and everything else) but keeping them dividing..

greedyforbabies · 18/01/2007 13:02

i really hope not honeyapple, your good efforts deserve some results! i just wish i didnt have to wait so long for another fertile window!

OP posts:
honeyapple · 18/01/2007 13:00

Pretty sure that despite our marathon BDing this month, AF will arrive soon.

honeyapple · 18/01/2007 12:59

I think part of me wanting to have no.3 is to have a baby that was really really wanted from the very beginning. I love my two of course, but to be fair both of their entrances to the world (or rather to my womb) where less than brilliant. Neither at the right time- or with the right preparation. I am NOW doing the grown up thing of TTC. (But i dont like it).

greedyforbabies · 18/01/2007 12:55

wow! i was still bonking my way round manchester at 21!

honeyapple · 18/01/2007 12:53

Hardly a prune Greedy- thats not what I meant!
Yes DD was conceived on a gap year in Australia- nice surprise when I came home with big tummy for my mum at the airport!!

greedyforbabies · 18/01/2007 12:52

OMG! cos your kids are older than mine i assumed you were older than me honeyapple! daft hey! i feel like a dried up old prune now! i am 33

OP posts:
honeyapple · 18/01/2007 12:51

Cazzy- that is horrid about the M/Cs. I hope that you keep on trying for your number 3.

honeyapple · 18/01/2007 12:50

I think we have to accept that as you get older, your fertility decreases. I mean it is just much easier to get PG when you are younger... I am still only 30, but I was PG with DS at 21, and DD at 25...
I didnt think that my age would affect it, but am beginning to think that this is probably why it is taking longer this time.

greedyforbabies · 18/01/2007 12:48

sorry meant to say, sorry to hear about the mcs, must be really tough
